Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menginvestigasi pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah terhadap belief siswa tentang fisika dan pembelajaran fisika. Desain penelitian kuasi eksperimen non-equivalent control group design dengan sampel siswa kelas XI Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri (SMAN) 1 Kota Jambi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuesioner the Colorado Learning Attitudes About Science Survey (CLASS). Hasil uji Ancova terlihat bahwa tidak ada pengaruh signifikan penggunaan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah terhadap belief siswa tentang fisika dan pembelajaran fisika. Temuan penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa belief siswa tentang karakteristik dan cara memperoleh suatu pengetahuan sulit untuk diubah. Meskipun demikian, penggunaan berbagai model pembelajaran yang berfokus pada pada pembentukan model (model-building) dari dunia fisika melalui pemecahan masalah-masalah yang bersifat kontekstual dan nyata, serta memberikan kesempatan siswa untuk aktif terlibat dalam pemecahan masalah dapat membantu siswa mengembangkan belief yang mereka miliki tentang fisika dari belief sebagai seorang pemula (novice-like belief) menjadi belief sebagai seorang ahli (expert-like belief).The Effect of Problem-Based Learning on Students’ Beliefs on Physics and Physics Learning This research aimed to investigate the effect of problem-based learning on students’ beliefs about physics and learning physics. The research design is a quasi-experimental,  non-equivalent control group design with samples were senior high school students grade XI at SMAN 1 Jambi City. The research used the Colorado Learning Attitudes About Science Survey (CLASS). Through data analysis using ANCOVA Test can be seen that there was no significant result effect of problem-based learning on students’ beliefs about physics and learning physics. The study’s finding indicates that students’ beliefs about characteristics and obtaining knowledge are difficult to change. Nonetheless, the use of various learning models that focus on the formation of the model building on the physics world through problem-solving that are contextual and real, as well as providing opportunities for students to actively engage in problem-solving can help students develop the belief that they have about the physics from novice-like belief into expert-like belief.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze HOTS-based science learning in terms of students' critical thinking skills. This research was conducted at SMPN 22 Jambi City using a mixed research method with explanatory design analysis. Two instruments were made in this research: the description test questions as an instrument for quantitative approach and interviews for qualitative approach. The research subjects consisted of 58 of 13-14 years old students selected using quota sampling. The tested topic was the lens refraction which consisted of 10 questions. Five indicators were tested; namely, the ability to provide basic explanation, basic support, interference, advanced clarification, and strategy and tactics. After analyzing students' answers, the average score for providing basic explanation was 3.31, building basic supports was 3.59, inferencing was 3.26, providing advanced explanation was 3.88, and utilizing strategies and tactics was 3.41. Students’ HOTS was high with the average scores in the 40-60 interval. Therefore, students’ critical thinking skills were sufficient, which affected students’ HOTS in science learning.

Abstract

This article aims to find out the resources activated by students in solving Newton’s laws in terms of gender. This research is a quantitative descriptive study with two open test instruments. This research was conducted on 10th-grade students at SMK N 1 Muaro Jambi with 11 female students and 11 male students. The facts obtained in this study indicate that students’ thinking about Newton’s law is still lacking during the learning process. Based on the analysis results of the level of understanding of student concepts, female students understand better than male students. Overall, students fail to summon relevant knowledge when facing problems in the form of phenomena. In addition, they failed to use the knowledge they gained to answer questions. Students’ abilities are activated when they understand a phenomenon influenced by students’ original ideas from their personal experiences.

