Abstract

Organic waste management is still a major challenge in various regions, especially in urban and rural areas that do not yet have an efficient management system. One promising approach is the use of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the Smart Trash system. This study aims to design and implement an IoT-based smart trash system that is able to detect the volume, weight, and composition of organic waste in real-time. Using the prototype method, this system is built with the integration of ultrasonic sensors, weight sensors, and NodeMCU microcontrollers connected to the IoT ThingSpeak platform. The implementation results show that the system is able to provide accurate information and automatic notifications to users when the trash is full or rotting occurs. This system also supports waste sorting from the source, accelerates the recycling process, and supports the zero waste concept. With this technological approach, the community can be encouraged to actively participate in smarter and more sustainable waste management.

Abstract

The election of village heads is an integral part of the democratic process at the local level. However, there are often challenges in the vote-counting process that can impede the smooth implementation of village head elections. This article proposes designing a web-based Real Count information system for village head elections in the Tanah Sepenggal Lintas District. The main issue identified is the delay in vote counting, affecting the speed of the official announcement of results by the General Election Commission (KPU). The research methodology includes problem identification, analysis, goal setting, literature review, data collection, system analysis, system design, testing, and implementation. The resulting system aims to expedite and enhance the accuracy of vote counting using web-based technology, notably PHP and MySQL. This approach is expected to address traditional challenges in vote counting and provide quick and efficient information on the results of village head elections. The research findings indicate that the designed Real Count information system successfully improves the efficiency of vote counting, reduces the waiting time for official announcements, and provides transparent information on election results. Implementing this system is expected to positively enhance the integrity and speed of village head elections at the local level.

Abstract

This research discusses the design of a postage revenue information system for Temiang Island Post packages using the waterfall method. This method was chosen to ensure a structured and organized development process. The stage involves analyzing system requirements through interviews with stakeholders and in-depth understanding of business processes. System design includes database structure, user interface, and business logic, followed by the implementation phase utilizing web-based technology. Testing is carried out thoroughly to ensure system reliability, security and performance. This includes functionality, security, and performance testing to ensure that the system can operate effectively in a production environment. The system maintenance stage is implemented to ensure the system remains optimal and can adapt to changing needs. The results of this research are expected to provide practical guidance for organizations such as Pos Pulau Temiang in designing a web-based postage revenue information system. By applying the waterfall method, it is hoped that system development can be carried out in a structured and efficient manner. The conclusion of this research is that the waterfall method can be an effective approach in designing a web-based information system for postage revenue management in the Temiang Island Post operational environment.

Abstract

In the world of education, the figure of a qualified educator is needed. The main task of the teacher is to teach, educate, guide, direct, train, assess, and evaluate students. In order to improve the quality of education, it is necessary to have a form of appreciation so that the quality of a teacher is even better. The form of appreciation for the teacher is applied by selecting outstanding teachers. The problem is that the selection process for outstanding teachers is still subjective. Because it is only based on the personal opinion of each teacher and is not based on certain criteria. The method used in this study is the Simple Additeve Weighting (SAW) method, often known as the weighted addition method. To avoid the subjectivity of the resulting decisions, a decision support system (DSS) is needed that can help assess teacher performance in deciding to become an outstanding teacher.

Abstract

The characteristic of modern education today is the emphasis on students' active and creative participation, which includes intellectual and emotional aspects in the learning process. In the context of learning graphic printing skills, the focus is on developing students' operational capacity, both mentally and physically. However, observations and interviews at SMK Negeri 7 Sijunjung show that learning needs to be more varied. Some teachers teach using conventional methods, such as games, demonstrations, and videos, while students follow the teacher's instructions without being actively and creatively involved. This makes learning less attractive for students as an alternative to increasing student engagement. This research was conducted through two cycles, each involving planning, implementing actions, observing, and reflecting. The action was carried out by utilizing internet media and other information technology and giving students project assignments. The research results showed an increase in students' average activity and creativity from one meeting to the next at the end of the second cycle. This indicates that the use of the project-based learning model can increase student involvement, and this model can be applied to help students develop their respective competencies.

