Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the drumband extracurricular program at SD Negeri 2 Kedungjati using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model, which is integrated with the stages of school management. The CIPP model was chosen because it provides a comprehensive overview of program implementation, starting from planning, execution, to the outcomes achieved. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and data triangulation. The results show that in terms of context, the drumband extracurricular program aligns with students’ needs and supports the school’s vision and mission. From the input aspect, the program is supported by competent trainers and supervising teachers, although some limitations in facilities and infrastructure still exist. The process aspect indicates that the activities are carried out in a structured manner and receive support from various parties. In terms of product, the program has had a positive impact on students, especially in fostering discipline, self-confidence, and teamwork skills. Although the program has not yet achieved success in formal competitions, students’ participation in community events serves as an added value. Overall, the drumband extracurricular program has contributed positively to the character development of students. The findings of this evaluation are expected to serve as a consideration in developing more effective and sustainable extracurricular programs in the future.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has led to a decline in student character, particularly in politeness, empathy, and respectful social behavior. In response, SD Negeri Gendongan 01 Salatiga implemented the 5S cultural program (Smile, Greet, Salute, Polite, Courteous) as a strategy for character education. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the 5S program using the CIPP evaluation model (Context, Input, Process, Product) aligned with school management functions. This qualitative evaluative research employed the CIPP model and involved 21 purposively selected participants, including the principal, six teachers, two staff members, and twelve students. Data were gathered through structured interviews, observations, and documentation. The analysis followed Miles and Huberman's qualitative technique, ensuring triangulation for validity. The context evaluation revealed that the 5S program aligns well with the school’s vision and mission, emphasizing the development of character traits. Input evaluation showed strong stakeholder involvement, though limited funding and infrastructure constrained implementation. Process evaluation indicated inconsistency in teacher role modeling and selective student engagement. Product evaluation showed positive behavioral changes in students, but the outcomes were inconsistent and not yet optimal. The findings highlight the crucial role of consistent teacher behavior in influencing student participation and program effectiveness. The integration of the CIPP model with school management phases provides a comprehensive framework for evaluating non-academic programs. This research contributes theoretically to character education implementation and offers practical recommendations for strengthening school-based cultural programs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji pengaruh model pembelajaran SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) berbasis manajemen kelas terhadap kemampuan membaca cerita pendek siswa kelas 5. Penelitian ini merupakan quasi-eksperimental dengan desain non-equivalent control group untuk menunjukan hubungan sebab akibat antar variabel. Populasi terdiri dari 39 siswa yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, eksperimen dan kontrol. Data dikumpulkan melalui posttest berupa soal pilihan ganda yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitas. Analisis data mencakup uji normalitas, homogenitas, dan uji t. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya perbedaan hasil test kemampuan membaca pada kedua kelompok kelas dengan nilai minimum 48 dan nilai maksimum 100. Uji t menunjukan nilai signifikansi 0,031 (<0,05) yang mengindikasikan perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelompok. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah penerapan model SQ3R berbasis manajemen kelas efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa, model SQ3R berbasis manajemen kelas meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap teks secara sistematis melalui tahapan yang terstruktur, serta menciptakan suasana belajar yang lebih kondusif dan interaktif. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar pemahaman konsep IPAS yang teridentifikasi melalui observasi dan asesmen pra siklus di kelas V. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik melalui penerapan model Discovery-Based Learning (DBL) berbantuan alat peraga erupsi gunung berapi. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dalam dua siklus, yang masing-masing mencakup tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 13 peserta didik kelas V SD, terdiri dari 5 laki-laki dan 8 perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi tes tertulis untuk mengukur pemahaman konsep dan observasi untuk menilai aktivitas serta motivasi belajar. Media alat peraga erupsi gunung berapi digunakan untuk memfasilitasi eksplorasi dan eksperimen langsung. Pada tahap prasiklus, tingkat ketuntasan belajar peserta didik masih rendah, dengan ketuntasan 23% dan nilai rata-rata 46,92. Setelah tindakan pada siklus I, ketuntasan belajar meningkat menjadi 54% dengan rata-rata nilai 70,00. Pada siklus II, ketuntasan meningkat menjadi 85% dan rata-rata nilai naik menjadi 86,92. Observasi menunjukkan peningkatan partisipasi peserta didik, terutama saat menggunakan alat peraga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model DBL dengan alat peraga efektif meningkatkan pemahaman konsep IPAS di kelas V. Oleh karena itu, guru disarankan untuk menerapkan model ini guna memperdalam pemahaman konsep peserta didik melalui pembelajaran yang lebih aktif dan kontekstual.