Abstract

Background: Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat untuk pengolahan limbah cair batik jambi telah dilakukan melalui sosialisasi. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menyediakan informasi tentang pengolahan limbah cair batik jambi menggunakan metode yang sederhana. Topik aktivitas ini sangat penting karena minimnya Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah di sentra batik yaitu hanya ada satu Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah yang menjangkau tujuh rumah batik. Metode: Mitra dalam pengabdian ini adalah Rumah Batik Siti Hajir Kecamatan Pelayangan, Kota Jambi, dengan empat puluh peserta. Sosialisasi ini dibagi dalam beberapa tahap yaitu persiapan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Degradasi dengan matahari menjadi tema yang disampaikan kepada peserta karena telah terbukti dapat mendegradasi 60,34% limbah cair batik jambi.  Hasil: Berdasarkan kegiatan tersebut, pengrajin batik jambi sangat antusias menerima informasi penting ini. Mereka memahami bahwa paparan secara langsung cahaya matahari selama beberapa hari dapat mendegradasi limbah secara alami. Hal ini karena cahaya matahari memiliki panjang gelombang 310-2300 nm. Waktu radiasi sinar matahari yang lebih lama, semakin lebih banyak radikal *OH yang terbentuk sehingga partikel ini yang akan bereaktif pada ikatan rangkap dalam senyawa limbah cair batik. Kesimpulan: Kegiatan ini memiliki keuntungan untuk pengrajin batik yang tidak memiliki Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah. Metode ini dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif untuk pengolahan limbah cair batik sebelum limbah dibuang ke lingkungan.

Abstract

Abstract: This study explores the implementation of an oyster mushroom cultivation project as a contextual learning model at Sadarmanah Elementary School, located in Campaka Mulya District. The objective of the project was to enhance students’ understanding of scientific and environmental concepts while simultaneously fostering practical skills, critical thinking, and character development. Using a project-based learning (PjBL) framework, students were actively engaged in every stage of the cultivation process, including planning, preparation, observation, and harvesting. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, student journals, and performance assessments. The findings reveal significant improvements in students' conceptual understanding of biology and ecosystems, as well as the development of soft skills such as collaboration, responsibility, and environmental awareness. Moreover, the project served as a bridge between classroom theory and real-life applications, aligning well with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum and the Profile of Pancasila Students. This study suggests that contextual, environmentally-based project learning is an effective strategy to enrich learning experiences and support the holistic growth of elementary students.

Abstract

SMK Swasta Methodist Tanjung Morawa merupakan salah satu sekolah swasta di bawah naungan Yayasan Methodist Kasih Imanuel Indonesia yang berdiri sejak tahun 2008. Salah satu jurusan yang ada di SMK Swasta Methodist Tanjung Morawa adalah Teknik Komputer dan Jaringan (TKJ). Sesuai dengan kurikulum yang digunakan di jurusan TKJ, pemrograman merupakan salah satu pelajaran yang harus diberikan kepada para siswa untuk mencapai dasar bidang keahlian dan dasar program keahlian. Namun, saat ini bahasa pemrograman yang sudah diberikan masih terbatas pada HTML dan Javascript saja dimana keduanya merupakan mata pelajaran pemrograman web yang hanya mencapai dasar program keahlian saja. Sedangkan untuk mencapai dasar bidang keahlian dibutuhkan pemahaman tentang pemrograman dasar lainnya, sehingga para siswa memiliki kompetensi yang lebih baik. Oleh karena itu, Fakultas Informatika Universitas Mikroskil menawarkan solusi berupa pelatihan pemrograman dasar menggunakan bahasa Python yang bertujuan untuk membantu para siswa meningkatkan kemampuan pemrograman mereka. Kegiatan pelatihan ini berlangsung selama 2 hari dan dilaksanakan di Laboratorium komputer Universitas Mikroskil dengan metode workshop/praktek langsung. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi kegiatan pelatihan, diperoleh 86,3% siswa merasa Python mudah dipahami dan 95,5% merasa materi pelatihan yang diberikan ini bermanfaat. Selain itu, berdasarkan hasil pre-test dan post-test diketahui bahwa pengetahuan para siswa secara umum meningkat setelah mengikuti pelatihan

Abstract

SMAS Wiyata Dharma is a school in the city of Medan and has been established since November 14 1985. This school is located on Jalan Wahidin No. 31 Medan, North Sumatra Province. This school has currently received an A accreditation rating. This school generally not only provides educational curriculum lessons but also provides learning related to computer science which can help students prepare themselves for the outside world. One of the lessons in computer science, namely mobile apps and the most widely used programming language is the Flutter programming language developed by Google. Through collaboration with Mikroskil University, SMAS Wiyata Dharma students are equipped with the ability to create mobile applications using Flutter in collaboration. This training activity lasted for 2 days and was carried out in the Mikroskil University computer laboratory. During this training activity, students were given pre-test questions, material and case studies, as well as post-tests and feedback at the end of the training. From the results of the pre-test and post-test, it can be seen that there is an increase in students' understanding of the results of the service carried out and from the feedback that has been shared with students, it can be seen that all students agree that the training carried out is in line with the students' expectations.

