Abstract

One of the purposes of the Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) is to pursue the gender equality and womenempowerment to eradicate the gender gap. In general, there has been existed partnership between men and women in daily living. Theaims of the study were to analyze: (1) The characteristics of the undergraduate students, (2) The characteristics of the students’ family(parents’ education, parents’ occupation, and family income), and (3) the perception of students toward gender roles in domestic and publicsocialactivities. Results pointed out that women are viewed by community as actors who have roles in expresssive figures and havefunctions as care taker and educator of the family, while men are viewed by community as actors who have roles in instrumental figures andhave functions as main breadwinner. Women have more gender perspective than men. It means that women have thought in more flexibleways that gender roles could be changed and exchanged between men and women. Based on the Spearmen correlation test, it showed thatthe more individual has gender perspectives in domestic gender roles, the more that individual has gender perspectives in public and socialroles, and vice versa. Finally, there was indication that the higher the social status of the father, then the more perception of the father towardpublic and social roles that tended to be part of the men’s roles rather than women’s roles, as patriarchy system placed men to be mainbreadwinners.

The sampling technique used non-probability purposive sampling with several samples of as many as 128 people. The data was processed using descriptive and inferential tests and multiple linear regression using SPSS 25 and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using SmartPLS 3.0. The correlation test results showed a positive correlation between marital adjustment, gender role partnerships, and marital satisfaction. The results of the linear regression test showed that the husband's income had a significant positive effect on marital satisfaction. Correlation tests, linear regression test results, and SEM showed that marital adjustment and gender role partnerships significantly positively affected marital satisfaction. Abstract

The misalignment of gender roles can affect the quality of marriage because it causes conditions of injustice, and one of the parties will be harmed. This study aims to determine the effect of gender roles in financial management and purchasing decisions on the quality of family marriages during the Covid-19 pandemic. A cross-sectional study design was used in the study. The method used is self-management with an online questionnaire. The study was conducted in DKI Jakarta, which was selected purposively. The voluntary sampling technique was used to obtain 106 working wives who have children and are domiciled in DKI Jakarta. The collected data were processed using Microsoft Office Excel software, Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) 25.0 for windows, and Smart Partial Least Square (SmartPLS). The results showed that the amount of education and income of husbands, children, family size, and gender roles in financial management and purchasing decisions were related to marriage quality. Furthermore, the regression test results show that the husband's income and gender roles in purchasing decisions positively affect the quality of marriage. This study suggests that families further improve the distribution of balanced roles in financial management activities and strategies to improve role performance.

This study aims to analyze coping behavior, e- lifestyle, and happiness of the millennial generation during the Covid-19 pandemic based on gender. The research was conducted by a cross-sectional study using a non-probability voluntary sampling method. Data collection was carried out in April, and the study samples were obtained from 32 males and 68 females. Primary data was taken using a google form distributed to the millennial generation aged 22-41 years and living in Bogor, West Java. The results of the descriptive analysis show that coping behavior, e- lifestyle, and happiness of the millennial generation during the Covid-19 pandemic are in the moderate category. The results of the different tests found no significant differences by gender in coping behavior, e-lifestyle, and millennial happiness. The SEM-PLS model shows that coping behavior significantly affects e- lifestyle. Abstract

Parental conflict and divorce trends have been increasing over the years and hinder parents from nurturing their children, particularly fathers. Fathers are more likely to disengage in parenting after a divorce. This may affect children in their romantic relationships in later life. This study aimed to examine the effects of parental conflict and divorce and father parenting practices towards self-efficacy in romantic relationships of young adults male. The study applied quantitative methods with correlational, comparative, and regression analysis. 62 male and single young adults whose parents were divorced before the age of 18 were involved and chosen with purposive sampling. The data was collected by using the children's perception of interparental conflict scale (α=0.92), parental acceptance-rejection questionnaire (α=0.86), and self-efficacy in romantic relationship scale (α=0.89). The results revealed that there is a partial correlation between parental conflict intensity and relationship anxiety and other aspects related to the self-efficacy of young male adults. Paired t-test illustrated differences in self-efficacy in romantic relationships based on individual characteristics and father parenting practices (negative). Regression analysis also demonstrated a significant effect of father parenting practices, both positive and negative, towards self-efficacy in romantic relationships. In conclusion, the efficacy of romantic relationships in early adulthood from divorced families is influenced by negative paternal parenting.

Abstract

Families in Indonesia experienced changes and economic pressures in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. This research is very important to know the full picture of family resilience in Indonesia, especially in the economic aspect. This study analyzes economic changes, coping strategies, and their effects on subjective family welfare at the pandemic's start. Data were collected through a Family Condition Survey, carried out specifically through online media, for 14 days in 34 provinces. The unit of analysis in this study is the family, that is married couples who have or do not have children, with a total sample of 20,680 respondents. This study conducted univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analyses using Cross Tabulation, Chi-Square Test and Binary Logistic Regression with Odds Ratio. The results of the study show that there are worsening economic changes, such as working conditions, finances and food adequacy. In this case, environmental factors are the family's socioeconomic and financial conditions (education, income, employment), which are still the main factors and significantly influence the subjective well-being of the family. However, the subjective welfare of families in Indonesia is still quite good; most families are still happy, remain grateful, and communicate well. Coping strategies in managing family finances, such as saving and using savings, are the most widely used. However, these efforts are constrained by low family income and increased additional needs during the pandemic. There is a need for further research that can fully describe post-pandemic family economic coping strategies in the last 12 months.