Abstract

Character education is an important part of the learning process for students. It helps to build good values based on Pancasila, so that students can grow not only in academics but also become strong in facing life challenges. This study aims to evaluate how the P5 (Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project) program is carried out at SD Negeri Klero 01. The research uses a qualitative descriptive method with the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, and Product). The participants in this research include the school principal, fifth grade teacher, and fifth grade students who have joined the P5 program. Data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. The results show that: (1) in the context aspect, the program helps strengthen student character and gives real-life learning experiences; (2) in the input aspect, the school has enough teachers and facilities, even though there are still some shortages; (3) in the process aspect, the program runs as planned; and (4) in the product aspect, there are positive changes in student character and the program continues to be implemented. Cooperation between the school and outside parties is needed to make the program more effective

Abstract

The use of digitalization has spread to all levels of society, regardless of social status. This requires the education field to be responsive and able to consistently integrate digitalization into the learning process, so that students are accustomed and develop their competencies. However, unfortunately there are still many schools having difficulty in implementing the integration of digitalization into the learning process, as  well as a study of science and media.  Some of the schools are not even aware whether they are ready to implement the digitalization into differentiated learning..Therefore, to prepare for the digitalization of learning, it is necessary to first analyze how prepared the school is to welcome this era of digitalization.  Thus, the purpose of this study is to analyze the readiness level of digitalization of elementary schools specifically to be carried out in the Bengkayang region, West Kalimantan. The research method used was the descriptive method. The data collection was carried out using a digitalization level measurement instrument, namely as a limited-scale trial stage. Apart from that, unstructured interviews and observations were also carried out to strengthen the data collected. The number of schools that were respondents were 10 elementary schools in Bengkayang. The research results show that 80% of schools are categorized as ‘not ready’, while only 20% are ready to implement differentiated learning. The assessment results from education reports also show the similar condition.

Abstract

Kepemimpinan kepala sekolah merupakan faktor kunci dalam mendorong inovasi dan mewujudkan paradigma baru pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis secara mendalam berbagai inovasi kepemimpinan yang diimplementasikan oleh Kepala Sekolah SD Negeri Wates dalam mengubah sekolah dari kondisi konvensional menuju sekolah yang berparadigma baru, dengan fokus pada pendidikan berbasis lingkungan dan komunitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan kepala sekolah. Analisis data dilakukan secara tematik untuk mengidentifikasi pola-pola inovasi dan dampaknya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepala sekolah menerapkan kepemimpinan inovatif melalui (1) perumusan visi kontekstual yang berwawasan lingkungan; (2) implementasi program-program spesifik seperti Sekolah Adiwiyata dengan berbagai kegiatan turunan (Saberpungli Sadewa, Tana Basa, Jawara Sadewa); (3) inovasi fisik yang mentransformasi wajah sekolah seperti pembangunan gapura; dan (4) pembangunan kemitraan strategis dengan berbagai pihak eksternal. Inovasi-inovasi ini berhasil menggeser paradigma pendidikan di SD Negeri Wates menjadi lebih berpusat pada siswa, kontekstual, kolaboratif, dan relevan dengan kebutuhan lokal. Dampak transformatif terlihat pada peningkatan motivasi siswa dan guru, tumbuhnya kepercayaan masyarakat, serta terwujudnya sekolah sebagai pusat pembelajaran yang dinamis dan inspiratif.

Abstract

The digitalization of school management represents a transformative shift from manual processes to technology-driven systems. This study examines the impact of school management digitalization on enhancing service quality in excellent schools. A descriptive qualitative research approach was employed. Data were collected using questionnaires, interview guidelines, and observation sheets. Instrument validity and reliability were confirmed through expert judgment. The study involved students, teachers, and parents as research participants. Findings indicate that successful school digitalization requires seamless system integration to optimize adaptation and usage. The digitalization process yielded significant improvements in three key areas: accessibility of information, service efficiency, and program evaluation accuracy. Performance indicators showed a 37% increase in service quality, rising from 40% to 77%, demonstrating substantial enhancements in service speed and effectiveness. The study highlights that the positive outcomes of digitalization stem from the integration and user-friendly design of school management systems. Schools that adopt a well-structured digital framework experience greater efficiency, transparency, and stakeholder satisfaction. Digital transformation in school management leads to improved accessibility, service speed, and program evaluation. The findings underscore the importance of an integrated and user-centric approach to digitalization, ensuring enhanced performance and streamlined school operations. Future research should explore long-term impacts and scalability in diverse educational settings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of adaptive leadership by a school principal in managing teachers’ adaptive challenges in an elementary school. The research employed a qualitative approach with a single case study design. The participant was a principal selected purposively as the key informant. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews and documentation, and analyzed using thematic analysis supported by MAXQDA software and the Miles and Huberman interactive analysis model. Data credibility was ensured through member checking. The findings indicate that the implementation of adaptive leadership is characterized by the dominant practices of holding environment, giving the work back, and protecting voices from below. The principal created a psychologically safe space for dialogue, actively involved teachers in problem solving, and protected diverse perspectives within the organization. The challenges faced by teachers were not only technical but also adaptive, particularly related to mindset changes in inclusive education practices. Resistance appeared in the form of anxiety and professional uncertainty, which were managed through open communication and collaboration. The study concludes that adaptive leadership is effective when it emphasizes psychological safety, collective participation, and teacher empowerment as agents of change. These findings contribute to strengthening school leadership practices that are responsive to the complexity of educational change

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of trait-based leadership of school principals in managing teachers’ trait-related challenges in elementary schools. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with a literature study design. Data were obtained from scientific journals, books, and relevant research reports published in the last ten years. Data analysis was conducted using interactive analysis techniques, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that principals’ leadership traits such as integrity, emotional stability, openness, decisiveness, and empathy significantly influence their effectiveness in managing diverse teacher characteristics. Teachers’ trait-related challenges include resistance to change, low adaptability, lack of collaboration, and varying professional commitment. Effective leadership implementation is reflected in the principal’s ability to model positive character, build constructive communication, and foster a supportive school climate. The study concludes that trait-based leadership remains relevant in elementary school management, particularly when integrated with contextual and relational approaches.
