Abstract

It is based on the fact that small-scale coconut oil processing in micro-scale businesses is facing serious threats and competition with palm oil produced by large and medium-sized entrepreneurs, resulting in a downturn in business as well as weakening the motivation of coconut farmers to process coconut production into coconut oil. As a result, coconut farmers in their daily lives actually buy palm oil processed by large and medium entrepreneurs, while their businesses are getting worse. In line with this, through this research, an analysis of the obstacles and opportunities for the development of the people's coconut oil processing industry was carried out. The purpose of this study was to analyze the barriers to developing the people's coconut oil processing industry on a micro-scale business and to analyze the opportunities for developing the people's coconut oil processing industry on a micro-scale business. The research method is through a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to identify obstacles and opportunities for developing the coconut oil processing industry, followed by Analysis Hierarchy Process (AHP) to determine priority problems and priority opportunities that should be carried out by multi-stakeholders for the development of the coconut oil processing industry. The results showed that the priority obstacles to the development of the coconut oil processing industry in micro-scale businesses in Konawe Islands Regency were product marketing problems, financial capital, and business funding problems, production equipment problems, skilled labor issues, raw material problems, micro-business protection policy issues, business organization, and management problems, as well as problems in the use of information technology and innovation. The priority of opportunities for the development of the micro-scale coconut oil processing industry in Konawe Kepualauan Regency is the presence of economic value by-products of coconut oil processing, namely shell charcoal, nata de coco, and coconut coir, there is a tendency for people to consume more coconut oil than consume coconut oil. Abstract

ABSTRACT Potential areas for development of main commodities plantation in Kolaka district have not been utilized. The objectives of this research were to identify the plantation system of six main commodities, i.e. cocoa, cloves, pepper, cashew, coconut and coffee, and to carry out the potential areas analysis for the development of main commodities plantation in the Kolaka district. The methods used were qualitative descriptive, Delphi, and characteristic gaps analyses of the real condition of the potential areas with the ideal requirements. Potential areas for the development of main potential commodities plantation was cocoa. Cocoa has been a great potential which reachs area of 92,442.24 ha, the production of 309,214.44 tones with a productivity of 558,09 kg/ha, the farmers number of 44,280 families (KK) with average land holdings of 2.14 ha/KK. Gap analysis of the suitability of land for six main commodities i.e. cocoa, cloves, pepper, cashew, coconut and coffee were in the group S (appropriate). The area of potential for the development of cocoa was around of ​​62,708.50 ha, which the largest area was in the Lambadia sub-district of ​​31,638.50 ha with the potential land to be developed land of 2,771 ha and area in the Ladongi sub-district of ​​14,819.40 ha with the potential to be developed of ​​22,900 ha. Abstract

The potential for developing coconut commodity plantations in, West Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi has not been utilized. This study aims to (a) identify the form and type and capacity of copra business; and (b) knowing the techno- economic study of coconut business revenue located in West Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. Determination of the location of research carried out deliberately (purposive). The method used is a questionnaire and interview. The analysis used is descriptive-analytical and Techno-Economic analysis. The results showed that the form of coconut business in the District of Tiworo Kepulauan Muna Barat Regency is classified as a micro business with assets of 50 million each with a total income in the copra business having a garden of Rp 36.733,125. Then the total coconut business income without processing Rp. 6.493,522 and the total copra business income without having a garden is Rp. 43. 226,647. The total income of copra business in the last 3 years: (a) has the most known plantation income in 2017 amounting to Rp.14,025,625.00; (b) most coconut processing without processing received in 2017 amounted to Rp. 2,390,022.00; and (c) copra business without having the most gardens in 2017 amounted to Rp.16,527,000.00.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the application of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in banana chip processing in Konda District. Research data were collected by (a) field studies (observation, interviews, and documentation); and (b) literature study. The results showed that the processing of banana chips in Konda District was sufficient to apply GMP with an application rate of 74.06% of the average application of GMP aspects, namely: (1) location and production environment 90.00%; (2) buildings and facilities 48.48%; (3) production equipment 88.88%; (4) water supply or water supply facilities 100.00%; (5) hygiene and sanitation facilities and activities 73.91%; (6) employee health and hygiene 68.18%; (7) maintenance and hygiene and sanitation programs 57.69%; (8) storage of 84.00%; (9) process control 74.07%; (10) food labeling 87.50%; (11) supervision by the person in charge of 80.00%; (12) 50.00% product withdrawal; (13) recording and documentation 35.71%; and (14) 100.00% employee training.

