Abstract

In 2018 General election, generation Z called as first-time voter who will use their right to vote. Statistic data of the 2018’s General Election Commission indicates that first-time voter in West Java Province reaching 30% of the total voters. This research described information seeking behavior among generation Z on West Java Governor Election. The purposed of this research are to identify characteristic of information needs among Z generation, identify information source used and information awareness among Z generation. This research uses qualitative approach and case study method. There are five high school students become informants in this research and uses purposive sampling techniques. The results of this study are characteristic of information needs Z generation on aspects of the context including election procedure, profile of governor candidates, campaign activities, programs offered. The frequency of information needs tends to be low and unpredictable. Information sources tend to use online sources through social media and online mass media but they also get other information from television, newspaper, sharing with friends, parents and family; In the aspect of awareness or understanding of information resources, familiarity and prior success, information packaging, cost and accessibility affects information seeking behavior of Z generation but they have obstacle to assess the quality of information. This makes Z generation easily accept hoax information or provoked on social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and Twitter.

Abstract

Background of the study: YouTube offers new opportunities for sharing Library and Information Science (LIS) research beyond traditional academic channels. Despite this potential, attention is limited regarding how LIS research circulates and engages audiences on this platform. Purpose: This study aims to map the thematic focus of YouTube videos that cite LIS research and to analyze their interaction metrics as indicators of audience engagement from an altmetrics perspective. Method: The study employed quantitative (descriptive and inferential statistics on YouTube interaction metrics) and qualitative (thematic analysis with inductive coding) methods on YouTube videos citing LIS research. Findings: Engagement was largely passive, with views dominating (97.41%). Dominant themes were: libraries as objects (36.47%), innovation/IT (32.44%), health information (25.34%), and social media (5.75%). The Vsauce video “The Zipf Mystery” demonstrated the potential to popularize LIS concepts like Zipf’s law. Conclusion: LIS research is increasingly cited on YouTube, confirming the platform’s potential as a complementary avenue for research dissemination and highlighting the growing convergence with digital public engagement. Future studies should focus on strategies to optimize YouTube as a scholarly communication tool.

Abstract

Background: Manajemen pengelolaan keuangan merupakan dasar yang harus diterapkan dalam setiap organisasi, termasuk dalam pengelolaan keuangan pada satuan pendidikan dan Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM). Namun, pengelolaan organisasi terutama pengelolaan keuangan secara syariah belum secara maksimal diterapkan di Desa Pasirlangu. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah agar warga masyarakat Desa Pasirlangu, Cisarua Kabupaten Bandung mampu mengelola keuangan sekolah dan UMKM secara profesional dengan berlandaskan prinsip-prinsip yang syariah. Metode: Metode pelaksanaan terdiri dari: 1) perencanaan, kegiatan perencanaan dilakukan dengan melakukan koordinasi dengan kepala desa Pasirlangu dan pengelola UMKM di lingkungan Desa Pasirlangu. 2) Pelaksanaan, kegaiatan dilaksanakan di Desa Pasirlangu pada bulan Februari 2020 dengan melibatkan semua stakholder masyarakat. 3) Evaluasi dilakukan agar kegiatan dapat terlaksana dengan baik sehingga kegiatan dapat berjalan terus menerus dan konsisten. Hasil: Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini terlaksana dengan baik berkat adanya dukungan dari semua lapisan masyarakat, yang terdiri dari tenaga kependidikan di sekolah dan pelaku UMKM. Hasil temuan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa 70% pelaku UMKM telah berkategori baik dan sisanya 30% berkategori cukup. Sementara itu dalam hal pengelolaan keuangan berbasis syariah, persentasenya adalah kriteria baik sebesar 60%, dan 40% berkategori cukup. Kesimpulan: Peserta aktif mengikuti kegiatan dan mampu meningkatkan pemahaman mengenai pengelolaan organisasi dan keuangan.

Abstract

Private higher education institutions face increasing challenges in maintaining student loyalty, which is essential for sustainability and competitiveness. At Universitas Muhammadiyah Bandung, a private Islamic university, issues such as declining re-enrollment and student dropout remain prevalent. This research aimed to examine the effect of service quality and perceived value on student loyalty. A quantitative approach was employed using multiple linear regression, with data collected from 325 students selected through proportional random sampling. The findings revealed that both service quality and perceived value significantly influence student loyalty. Service quality emerged as the dominant predictor (β = 0.500), followed by perceived value (β = 0.392). The model explained 36.2% of the variance in student loyalty (R² = 0.362). These results indicate that improving service quality and enhancing perceived value are key strategies for fostering student loyalty in Islamic higher education institutions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi perubahan tingkat kesiapsiagaan masyarakat terhadap bencana banjir. Fokus penelitian ini di Dusun Kentingan, Kelurahan Jebres, Kecamatan Jebres, Kota Surakarta yang mengalami bencana banjir pada tahun 2007. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode campuran (mixed method) dengan data kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan pendekatan Actor Network Theory yang bertujuan mengetahui latar belakang perubahan tingkat kesiapsiagaan masyarakat. Data kualitatif didapatkan melalui informan yang terlibat pada bencana banjir 2007, sedangkan data kuantitatif dikumpulkan melalui angket yang disebarkan kepada seluruh kepala keluarga. Analisis kesiapsiagaan menggunakan kerangka kesiapsiagaan LIPI/UNESCO yang berfokus pada empat indikator. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa terjadi perubahan tingkat kesiapsiagaan individu rumah tangga yang disebabkan oleh pengalaman banjir tahun 2007 dan berbagai aktor yang terlibat dalam fenomena tersebut. Indeks kesiapsiagaan meningkat dari kategori “kurang siap” menjadi “siap”. Selain itu, perubahan tingkat kesiapsiagaan dipengaruhi oleh jaringan interaksi non-human & human actors yang terdiri atas empat momen yaitu problematization, interessement, enrollment, dan mobilization.