Abstract

AbstrakKegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan kepada 27 guru dan 18 siswa di SMAS Bodhicitta Medan tentang implementasi Smart Learning menggunakan ChatGPT, dengan fokus pada personalisasi pengalaman belajar dan integrasi teknologi berbasis artificial intelligence (AI) pada pembelajaran. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi identifikasi kebutuhan, perencanaan dan desain pelatihan, pelaksanaan pelatihan, serta monitoring dan evaluasi melalui pre-test dan post-test. Hasil pra-test menunjukkan bahwa sebelum pelatihan, pemahaman siswa dan guru tentang smart learning dan penggunaan ChatGPT masih terbatas. Namun, hasil post-test menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman dan penerimaan terhadap integrasi ChatGPT dalam pembelajaran. Survei penerimaan mengindikasikan bahwa 82% siswa dan 78% guru merasa penggunaan ChatGPT efektif dan memenuhi kebutuhan pembelajaran. Meskipun beberapa responden menyatakan kurang efektif dalam penggunaan teknologi AI dalam pembalajaran, namun tingkat penerimaan yang tinggi menunjukkan respons positif terhadap penggunaan teknologi AI dalam kelas, menandakan pentingnya adaptasi metode pembelajaran yang inovatif. Kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dan mendorong integrasi teknologi canggih dalam pendidikan. Kata kunci: ChatGPT; smart learning;  artificial intelligence, pelatihan. Abstract This community service activity aims to provide training to 27 teachers and 18 students at SMAS Bodhicitta Medan on the implementation of Smart Learning using ChatGPT, with a focus on personalising the learning experience and integrating artificial intelligence (AI)-based technology in learning. The implementation method includes needs identification, training planning and design, training implementation, and monitoring and evaluation through pre-test and post-test. The pre-test results showed that before the training, students' and teachers' understanding of smart learning and the use of ChatGPT was still limited. However, the post-test results showed a significant increase in understanding and acceptance of ChatGPT integration in learning. The acceptance survey indicated that 82% of students and 78% of teachers felt the use of ChatGPT was effective and fulfilled the learning needs. Although some respondents expressed a lack of effectiveness in the use of AI technology in teaching, the high level of acceptance indicates a positive response to the use of AI technology in the classroom, signalling the importance of adapting innovative learning methods. This activity successfully improved the quality of learning and encouraged the integration of advanced technology in education. Keywords: chatgpt; smart learning;  artificial intelligence; training.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the Halal Study Center in every State Islamic University in Indonesia. Data collection in this study was gained using the interview method and also literature review. Interviews were conducted directly with several sources, while the literature review was performed by collecting journals regarding the research problems. The findings show that eight State Islamic University already have halal study centers out of the total number of State Islamic University in Indonesia, 27 in total. Furthermore, some of the State Islamic University that have established halal study centers also have development activities. The practical implications of this paper provide new knowledge for the State Islamic University that will establish a halal study center. This is the first article that discusses the development of research trends in the halal study center at the State Islamic University and provides the latest comprehensive literature review until 2021.

Abstract

There are differences in the mosques performed before and during the Covid-19 pandemic, but these differences do not hinder the mosque's goals. This study aims to find out how the role of mosques in fostering reading the Qur'an during the Covid-19 pandemic and the inhibiting and supporting factors. Research on the involvement of mosques in the development of reading the Koran during the pandemic has been explored using a qualitative case study approach. The data collected was obtained using field research methods and literature studies. The findings in this study explain that the power of mosques as educational centers continues during the Covid-19 pandemic. The spirit of reading the Koran during the pandemic encountered several obstacles. This study provides distribution in theory and practice for Muslims during the Covid-19 pandemic for empowering mosques as an educational center.