Abstract

The determination of the main product of plantation commodity in kolaka has not been done. The purpose of this research were to composing an order of main product of plantation commodity in Kolaka. The object of this research were alternative 17 of plantation commodity. The determination of strategic indicators as the selection criteria of the main products were done by a panel of researchers that experts in different fields in plantation scope. In the effort to reach of the consensus, they were accordance with the Delphi Method. There are seven strategic indicators used as the criteria in determination of the main product of plantation commodity in Kolaka as followed: (1) based on the local resource potential, (2) enhancing to acces domestic and global market, (3) to produce high added value, (4) supported by technology and qualified human resources, (5) eco-friendly product by applying eco-friendly technology and have optimum agriculture waste as well as apply good waste management, (6) implement cooperation principle and business oriented, and (7) administratively and economically feasible for business development. The result of score calculation on the each indicator showed that the main product of plantation commodity were cacao on the first with score 4.6, clove and pepper on the second with score 4.3, and cashew, coconut, and coffee on the third with score 4.2.ABSTRAKPenentuan produk unggulan komoditas perkebunan di Kabupaten Kolaka selama ini belum dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memunculkan suatu urutan produk unggulan komoditas perkebunan di Kabupaten Kolaka. Objek penelitian ini adalah 17 alternatif komoditas perkebunan. Penetapan indikator strategis sebagai kriteria pemilihan produk unggulan komoditas perkebunan dilakukan oleh sekelompok panel peneliti yang memiliki latar belakang kebidangan berbeda dalam lingkup perkebunan.  Dalam upaya mencapai konsensus, maka dilakukan dengan Metode Delphi. Ada tujuh indikator strategis digunakan sebagai kriteria penetapan produk unggulan komoditas perkebunan: (1) berbasis kepada potensi sumber daya lokal, (2) memiliki kesempatan yang tinggi untuk akses pada pasar domestik dan dunia, (3) menghasilkan nilai tambah yang tinggi, (4) didukung oleh teknologi dan sumber daya manusia yang handal, (5) ramah lingkungan, dengan menerapkan teknologi yang ramah dan bersih terhadap lingkungan,  pemanfaatan limbah pertanian yang optimal, serta menerapkan manajemen limbah yang baik, (6) melaksanakan prinsip-prinsip kerjasama dengan orientasi bisnis, dan (7) secara administratif dan ekonomi layak bagi pengembangan bisnis. Hasil perhitungan skor setiap indikator menunjukkan bahwa sebagai produk unggulan komoditas perkebunan adalah kakao di urutan pertama skor 4,6, cengkeh dan lada di urutan ke dua skor 4,3, jambu mete, kelapa,dan kopi di urutan ke tiga skor 4,2.

Abstract

The development of plantation agro-industry should refer to primary commodity approach. Until now there is no accurate reference for government Kolaka. The diversifications of products and by-product have not developed yet. The objectives of this research were to formulate development strategy of regional potential of the prime plantation agro industry. The object of this research is six primary commodities of plantation; those are cacao, clover, pepper, cashew, coconut, and coffee in Kolaka Regency with Delphi and SWOT methods. The research results showed that the development strategy of regional potential of the prime plantation agro industry there are at quadrant I or that strategy was created by using all the power to take advantage of opportunities that an aggressive strategy by doing independence improvement of the farmers through development and counseling, partnership development on agro-industry activities in the effort of giving additional value of production.

