Abstract

Advances in technology make people able to make adjustments to the rapidly advancing technology which cannot be stopped in Indonesia. Since Indonesia was shocked by the presence of a new virus known as COVID-19, many companies in Indonesia have fallen into disrepair when free trade can be carried out and this has caused industries in Indonesia, especially local businesses, to collapse, causing many to go out of business and lay off their employees. This makes business people to continue to look for solutions to be able to rise, such as making a breakthrough selling products online on social media. Businesses usually advertise their products through two features, namely Instagram Feeds and Instagram Stories. Instagram Feeds are a place where users can share and connect with others through images and videos. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of exposure to Instragram advertising on the purchase intention of Erigo products through attitudes towards advertising and attitudes towards brands. The results in this study are consumer attitudes towards advertising and to brands. Where, both are considered forms and are very useful for marketers so that this relates to attitudes towards advertising and brands as a measuring tool to see how effectively advertisements are displayed which can later be a driver of the emergence of purchase intentions from consumers.

Abstract

Health communication has become important after two years of the world experiencing Covid 19. The quality of healthy life in the community is important. New media make good information about maintaining health. However, because of the long period of being in normal healthy conditions, many new media accounts provide incorrect health information. The research question is how effective is health communication in the content of its messages in the new media about health in the post-pandemic period against the healthy living attitudes of its followers? The purpose of the study was to find out health communication in the content of its messages in new media about health in the post-pandemic period towards the healthy living attitudes of its followers. The concepts of health communication, healthy living attitudes, and previous research support this research. Health communication has the dimensions of interpersonal communication and mass communication. A healthy life attitude has cognitive, affective, and conative dimensions. This research method uses quantitative by distributing questionnaires to respondents. The validity and reliability of the measuring instrument is valid and reliable so that it can be continued to the next statistical analysis. The results of descriptive research are of good value to all dimensions, both health communication variables and attitude variables. The analysis of the next two variables is that both have strong effectiveness. The interplay of both variables is considered strong according to the applicable standards according to some literature. This means that the effect of health communication in new media is effective in influencing the life attitudes of the Indonesian people. So the alternative hypothesis of this study is accepted, and the null hypothesis is rejected. The results of this study are related to previous studies. So that it can be utilized by subsequent research and health communication academics. Research suggestions can be developed from other theoretical perspectives and use other methods to enrich the development of health communication studies.

Abstract

Advances in science and information technology have changed the perspective and lifestyle of the Indonesian people in carrying out their activities, including in the world of education. The application of the Education Management Information System (Emis) today is a must for every educational institution. In learning, the application of Emis is expected to improve the quality of learning services which in turn will improve the quality of teachers and students, especially in the field of Information Technology. The four basic management functions put forward by Terry are Planning, Organizing, Actuating and Controlling (POAC), the dimensions of service quality created by Haksever et al., As well as the program evaluation model developed by Stufflebeam (Stufflebeam's Model) or CIPP Model, Becomes theoretical basis as an analysis knife or the framework of ideas used to analyze, synthesize and provide solutions for the application of Emis in SMA and SMK Ma'arif Banyuresmi Garut in improving the quality of learning services. The implementation of Emis in SMA and SMK Ma'arif starts with the creation of a strategic plan for learning Emis, the formation of an IT team and a letter of assignment, budget provision, preparation and procurement of learning media for Emis, preparation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), socialization and training on the use of Learning Emis, Implementation of Learning Emis, Evaluation of the application of Learning Emis and the impact of the application of Learning Emis on the quality of learning services and on the quality of teacher human resources and the quality of student human resources