Abstract

Mathematics learning on two-dimensional shapes in elementary schools is often hindered by the abstract nature of the material, whereas students aged 7–11 years are still operating within the concrete operational stage. This condition led to low learning outcomes among fourth-grade students at SDN 11 Sitiung, where baseline data showed that 66.67% of students had not achieved the minimum mastery standard due to the dominance of conventional teaching methods. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using animated video learning media in improving the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade students regarding plane shapes. This research employed a field experimental method with a pre-experimental design, specifically the one-group pretest-posttest design. The population and sample consisted of all 18 fourth-grade students at SDN 11 Sitiung. The research data incuded questionnaires and written tests was  20-item multiple-choice test, which was verified as valid and reliable (α=0.855). Data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and hypothesis testing via the Paired Sample T-Test using SPSS 27. The results indicated a significant improvement in learning outcomes following the intervention. The students' average score increased by 23.06, rising from 55.28 in the pretest to 78.33 in the posttest. Classical mastery also improved, with the number of passing students increasing from 4 to 12. The Paired Sample T-Test yielded a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000, which is lower than the significance level of 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05), thereby rejecting H0 and accepting Ha. The use of animated video learning media has a significant effect on improving the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade students regarding two-dimensional shapes at SDN 11 Sitiung. This audiovisual medium effectively bridges the gap between abstract concepts and concrete understanding while enhancing students' focus and active engagement in the learning process.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the real field issues of low motivation and learning outcomes among Grade IV elementary school students in Science and Social Studies (IPAS), particularly on the topic 'Forces Around Us'. Conventional learning media such as printed textbooks and black-and-white worksheets tend to be monotonic and fail to facilitate contextual learning needs based on the Independent Curriculum. This Research and Development (R&D) study using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) aims to produce an interactive Electronic Student Worksheet (E-LKPD) based on the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model using Canva and the Liveworksheets platform that is valid, practical, and effective. The results demonstrated that the validation scores achieved 93.75% for language (Very Valid), 78.00% for content/material (Valid), 85.00% for graphics (Very Valid), 86.00% for the teaching module (Very Valid), and 86.00% for test items (Very Valid). The practicality score from the teacher reached 97.3%, and students' responses ranged between 95% and 100% (Very Practical). The effectiveness test proved a significant improvement in learning outcomes, reaching a classical mastery rate of 92.31% in the main field trial and 90.90% in the dissemination phase. In conclusion, the developed interactive E-LKPD based on PBL using Liveworksheets is highly feasible, practical, and effective as an innovative learning medium in elementary schools.

Abstract

Elementary Natural and Social Science (IPAS) learning continues to face challenges, including the limited availability of contextual digital teaching materials, the lack of integration between ecopedagogical principles and the Adiwiyata Program, and low student engagement during the learning process. This study aimed to develop an ecopedagogy-based IPAS e-module to support the implementation of the Adiwiyata Program at SD Negeri 01 Padang Laweh. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4-D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The research participants consisted of expert validators, fifth-grade teachers, and fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 01 Padang Laweh, while the limited dissemination stage was conducted at SD Negeri 05 Padang Laweh. The research instruments included validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, observation sheets, and learning achievement tests. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis based on product feasibility percentages. The results indicated that the developed e-module achieved a validity score of 93.16%, categorized as highly valid. The practicality test showed teacher responses of 100% and student responses of 88.43%, both classified as highly practical. Furthermore, the effectiveness test demonstrated 100% learning mastery during both the implementation and limited dissemination stages. These findings indicate that the ecopedagogy-based IPAS e-module meets the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness, making it suitable as a digital learning resource to support contextual IPAS learning while strengthening the implementation of the Adiwiyata Program in elementary schools.

