Abstract

Patient Safety was the right of a patient who was receiving health care. A nurse was one of the health professionals in a hospital having a very important role in realizing Patient Safety. In realizing Patient Safety Panti Rahayu Yakkum Hospital of Purwodadi had involved the role of the nurses. In carrying out their role the nurses could support the protection of the patient’s rights. The nurses performed health care by conducting six Patient Safety goals that were based on professional standards, service standards and codes of conduct so that the Patient Safety would be realized. This research applied a socio-legal approach to having analytical-descriptive specifications. The data used were primary and secondary those were gathered by field and literature studies. The field study was conducted by having interviews to, among others, the Director of Panti Rahayu Yakkum Hospital of Purwodadi, Head of Room and Chairman of Patient Safety Committee, nurses and patients. The data were then qualitatively analyzed. The arrangement of nurses’ role in implementing Patient Safety and the patient’s rights protection was based on the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia of 1945, Health Act, Hospital Act, Labor Act, and Nursing Act. These bases made the hospital obliged to implement Patient Safety. The regulations leading the hospital to provide Patient Safety were Health Minister’s Regulation Nr. 11 of 2017 on Patient Safety, Statute of Panti Rahayu Yakkum Hospital of Purwodadi (Hospital ByLaws), Internal Nursing Staff ByLaws. In implementing Patient Safety Panti Rahayu Yakkum Hospital of Purwodadi had established a committee of Patient Safety team consisting of the nurses that would implement six targets of Patient Safety. Actually, the Patient Safety implementation had been accomplished but it had not been optimally done because of several factors, namely juridical, social and technical factors. The supporting factors in influencing the implementation were, among others, the establishment of the Patient Safety team that had been well socialized whereas the inhibiting factors were limitedness of time and funds to train the nurses besides the operational procedure standard (OPS) that was still less understood. Lack of learning motivation among the nurses also appeared as an inhibiting factor in understanding Patient Safety implementation.

Abstract

Breast milk is an emulsion of fat in a solution of protein, lactase and organic salts secreted by the two sides of the mother's breast glands, as the main food for the baby. Post-partum mothers who produce little breast milk will interfere with the adequacy of the baby's needs during their growth and development. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between eating frequency and resting patterns with mother's milk production during the postpartum period in the village of Kontak Grobogan. This research method using analytical method with cross sectional approach. The sample in this study amounted to 31 people. The analytical test for the research hypothesis used the Chi Square test. The results of this study show that mothers who consume food frequently are 38.7%, and mothers who have good resting patterns have sufficient milk production as much as 14.3%. The results of the analysis using Chi Square with α = 0.05 on the frequency of eating with breast milk production found a p value = 0.092, while the resting pattern with breast milk production is known to have a p value = 0.241. It can be concluded from this study that the frequency of eating is not related to the production of breast milk in the mother, and the resting pattern is also not related to the production of breast milk in the mother during the postpartum period.

Abstract

Caring for hemorrhagic stroke patients in the Critical Care Unit (ICU) requires not only intensive medical care but also a comprehensive ethical and spiritual approach, especially for Muslim patients. Hemorrhagic stroke is an emergency condition with a high mortality rate and a significant risk of spiritual distress during critical care. This study aims to analyze the application of the Maqasid Al-Shariah principles in nursing care for hemorrhagic stroke patients in the ICU as an effort to improve the quality of holistic care. The method used is a library research with a qualitative approach, through a review of scientific literature, Islamic bioethics, and relevant critical care nursing practices. The results of the study indicate that the integration of the Maqasid Al-Shariah principles—especially hifz an-nafs (protection of the soul), hifz al-aql (protection of the mind), and hifz ad-din (protection of religion)—can improve clinical and spiritual outcomes for patients, characterized by improved levels of awareness, reduced spiritual distress, and increased patient and family satisfaction. Spiritual interventions such as Quranic recitation and family collaboration have been shown to support psychological stability and ethical care, especially in the end-of-life phase. In conclusion, the application of Maqashid al-Shariah in ICU care for hemorrhagic stroke patients provides an ethical and spiritual framework that enriches critical care nursing practice and is recommended as a basis for developing Islamic value-based nursing protocols in Indonesia.

Abstract

Spiritual Wellbeing (SWB) is essential in palliative care for end-of-life (EoL) patients. However, its implementation in emergency settings is often overlooked despite the significant spiritual needs of patients at the end of life. This study aims to describe and explain the concept of SWB in EoL patients in the Emergency Setting. The study used a qualitative approach based on concept analysis of the literature. Data were collected from 18 relevant articles purposively selected from international databases (2020-2024). The analysis focused on the attributes, antecedents, and consequences of SWB through thematic evaluation and cross-referencing. The results showed that four main attributes of SWB were identified: relationship with higher power, inner peace, meaning of life, and active role of family and health workers. Antecedents of SWB included clergy and family support, while consequences included improved patient quality of life and reduced anxiety. These findings demonstrate the importance of integrating spiritual care into emergency setting practice. Holistic collaboration between patients, families and healthcare professionals is key to improving the spiritual wellbeing of EoL patients.