Abstract

Artikel ini mengenalkan sekaligus menawarkan hasil temuan penelitian tentang komponen perilaku komunikasi PR berbasis budaya. Komponen terdiri dari aspek Insight-Program Strategic- Program Implementation-Action and Reputation atau disingkat menjadi The IPPAR Model. Komponen perilaku komunikasi PR merupakan transformasi hasil temuan lapangan atau originalitas data tentang pola perilaku Jakhu Suku pada ritual pemberian gelar. Pola perilaku meliputi tahapan pekhsiapan (persiapan), khencana (perencanaan), lestakhi (pelaksanaan), penghengok (dukungan) dan penghanggum (kepercayaan). Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa ada keterkaitan antara temuan pola perilaku Jakhu Suku dengan konsepsi Public Relations dan budaya sehingga komponen The IPPAR Model dapat dikategorikan sebagai komponen Etnografi PR. Metodologi yang fokus pada perilaku komunikasi PR berbasis budaya. Dipaparkan tentang konsep, konstruk, prinsip dasar, serta cara kerja penelitian. Metodologi Etnografi PR dapat diterapkan pada konteks lembaga PR profit dan nonprofit. Kajian PR berbasis budaya pada konteks PR perusahaan, PR Pemerintahan, dan PR Non Pemerintahan.Kata Kunci: Etnografi PR, Perilaku Komunikasi, The IPPAR Model

Abstract

This study investigates Padjadjaran Care's Social Media Strategy within the Padjadjaran University Student Executive Board (BEM Kema Unpad). This research uses a qualitative descriptive case study approach and drawing from media ecology and media dependency theories. The research also examines social media selection, content planning, interaction strategies, and management evaluation. Data collection involved structured and semi-structured in-depth interviews with Padjadjaran Care social media managers from 2019 to 2023 and long-term followers. Findings reveal key aspects warranting further exploration: the selection of social media platforms (Line and Instagram) influenced by the evolving audience characteristics; content planning focused on addressing student needs via Instagram's question boxes; a commitment to 24-hour responsiveness in interactions, offering informative content; and an evaluation process through a mid-year review uploaded on BEM Kema Unpad's Instagram, capturing aspirations conveyed via Instagram direct messages and Line Official Account chat.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of the lack of knowledge or the ability of teachers in making scientific papers, which causes obstruction of the promotion of functional positions of teachers from class IV / a to group IV / b. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis method. The data collection technique is done through observation, interview and documentation study. The results showed that: 1) Forecasting used is a type of "Demand Forecasting", Forecasting is based on long, medium and short term time horizons. However, it does not meet the criteria of good forecasting, that is, it does not meet the standard of accuracy, cost and convenience forecasting. 2) Planning has been implemented properly through the 5W1H answer technique, but the results are not optimal. 3) Organizing has been carried out by compiling the Madrasah organizational structure, but there is no specific organizational structure to facilitate the implementation and coordination of the teacher functional position promotion program. 4) Controlling or control in Madrasah has been carried out through supervision activities, but it is not optimal, because the supervision is not in accordance with standard operating procedures and only to meet administrative reporting needs. 5) Commanding or briefing is carried out by involving civil servant teachers in education and training activities, as well as fostering and motivating PNS teachers to increase the number of credit scores, but the results of the coaching are not optimal. 6) Coordinating or coordination in Madrasahs has been carried out vertically, both internal and external, but the implementation has not been optimal.

Abstract

Celebrity Fitness is a company operating in the largest fitness world in Asia. This research aims (1) To understand further how personal trainers communicate when welcoming members, (2) To understand further how personal trainers use communication when training with members, (3) To understand further how personal trainers use communication in attracting members interest in training, (4) To be able to understand how members perceive the communication used by personal trainers. The research was carried out using a qualitative approach with participant observation to observe the communication between personal trainers and members. In answering this problem, researchers used a symbolic interaction theory approach and conversation analysis through an interpersonal communication process using verbal and nonverbal communication. As a result of this research, researchers constructed personal trainer communication into three categories, namely, personal trainers always pay attention to members both in terms of feelings and health, personal trainers also educate members by providing explanations about everything regarding the field of fitness and professional advice to members, and personal trainers always remind members of their mutually agreed training schedule and fitness goals. Meanwhile, members perceptions of the communication carried out by personal trainers are good. for members, the appearance of a personal trainer is the most important thing, as is an athletic body shape and always appearing fashionable in clothing. She was followed by good skills in the world of fitness, a polite, friendly attitude, and always looking energetic.