Abstract

Abstract: Dispute resolution in the waqf land context is a matter of particular legal complexity; thus, it requires special attention. This research aims to provide a comparative analysis of waqf land dispute resolution mechanisms in Indonesia and Malaysia, with a focus on the role of local cultural values and Islamic legal norms. The present research employs a normative legal research approach, which involves the identification of legal rules, principles and doctrines to provide a resolution to the legal issues under consideration. The results indicate that the resolution of waqf land disputes in Indonesia and Malaysia uses divergent legal and cultural approaches. Despite the adherence to the Islamic waqf principle, there are discernible discrepancies in the dispute resolution methods, legal structures and cultural influences exhibited by these two nations. The influence of local cultural values on the two nations is evident. Indonesia places significant value on deliberation, cooperation and social sustainability, whereas Malaysia places greater emphasis on negotiation, mediation and economics. This research aims to provide tangible insights into institutional reforms and digital innovations in waqf governance and expand comparative analyses to other Islamic jurisdictions, thereby enriching the global discourse on waqf legal practices and dispute resolution.

Abstract

Enforcement of criminal law as the central pillar in maintaining security and public order places the police as a significant element. In this dynamic, police doctors become crucial elements who significantly contribute to police operations. This research focuses on the essential function of police doctors in increasing the effectiveness of criminal law enforcement to achieve justice and the obstacles police doctors face in carrying out their duties to improve fairness in criminal law enforcement. The type of research used in this writing is normative legal research, often called doctrinal research. The discussion results show that forensic medicine is the main focus in helping uncover criminal cases. Police doctors are involved in medical examinations of victims and suspects, providing evidence that strengthens the case at trial. Their role also includes identifying victims through forensic processes and ensuring accurate identification. However, in carrying out their duties, police doctors face several obstacles. Limited resources, time pressure, emotional conditions, and lack of interdisciplinary collaboration are challenges that must be overcome. Awareness of the ethical aspects of law and understanding of the latest forensic technology are also crucial elements in ensuring their effectiveness. Through an in-depth knowledge of the functions and constraints of police doctors, it is hoped that this research will positively contribute to developing more efficient and data-based law enforcement strategies and policies toward realizing justice in criminal law enforcement.Penegakan hukum pidana sebagai pilar utama dalam menjaga keamanan dan ketertiban masyarakat menempatkan kepolisian sebagai elemen sentral. Dalam dinamika ini, dokter kepolisian menjadi unsur krusial yang memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap operasional kepolisian. Penelitian ini fokus pada fungsi krusial dokter kepolisian dalam peningkatan efektivitas penegakan hukum pidana untuk mencapai keadilan dan kendala yang dihadapi oleh dokter kepolisian dalam melaksanakan tugasnya untuk meningkatkan keadilan dalam penegakan hukum pidana. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penulisan ini adalah penelitian hukum normatif atau sering disebut sebagai penelitian doctrinal. Hasil pembahan menunjukkan ilmu kedokteran forensik menjadi fokus utama dalam membantu pengungkapan kasus kriminal. Dokter kepolisian terlibat dalam pemeriksaan medis terhadap korban dan tersangka, menyediakan bukti medis yang memperkuat kasus dalam persidangan. Peran mereka juga mencakup identifikasi korban melalui proses forensik, memastikan identifikasi yang akurat. Namun, dalam melaksanakan tugasnya, dokter kepolisian menghadapi sejumlah kendala. Keterbatasan sumber daya, tekanan waktu, kondisi emosional, dan kurangnya kerjasama interdisipliner menjadi tantangan yang perlu diatasi. Kesadaran terhadap aspek-etika hukum dan pemahaman teknologi forensik terkini juga menjadi elemen krusial dalam memastikan efektivitas mereka. Melalui pemahaman yang mendalam terhadap fungsi dan kendala dokter kepolisian, diharapkan penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi positif dalam pengembangan strategi dan kebijakan penegakan hukum yang lebih efisien dan berbasis data, menuju terwujudnya keadilan dalam penegakan hukum pidana.
