Abstract

This research aims to identify and anylize character building that include in the illumination the text of Babad Kartasura-Sokawati. The data collected through content anylisis and photography. Overall, illuminations picture that include in the text of Babad Kartasura-Sokawati contain character building of Javanese people. There are six character buildings that appear from the illumination, there are: 1) leadership value that appeared from the pictures of eagle, peacock, deer, kingdom’s flag, weapons, bridge fence, star, sun, mountain, river, forest, khandhil (oil lantern), leaf lined, lotus, and sunflower; 2) respect and honorable value that appeared from the pictures of eagle, peacock, kingdom’s flag, dhampar (the king’s seat), leaf lined, and sunflower; 3) value of the perfection of life that appeared from the pictures of khandhil (oil lantern), sunflower, and vines; 4) devotion value that appeared from the pictures of the star and the moon; 5) value to achieve peacefully of the inner and outer that appeared from the pictures of water waves; and 6) noble character value that appeared from the pictures of songsong (gold umbrella), leaf lined, rose, and sunflower. --- Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis ajaran budi pekerti di dalam iluminasi teks Babad Kartasura-Sokawati. Data dikumpulkan dengan analisis isi dan dokumentasi. Secara keseluruhan gambar iluminasi yang terdapat dalam teks Babad Kartasura-Sokawati memuat ajaran budi pekerti yang selaras dengan kehidupan masyarakat Jawa. Terdapat enam ajaran budi pekerti yang terdapat dalam gambar iluminasi, yaitu: 1) ajaran tentang kepemimpinan yang tersurat dari gambar burung garuda, burung merak, kijang, umbul-umbul, senjata, pagar jembatan, bintang, matahari, gunung, sungai, hutan, khandhil (lentera minyak), daun yang berjajar, bunga teratai, dan bunga matahari; 2) ajaran saling menghormati dan menghargai yang tersurat dari gambar burung garuda, burung merak, umbul-umbul, pagar jembatan, dhampar (kursi raja), daun yang berjajar, serta bunga mawar; 3) ajaran tentang kesempurnaan hidup yang tersurat dari gambar khandhil (lentera minyak), bunga matahari, dan tumbuhan sulur; 4) ajaran ketaqwaan yang terdapat dalam gambar bintang dan bulan sabit; 5) ajaran untuk meraih ketentraman lahir dan batin yang tampak pada gambar gelombang air; serta 6) ajaran berpekerti luhur yang tampak dari gambar songsong (payung emas), daun yang berjajar, bunga mawar, dan bunga matahari.

Abstract

The present study aimed to explore character education and philosophical values in the Ranggawarsita’s work entitled Serat Sabdajati. A qualitative method was applied in this study using hermeneutic design. The National Library of the Republic of Indonesia Collection of Serat Sabdajati was used as the primary data source in this study. The data collected in this study were the lingual units including the words, phrases, clauses and sentences in the verses of the Serat Sabdajati. The collected data were analyzed qualitatively using hermeneutic approach. The results reported several character and philosophical values found in the serat (manuscript), which include: 1) spiritual values including laku prihatin (caring), nglaras ati (harmonize the heart) , ngesthi rahayu (looking for salvation), jatining kawruh (true knowledge), ambuka wiwaraning dhiri (open up), manunggaling kawula Gusti (unity with the God), kemating pating pratitis (viewing the death distinctly); 2) religious values including andel mring Hyang (believe in God), temen tinemu (those who sow will reap); 3) social values including sasmita yekti (understand the truth), memayu hayuning sasama (maintain community safety). This study concluded that human needs to always aware of their origin and the place to return to. A comprehensive discussion was presented by comparing the results of the present study and the previous studies.