Abstract

This study investigates the use of indirect communication strategies within an educational institution in Jakarta, Indonesia, focusing on discussing their significance in achieving communication objectives within professional contexts. The primary emphasis is on how these indirect communication strategies are applied to cultivate supportive relationships and create a favourable professional environment within educational settings. The following research questions guide the ethnographic study: 1) How are indirect communication strategies employed in educational organisations? and 2) What factors influence the adoption of these communication strategies? This research utilised four data collection methods: participant observation, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and document analysis. Participants in this study included school principals, vice-principals, teachers, support staff, students, and parents from a state primary school in Jakarta, Indonesia. The study's findings reveal that indirect communication strategies are predominantly employed to achieve various communication objectives, such as conveying humour, expressing frustration, delivering implied messages, seeking assistance, and expressing uncertainty. These strategies are deeply rooted in the cultural context, particularly influenced by Betawi culture, which strongly emphasises preserving social harmony and promoting respectful interactions. Several influential factors, including shared cultural values, power dynamics, and age, were identified as elements affecting the adoption of these indirect communication strategies.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji transformasi nilai (motif) dan fenomena sosial keikutsertaan umroh bersama dalam komunitas otomotif, khususnya pada komunitas Pajero Indonesia ONE (PI-ONE) Chapter Sumedang. Komunitas otomotif yang pada dasarnya merupakan kelompok nonreligius ini menunjukkan fenomena menarik dalam mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai keislaman melalui kegiatan umroh bersama. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi Alfred Schutz untuk memahami pengalaman subjektif anggota komunitas dalam menginternalisasi nilai-nilai sosial dan keagamaan dalam konteks interaksi komunitas yang didasari oleh hobi otomotif. Penelitian ini mengungkap bagaimana komunikasi dan interaksi sosial dalam komunitas otomotif tidak hanya mempererat solidaritas dan identitas sosial berbasis minat, tetapi juga menjadi media transformasi motif sosial yang mengarah pada pembentukan identitas sosial yang lebih inklusif melalui penguatan nilai keagamaan. Keunikan penelitian ini terletak pada fokusnya yang mengangkat integrasi nilai keagamaan dalam komunitas nonreligius, memberikan wawasan baru tentang fleksibilitas nilai agama dalam ruang sosial modern. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat memperkaya pemahaman tentang dinamika sosial komunitas dan kontribusi komunikasi dalam pembentukan identitas sosial yang inklusif dan bernilai.

Abstract

A Learning Development Of Beauty Skill Program At A Vocational School In Preserving Local Wisdom. Objectives: The research is to analyze the learning development of beauty skill program at a vocational school in preserving local wisdom. Methods: to employ a qualitative approach with an analytically descriptive method towards two-state vocational schools in Kabupaten Bandung and Bandung city. Library research, in-depth interviews, a document study and observation were carried out to gather data. Informants were chosen by using a snowball technique, the findings, then, were examined and analyzed by using management theory by Deming, curriculum theory of social reconstruction and learning theory of constructivism by Vygotsky. Findings: Learning development planning of beauty skill at a vocation school in preserving local wisdom is designed by formulating vision and mission, arranging curriculum, providing more productive teachers and improving learning facilities. Learning development implementation is made by achieving student’s competence, involving experts and industrial and business world. Learning development is supervised by the Department of Education, Branch Department of Education West Java Provincial Government and school superintendent. The problem faced in learning development is the lack of productive subject time allotment, human resources and qualified teachers understanding local wisdom. The improvement is by enhancing industrial and business world cooperation and teaching factory, collaborating with professional, experts and practitioner organization, using subject time allotment and extracurricular activities. Conclusion: By learning development of beauty skill program in preserving local wisdom, it affects the quality improvement of graduates who have high awareness towards local wisdom, educational service improvement and the achievement of learning development implementation and the learning quality improvement.
