Abstract

Bali is rich in natural beauty and culture, one of which is Balinese music. Balinese music with local themes is often overlooked by the public, even though it has deep meaning and specific objectives from the creator. Researchers are interested in conducting a critical discourse analysis of the lyrics of the Balinese song “Taksu Bali” by Harmonia feat Gus Teja using Teun A. Van Dijk's theory. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method, involving reading, analyzing, and classifying the lyrics of the song “Taksu Bali” by Harmonia feat. Gus Teja using Teun A. Van Dijk's approach. The results obtained from this study are that the macro-level structural elements of the song's topic are the cultural identity crisis of Bali in the era of modernization. The superstructure contains schematic elements such as introduction, verse, pre-chorus, chorus, refrain, bridge, modulation, ending, and coda. The macro-level structure includes setting, performance, implied meaning, word choice, and metaphor usage. The results of critical discourse analysis help reveal implied messages that may not be noticed by listeners, thereby increasing critical awareness of popular cultural content. This research can serve as an important reference for researchers and cultural practitioners in exploring the hidden social and political meanings in traditional and modern musical works.

Abstract

Purpose – The Merdeka Curriculum is a curriculum with diverse extracurricular learning where the content will be more optimal so that students have sufficient time to deepen concepts and strengthen competencies. However, in practice in schools, especially in junior high schools that have implemented the Merdeka curriculum, it turns out that there are still many students who experience difficulties in understanding and mastering learning. One of them is learning Indonesian. This research aims to analyze the application of the scramble-type cooperative model in learning news texts.Method – This research uses a qualitative descriptive research design. The sample in this study amounted to 170 respondents. The instruments used in this research are observation and interview instruments to collect data related to the research. The data validity technique used in this research includes testing the credibility of the data by triangulation by presenting the data in the form of narrative text.Findings – Based on the research results, it was concluded that the Scramble cooperative learning model could increase students' activeness, critical thinking, and interest, which ultimately influenced student learning outcomes in learning Indonesian in the classroom. The use of the Scramble learning model triggers student activity, thus changing a class of passive students into active ones. However, the Scramble cooperative learning model has several obstacles faced by teachers, such as the need for time to prepare, the difficulty of conditioning students, the teacher must understand the character and abilities of students and the class becomes noisy. Research Implications – This research implies that teachers need to further improve their professionalism, namely by improving teaching methods that are good and enjoyable for students.

Data collection using observation instruments, documentation, and interviews. The data is then analyzed by descriptive qualitative.Findings – The study reveals that the context, input, process, and product components in Indonesian language learning at SMPN 1 Seririt are overall good. Context evaluation, covering school profile, teacher preparation, learning activities, observations, and teacher feedback, is rated positively. Input evaluation shows the teaching staff’s educational background (Bachelor's and master’s in education) and material mastery as good, though teachers sometimes overly rely on textbooks. Information technology is used but infrequently, and facilities adequately meet both student and teacher needs. The process evaluation indicates that planning and implementing Indonesian language learning in the Merdeka Curriculum is fairly effective. Product evaluation through formative and summative assessments highlights listening as the most mastered skill, with writing as the least. Research Implications – The findings suggest that the Indonesian language curriculum should be more student-centered and incorporate interactive teaching methods. Enhancements in comprehensive assessment, teacher training, and increased parental and community engagement are essential for improving education quality.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an integrative learning model that combines drama texts in Indonesian language instruction with Social Studies material on local historical events, in order to enhance students' creativity, cultural understanding, and character. The model is designed based on the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes project-based, collaborative, and student-centered learning. The method used is qualitative descriptive, employing a literature review and classroom-based learning design approach. The results of the study show that integrating local history into drama learning encourages students to think critically, express ideas creatively, and understand local cultural values. The learning syntax is developed through the stages of experiencing, conceptualizing, analyzing, producing, networking, applying, comparing, and synthesizing. In addition to improving writing and performance skills, the model also strengthens the Pancasila Student Profile through activities that touch on spiritual, social, and cognitive dimensions. This study concludes that integrative drama learning based on local history is an innovative approach relevant to shaping a creative, reflective, and character-driven generation.