Abstract

Naskah Serat Triluka Sabda Bawana ingkang Langgeng merupakan naskah yang memuat ajaran agama Islam, khususnya tentang sifat-sifat Allah. Naskah ini menarik untuk diteliti karena mengandung tafsir orang Jawa tentang sifat-sifat Allah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan kecocokan antara Sifat-sifat Allah dalam naskah Serat Triluka Sabda Bawana ingkang Langgeng dengan Sifat-sifat Allah yang tertulis dalam Al-Qur’an. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian filologi modern dan metode penelitian deskriptif. Metode penelitian filologi modern digunakan dengan tujuan supaya teks STSBIL mudah dibaca oleh pembaca. Metode penelitian deskriptif digunakan untuk membuat deskripsi keadaan teks STSBIL. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan langkah penelitian filologi yaitu (1) inventarisasi naskah, (2) deskripsi naskah, (3) alih tulis teks, (4) suntingan teks, (5) terjemahan teks, dan (6) analisis isi. Metode analisis isi menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan tentang kecocokan antara Sifat-sifat Allah dalam naskah Serat Triluka Sabda Bawana ingkang Langgeng dengan Sifat-sifat Allah yang tertulis dalam Al-Qur’an. Sifat-sifat Allah tersebut yaitu Sifat Baqa, Sifat Wahdaniyat, Sifat Qudrat, Sifat Hayat, Sifat Jamaluhu, Sifat Pemurah, dan Sifat Adil.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the test items of Javanese for junior high school in Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) using Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) literacy parameters. It was qualitative descriptive research employing content analysis methods. The instruments used were test items of PISA and Javanese reading literacy. The data collected was primary data in the forms of words, phrases, sentences, paragraphs, and discourses. The purposive sampling method was used to choose the research subjects. Data were analyzed using content analysis methods. The data collection was conducted through detailed documentation on test items of PISA reading literacy published by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Curriculum 2013 Javanese reading test items for junior high school obtained from final examinations of four regions and one city in DIY. The semantic validity was used in this study. The results of the data analysis showed that out of 25 characteristics of PISA parameters of test items, there were only 13 (52%) characteristics a lied in test items of Javanese for junior high school in DIY, while the rest (48%) was not found in the Javanese test items. Based on these findings, it is expected that teachers can develop test items for Javanese reading literacy with higher thinking ability levels.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap aspek-aspek etnopedagogi dalam konteks seksologi sastra karawitan. Etnopedagogi adalah ilmu tentang Pendidikan yang lahir dari etnik tertentu. Etnopedagogi bisa dilakukan melalui seksologi sastra karawitan. Seksologi adalah ilmu tentang seksualitas dalam etnik Jawa. Seksologi termaksud dilukiskan melalui sastra karawitan. Sastra karawitan adalah teks-teks yang muncul dalam sajian gending. Sajian gending dapat berupa senggakan, gerong, bawa, dan lelagon.Ekspresi etnopedagogi dalam seksologi sastra karawitan ini memiliki daya Tarik untuk memotivasi sospro (sosialisasi promosi) bagi mahasiswa yang masuk jenjang S2 program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Jawa. Hal ini sekaligus menjadi bukti aksiologis sastra karawitan untuk menyemaikan ajaran pendidikan seksual. Penulis lirik sastra karawitan sering tergoda dengan ungkapan etnopedagogi  yang terdapat dalam seksologi sastra karawitan. Konteks ini dipahami menggunakan perspektif resepsi sastra secara empiric. Selain itu, diperlukan metode hermeneutic fenomenologis untuk menggali makna. Dari hasil kajian dapat disimpulkan bahwa teks-teks seksologi sastra karawitan merupakan cetusan etnopedagogi yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk sospro bagi mahasiswa.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian yang berjudul Merunut Leadership Characters Raja-Raja Jawa Berdasarkan Manuskrip Klasik dan Implementasinya pada Kepemimpinan Masa Kini ini bertujuan untuk: mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai kepemimpinan para raja Jawa yang terkandung dalam manuskrip Jawa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kepustakaan dengan sumber data berupa manuskrip klasik Jawa yang berjudul Serat Wedhatama dan Serat Wulangreh. Berdasarkan hasil pembahasan, Analisis dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik analisis kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil pembahasan, didapatkan simpulan bahwa leadership characters yang paling ditekankan dalam dua karya sastra karangan raja-raja Jawa ini berturut-turut adalah: rendah hati, waspada, sabar, taat beragama, prihatin, suka bekerja keras, mampu mengintrospeksi diri, berpendirian teguh, menjunjung tinggi nilai kesusilaan, tekun, santun, dan lain-lain.Kata kunci: karakter kepemimpinan, raja, Jawa, manuskrip ABSTRACTThe research entitled Leadership Characters of Java Kings Based on Classical Manuscripts and Its Implementation on Today's Leadership aims to: describe the values of the leadership of the Javanese kings contained in the Javanese manuscripts. This research uses literature research method with data source in the form of Javanese classical manuscript entitled Serat Wedhatama and Serat Wulangreh. Based on the results of the discussion, the analysis is done by using qualitative analysis techniques. Based on the results of the discussion, it is found that the most emphasized leadership characters in these two works of literary essay of Javanese kings are: humble, alert, patient, devout, concerned, hardworking, able to introspect, uphold the value of decency, diligence, courteous, and others.Keywords: leadership characters, kings in java, manuscript

