Abstract

The aim of this research is to investigate the impact of investor sentiment on value and stocks return. Two investor sentiment indicators, volatility index VIX and sentiment index are used as independent variables. Technical proxies (relative strength index, psychological line index, trading volumes and adjusted turnover rate) are used to construct sentiment index using principal component analysis. The dependent variable is value and growth stocks return formed based on the book to market ratio. Three Fama-French factors are used as control variables to isolate the impact of investor sentiment from systematic risk and fundamental factors. We use companies listed on Kompas 100 index over the sample period February 2017-January 2023. The sampling technique was carried out by purposive sampling and obtained 45 companies as the research samples. The empirical analysis employs multiple regression analysis using 1.385 daily time series computed by Microsoft Excel and Stata 13. The regression results indicate that volatility index VIX has a negative significant effect on value and growth stocks return. Sentiment index has a positive and significant effect on value stocks return but does not have a significant effect on growth stocks return. Investor sentiment has a greater effect on value stocks than growth stocks.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between intangible assets and firm value moderated by the role of managerial ability. The study used 498 companies from 2012 to 2022 on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Data was processed using unbalanced panel regression, using Eviews application version 13. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the adoption of cashless payments in West Sumatra using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model. The variables studied include Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Social Influence, Facilitating Conditions, and Lifestyle Compatibility on the Intention to Use and Adoption of Cashless Payments, moderated by gender and level of education. The method used in this research is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0. Data was obtained from questionnaires distributed to 210 respondents in the cities of Padang, Pariaman, Padang Panjang, Bukittinggi, Payakumbuh, and Solok. The results showed that facilitating conditions and compatibility had a significant positive effect on the intention to use cashless payments, while perceived usefulness, ease of use, and social influence had no effect on the intention to use cashless payments. Furthermore, the intention to use cashless payments had a significant positive effect on the adoption of cashless payments. Meanwhile, gender and education level did not have a significant effect on the relationship between the independent variables and the intention to use cashless payments. This study implies that the government needs to improve facilities and technological support for cashless payment users. It also suggests that researchers should consider other variables that may affect the use of cashless payments in future studies.

Abstract

Investment decisions are a person's actions to determine and allocate capital to certain assets or companies with the aim of obtaining profits in the future. In making investment decisions one must have financial knowledge to plan investments properly. This is important so that the investment decisions taken have clear and directed objectives. This research aims to find out how financial literacy, religiosity and investment knowledge influence investment decision making through investment intention as an intervening variable. This study uses a quantitative approach, namely by distributing questionnaires as a means of collecting data. The number of respondents was 160 people who were investors in Padang City, and the selection of respondents was carried out using a saturated sampling method (census). Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was chosen as the data analysis method using the SmartPLS 4 application as an analysis tool. In the research, the results showed that financial literacy, religiosity, investment knowledge and investment intention had a positive effect on investment decisions. Likewise, financial literacy and investment knowledge have a positive effect on investment decisions through investment intention. However, religiosity does not have a positive effect on investment decisions through investment intention.
