Abstract

ABSTRACT Breast care is an effort to stimulate the secretion of the hormones oxytocin and prolactin to produce breast milk as early as possible and play an important role in dealing with breastfeeding problems. Breast milk is one of the important components for mothers to pay attention to because it contains colostrum, and this colostrum contains many antibodies for the baby's immune system, so exclusive breastfeeding is very important to reduce the risk of disease and death in infants. Octane massage can increase milk production because it can stimulate the strength of the pectoralis muscle. This study aims to describe the effect of an Octane Breast Massage on a mother's milk production. This research method is a literature study in search of article data sources carried out through Pubmed, EBSCO-host, ScienceDirect, Springer, Garuda, and Google Scholar (2017-2022) to retrieve relevant articles published in English and Indonesian with the type of quasi-experimental and randomized controlled trial. Based on a literature study of 7 research articles with the duration of the intervention starting from the fastest 3 days and the longest being 14 days, it was found that the octane massage intervention was effective for the smooth production of breast milk. Keywords: Breast Milk Production, Octane, Postpartum

Abstract

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a global problem that is expected to increase along with the increasing rate of population aging. Monoclonal antibodies (mAb) are considered capable of overcoming the accumulation of amyloid-β plaques; pathological signs of AD. This study aims to explore the potential of mAbs as alternative pharmacological therapies for the elderly with AD. This study uses a scoping review design based on the PAGER framework. The results of the study were identified based on the PRISMA-ScR protocol and criticized using the JBI Critical Appraisal Checklist. Article searches were conducted through 3 databases including EBSCO-Host Academic Science Complete, PubMed, and ScienceDirect, and 3 online resources including Sage Journals, Taylor Francis, and Google Scholar. Inclusion criteria were full English text, primary research articles, and published between 2018-2022.A total of 8 articles were included in the review. Most of the evidence shows 6 mAbs have potential to reduce amyloid-β accumulation in AD patients. Alternative therapy with monoclonal antibodies has side effects that represent a major problem in the high incidence of vasogenic cerebral edema and micro cerebral hemorrhage or Amyloid Related Imaging Abnormalities (ARIA). Plasma tau has the potential to strengthen the clinical diagnosis of AD. The use of mAbs as AD immunotherapy can reduce amyloid-β with side effects that are monitored continuously. Differences in mAb examination results can be influenced by less accurate clinical diagnostic accuracy.

Abstract

Background: Anemia during pregnancy is one of the most common disorders, especially in middle and poor economic countries, including Indonesia. Anemia is closely related to nutrition consumed during pregnancy. Objectives: This research aimed to explore the experience of nutritional fulfillment in pregnant women with a history of anemia during pregnancy. Methods: The research used a qualitative design with a phenomenological approach. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with inclusion criteria, so a sample of 20 pregnant women with a history of anemia was obtained. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured in-depth interviews. Data analysis used the Colaizzi method. Results: The results showed five themes: lack of intake and diversification of food types during pregnancy; food processing with hot temperatures and dry intensity reduces the nutritional value of food; choosing the type of food without knowing its benefits can affect health; several types of vegetables, fruit, and protein are dietary restrictions during pregnancy; and non-compliance in consuming Fe tablets regularly. Fulfillment of nutritional status is essential for pregnant women and must be fulfilled thoroughly so that anemia does not occur during pregnancy. Conclusions: Mothers' lack of knowledge and inability to care for themselves during pregnancy. Lack of information, starting from the selection, processing, and consumption of food during pregnancy, can increase the mother's health risks, including anemia. Pregnant women must improve prenatal care to get education about fulfilling nutrition during pregnancy.

Abstract

Background: Adolescent populations face reproductive health challenges. Persisting gaps in Triad Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) comprehension and risky behaviors emphasize the necessity of integrating social media apps into health education to address Triad ARH risks among youths. Teenagers commonly use WhatsApp and LINE for social media communication, and determining the effectiveness of these two apps is scarce. Objective: This quasi-experimental study aimed to investigate and compare the impacts of educational interventions delivered through WhatsApp and LINE platforms on enhancing the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of adolescents concerning the Triad ARH.     Methods: A total of 154 senior high school students were randomly recruited from two public schools in Bandung Regency, West Java, Indonesia. These students were divided into two groups: Group A, consisting of 78 students who received material messages using LINE, and Group B, consisting of 76 students who received material messages using WhatsApp. Participants completed a pre-test prior to the intervention and a post-test one month after the intervention. Data were collected using validated questionnaires and analyzed using Chi-square and Wilcoxon tests. Results: In the LINE group, there was an average increase in knowledge from 15.68 to 20.21, attitudes from 29.05 to 59.12, and behavior from 55.95 to 64.81 before and after the intervention period (p = 0.001). In the WhatsApp group, there was an increase in knowledge from 15.16 to 19.67, in attitudes from 34.71 to 59.54, and behavior from 54.75 to 65.97 before and after the intervention period (p = 0.001). Further analysis showed no significant difference between the LINE and WhatsApp groups in increasing the average level of knowledge (p = 0.973), attitude (p = 0.682), and behavior (p = 0.067) before and after the intervention. However, it was observed that the increase in knowledge and attitude was slightly higher in the LINE group, while the increase in behavior was slightly higher in the WhatsApp group. Conclusion: This study demonstrates that educational interventions using LINE and WhatsApp both increased the knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of adolescents related to the Triad ARH. This finding is valuable, considering the popularity of LINE and WhatsApp as mobile applications. Leveraging these platforms by nurses and other healthcare professionals can significantly improve adolescents’ health, influencing their knowledge, attitudes, and behavior regarding reproductive health.

