Abstract

HORMONE AND EPILEPSY INTERACTIONABSTRACTHormones are signaling chemical molecules between cells that circulated in blood within the human body and play important roles for human being. Unfortunately, not all their functions are known, especially in epilepsy. Studies reported interactions between hormones and epilepsy, also with antiepileptic drugs (AEDs). For example, seizures may be induced by estrogen, whileAEDs can decrease hormone level by inducing enzyme in P450 cytochrome and accelerating hormone clearance. These conditions are known as tridirectional interactions. Understanding the interactions between hormones, epilepsy and AEDs would raise an awareness and insight for clinicians especially neurologist for basic knowledges as considerations in treating patients with epilepsy.

Abstract

Pricing / variation of costs is one of the strategic steps that must be taken because it refers to costs incurred, both marginal and total costs, including indirect costs (overhead costs). Cesarean section (SC) surgery is one of the most common actions performed in the operating room which also requires careful planning of service costs, so that the appropriate price setting for the hospital can do activities without reducing service quality. This paper aims to look at the different costs of SC in Indonesia based on the class / level of the hospital and hospital ownership, whether the hospital is owned by the government or private / private as well as classes or treatment rooms. Another purpose of this paper is to look at the different proportions of costs that occur in the SC cost component. The method used in this paper is a comparison of data or literature studies from 20 hospitals in the UI library, and to be able to compare these data and avoid the difference in inflation, it is necessary to do the data collection or presentation of valuation (PV). The case of SC chosen was a normal case of SC without emergency and complication. There are intervals / variations that are quite wide service costs and the proportion of cost components (services, accommodation, medical and drug examinations, stationery and BHP) in both public and private hospitals in various types of hospitals. The role of hospital management in determining service rates / prices is one of the keys to success in hospital marketing strategies, reinforced from research from many other countries. Hospitals whose proportion of service cost components are not in accordance with existing regulations so that they immediately revise so that there is no disruption in hospital services, especially since the UHC was declared by the government. Abstract

After the implementation of halal product assurance (HPA) became a public policy, the assurance for halal pharmaceutical products is a must. However, the implementation has been relaxed for several years. This shows that the policy implementation is complicated. This study aimed to analyze and evaluate the implementation process of the HPA policy for pharmaceutical products in Indonesia. We applied Van Meter Van Horn’s theory using the qualitative method through in-depth interviews with eight informants and a review ten documents. The result shows that the implementation is going well but is still not optimal, especially from the point of view regarding halal certification for pharmaceutical products. The main obstacle for business actors in this implementation is obtaining halal raw materials because most of them are still imported. Moreover, a lack of massive socialization and education have also appeared. All stakeholders involved should improve performance according to their respective duties to implement better when the obligation has begun.

Abstract

The Cardiovascular disease (CVD) prevalence continues to increase. This study aims to identify the CVD spending and utilization in the Indonesia National Health Insurance (JKN) scheme 2017-2021 using the JKN claims classified by Disease Accounts analyzed descriptively. The CVD spending increased by $125,4 million in 2019 compared to 2017 and mostly for the hospital (91% in 2019) with the highest spending occurring in the age above 60 years. Moreover, the hospital inpatient spending was dominated during these five years. The highest portion of spending by severity level was at mild level, followed by moderate and severe levels. Health facilities’ capacities across the regions remain the issue in providing health services, especially for the CVD that require further treatment using advanced technology. The CVD cost continues to increase annually; fortunately, the JKN plays a key role as financial protection for participants. But, there was a decrease in the number of visits and spending on CVD during the COVID-19 pandemic because of lockdown policies and health systems shifting to provide capacity to overcome COVID-19. The decrease in the number of visits to health facilities raises the potential of being diagnosed later with more severe. As policy recommendations, strengthening primary care screening and hospital capacity across regions through implementing the Health System Transformation are expected to reduce the impact of these problems.