Abstract

Consumption of vegetables in the community continues to increase along with the increase in population. Hydroponics is an innovation in agriculture that was developed to increase vegetable production in order to support national food security. This study aims to determine public perception on the Starterkit Wick Hydroponic method of vegetable plants. The location of the study was conducted in Wawowanggu District, Kendari City. Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative analysis method with a Likert Scale which is used to measure attitudes, opinions and people's perceptions of the Starterkit Wick Hydroponics method of vegetable plants. Based on the research results obtained by community perceptions of the Starterkit Wick Hydroponics program for vegetable crops based on factors such as narrow land use, good quality, free of pests and diseases, practical, many nutrients, rapid plant growth, suitable for urban areas and as agro-tourism. Abstract

The government's program on food security needs to get support through the application of appropriate technology in the agricultural sector. Hydroponics is an agricultural vegetable cultivation technology that needs to be developed in an effort to increase vegetable production and encourage the development of agribusiness entrepreneurship. The purpose of this research is the development of hydroponic plant cultivation technology through the Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) system and the Wick system. The method used is a qualitative method in the form of an applicative application of hydroponic cultivation. The results of the research are in the form of installation designs and hydroponic cultivation techniques that can be developed into teaching materials and new entrepreneurs in the field of agriculture.

Abstract

Masyarakat sampai saat ini belum bisa memanfaatkan secara maksimal seluruh bagian dari singkong. Tujuan kegiatan PKM adalah bagaimana pemanfaatan limbah kulit singkong menjadi kripik kulit singkong di SMKN 5 Kota Kendari Sulawesi Tenggara. Pelaksanaan  PKM dilakukan dalam 3 tahap: (1) sosialisasi; (2) pemberian materi tentang motivasi berwirausaha, proses pemanfaatan limbah kulit singkong menjadi kripik kulit singkong, dan cara mendesain label kemasan dengan pemanfaatan TIK;  dan (3) pelatihan melalui praktek langsung. Kegiatan pemberian teori dilakukan dengan metode ceramah dan diskusi interaktif, sedangkan pelatihan pengolahan limbah kulit singkong dilaksanakan dengan metode demostrasi. Berdasarkan hasil PKM bersama mitra menunjukkan hasil kemajuan yang cukup berarti:  (a) pemahaman dan minat siswa tentang kewirausahaan meningkat sebesar 80%,  (b) pemahaman dan pengetahuan siswa tentang pembuatan kripik kulit singkong meningkat sebesar 90%, dan (c) pemahaman siswa tentang cara mendesain label kemasan dengan pemanfaatan TIK meningkat sebesar 85%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the priority factors in the development of plantation commodities, including cocoa, coffee, coconut, and oil palm as substitutes in East Kolaka District-Southeast Sulawesi.The method used is the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) of expert choice software 11. The AHP method includes: (a) developing a hierarchy; (b) determining priorities, and (c) calculating the consistency ratio (CR).  The consistency ratio test (CR) of Expert Choice 11software on priority factors in the development of leading plantation commodities was obtained from each resource person (informant) from: (a) the Department of Agriculture; (b) Plantation Service; (c) Trade, Industry, Small and Medium Enterprises Office; (d) traders; (e) Gapoktan; (f) banking, and (g) academics. The study shows acceptable or consistent results because of CR<0.100. AHP analysis indicates that the priority factors for developing superior plantation commodities in East Kolaka Regency include: (a) feasible for business development (LBPB) 26.7%; (b) contribution of community income (KPM) 18.0%; (c) Added value (NT) 13.3%; (d) local government policies (KPD) 11.0%; (e) land suitability (KL) 10.5%; (f) market orientation (OP) 10.7%; and (g) non-conformance with environmentally friendly standards (RL) 9.7%. Keywords: analytical hierarchy process (AHP), expert choice 11, superior plantation commodities