Abstract

Background:  Indonesia is still the country with the highest stunting prevalence rate, occupying the 5th position in the world and the 2nd highest in Southeast Asia. Reducing the incidence of stunting is one of the goals in Indonesia's global target in 2025 and is also an indicator of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely zero hunger. Data from the Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey shows that the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia from 2021 to 2022 has decreased from 24.4% to 21.6%. The media used is the Lampu Juara module with the consideration that this module has an attractive design and is divided into three special series which makes it easy for readers to take it anywhere. Purpose: To determine the effect of the Lampu Juara module on mothers' knowledge and attitudes regarding stunting prevention. Method: Quantitative research pre-experimental one group and post test design and the sample was selected using total sampling. Carried out in Jatimukti Village, Jatinangor District in October 2023. The population in this research is Women of Childbearing Age (WUS) who are 50 Lampu Juara participants. The independent variable in this research is the Lampu Juara module and the dependent variable is the mother's knowledge and attitude in preventing stunting. Inclusion criteria include WUS and mothers who actively participate in the Lampu Juara girls' school program. Data analysis uses univariate analysis, namely frequency distribution and bivariate using the Paired Sample T-test. Results: For the knowledge variable, a p-value was obtained of 0.001 (< α=0.05), so that H0 was rejected and Ha was proven, namely that there was an influence of the Lampu Juara module on maternal knowledge in preventing stunting. Meanwhile, for the attitude variable, a p-value was obtained of 1,000 (> α= 0.05), so that H0 was accepted and Ha was rejected, namely that there was no influence of the Lampu Juara module on mothers' attitudes in preventing stunting. Conclusion: Shows that there is a positive relationship between the Lampu Juara module and mothers' knowledge in preventing stunting (p= 0.001 < α 0.05). However, there was no positive relationship with mothers' attitudes towards preventing stunting (p= 1,000 > α 0.05).   Keywords: Attitude; Knowledge; Module; Stunting.   Pendahuluan: Indonesia masih menjadi negara dengan angka prevalensi stunting tertinggi yang menduduki posisi ke-5 di dunia dan peringkat ke-2 tertinggi di Asia Tenggara. Abstract

This research aims to determine the impact of fear on intranatal and postnatal processes. The research method used was a scoping review of articles about the effects of fear of giving birth by searching database sources from Pubmed, Ebsco, and the Google Scholar search engine. The keywords used for the first search are "Childbirth Fear" AND "Impact of Childbirth Fear" OR "Effects of Childbirth Fear". Research results show that fear of giving birth that continues or is not handled correctly can cause mental well-being disorders after giving birth. These include postnatal anxiety, postnatal depression, and posttraumatic stress disorder. Persistent, unresolved fears can affect the bond between mother and baby. A prolonged fear of giving birth can increase the risk of premature birth or a baby with a low birth weight. The nursing intervention that can be carried out is making a directed and comprehensive birth plan involving the medical and nursing team. In conclusion, fear can trigger a stress response and increase physical and emotional tension in pregnant women during labor, causing delayed delivery or hindering the progression of work. Continued fear can lead to posttraumatic stress disorder, postpartum depression, or difficulty in meeting their baby's emotional and mental needs. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the comparison of health education on breastfeeding techniques using video media with leaflets on the prevention of sore nipples in postpartum mothers. The research method used was quasi-experimental with a two-group pre-test-posttest design. The research results show a comparison of knowledge and skills in leaflet media and video media after education, namely that there is no significant difference in understanding with a p-value of 0.301. Still, there is a substantial difference in skills with a p-value of 0.008; video media health education influences skills. Postpartum mothers should use breastfeeding techniques because they attract more attention and provide auditory and visual stimuli simultaneously to maximize results. In conclusion, video media health education can be used to improve the skills of postpartum mothers so that video media can be an alternative for delivering information to postpartum mothers.