Abstract

Kajian terhadap manuskrip semakin diminati.Dalam manuskrip terdapat kearifan lokal diantaranya tentang pengobatan tradisional. Jumlah manuskrip yang berisi tentang pengobatan tradisional tidak cukup banyak. Tulisan ini mendasarkan pada 7 buah manuskrip dengan judul yang berbeda-beda tentang pengobatan tradisional. Manuskrip-manuskrip tersebut adalah Boekoe Primbon Djampi Djawidengan kodeSK. 143b, SeratPrimbon Djawidengan kodePB C. 141, Serat Primbon Jawi/ Pratelaning Jampi Warni-Warni dengan kodeSK 118, Serat Primbon saha Wirid dengan kodePB A. 53, Serat Primbon dengan kodePBE 35, dan Buku Jampi dengan kodeLI. 5.    Kajian untuk menggarap manuskrip-manuskrip tersebut digunakan metode dan teori filologi modern dengan langkah-langkah berupa inventarisasi naskah, dekripsi naskah, taransliterasi teks, suntingan teks dan terjemahan teks.Kearifan lokal pada manuskrip Jawa menunjukkan adanya pengobatan penyakit kulit yang cukup bervariasi dengan bahan-bahan obat tradisional yang sangat variatif dan sederhana.Terdapat bahan-bahan yang sukar didapat dan tidak pernah digunakan dalam pengobatan dalam dunia modern.Adapun nama penyakit kulit yang dibahas dalam manuskrip tersebut adalah penyakit cacar, canthangen (kulit gatal), kulit yang disebabkan oleh kruma (hewan kecil yang ada di kudis), kadas, kurap, kutil, kudis, pathek, dompo, agar tidak tertular penyakit patek, gatal karena terkena daun rawe, terkena air panas, agar supaya bintik-bintik yang keluar pada penyakit campak tidak terlampau banyak, dan bubul (sejenis pathek). Abstract

This study is proposed for eight months. The purposes of the study are: (1) identifying the fields of science and sub-fields of research science in the thesis or "Tugas Akhir Skripsi" (TAS) of Javanese Department Students in Faculty of Language and Arts, Yogyakarta State University, (2) identifying the reason for choosing a title, (3) identifying the criteria of thesis supervisor according to the students and alumni of the Javanese Department in Faculty of Language and Arts, Yogyakarta State University, (4) identifying suggestions and criticism from the students and alumni of Javanese Department in Faculty of Language and Arts, Yogyakarta State University related to "TAS". The outcomes of the study are: (1) the data base regarding to the fields of science and sub-fields of research science in "TAS" of Javanese Department students of Faculty of Language and Arts, Yogyakarta State University, (2) reasons for choosing a title, (3) criteria of ideal thesis supervisors according to the students and alumni of Javanese Department in Faculty of Language and Arts, Yogyakarta State University, (4) suggestions and criticism of the students and alumni of Javanese Department in Faculty of Language and Arts, Yogyakarta State University related to "TAS", and (5) a national seminar papers and journals that are not accredited. This study is a survey research using descriptive method with 100 students as the respondents. Based on the findings of the discussion, it can be concluded that: (1) the fields of linguistics as well as the sub-fields of morphology is a field of research the most studied by the students of Javanese Department, (2) reason for choosing a title and topic of thesis by the students is because the students are glad to the field of science and topic taken, (3) the main criteria of the ideal supervisor according to the students of Javanese Department is the appropriateness between the supervisors' field of science and the thesis that is done by the students, (4) respondents noted that they do not agree if the topic and thesis titles are chosen by the Department because of the diversity of the students ability.Keywords: thesis, Javanese Department AbstrakPenelitianini bertujuan untuk: (1) Mengindentifikasi bidang ilmu dan sub bidang ilmu penelitian dalam Tugas Akhir Skripsi (TAS) mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Jawa FBS UNY, (2) Mengidentifikasi alasan pemilihan judul, (3) Identifikasi kriteria ideal pembimbing skripsi menurut mahasiswa dan alumni Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Jawa FBS UNY, (4) Mengidentifikasi saran dan kritik mahasiswa serta alumni Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Jawa FBS UNY terkait TAS. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian survey dengan metode deskriptif dengan jumlah responden 100 orang mahasiswa maupun alumni Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Jawa FBS UNY. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey. Berdasarkan hasil pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa: (1) Bidang ilmu linguistik serta sub bidang morfologi merupakan bidang penelitian yang paling banyak dikaji, (2) Alasan pemilihan judul dan topik skripsi adalah karena mahasiswa senang terhadap bidang ilmu dan topik yang diambil, (3) Kriteria utama seorang pembimbing yang ideal adalah kesesuaian bidang ilmu pembimbing dengan skripsi yang dikerjakan, (4) Responden menyatakan tidak setuju jika topik dan judul skripsi dipilihkan oleh prodi dengan alasan utama keberagaman kemampuan mahasiswa.Kata kunci: tugas akhir skripsi, Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Jawa, FBS UNY

Abstract

This article presents a report on the needs analysis of Javanese learning for speakers of other languages. Applying the descriptive-analytical method, this study used data gathered from the survey of 57 participants from 27 different countries. The present study revealed that the most difficult aspect of studying Javanese is on mastering its vocabulary (54.8%). This condition limited the learners' confidence to engage in any conversation with the locals (74.2%) and made them less progressive in some other related competencies such as reading and writing. Based on the participants' responses to the survey, the approach recommended to facilitate the program of Javanese for speakers of other languages is the communicative approach. The design of the program targeted proficiency in communicating using Javanese. Vocabulary learning is needed in real situations and contexts. Therefore, the learners could improve their capacity in Javanese and engage with the local people better.  Through its comprehensive examination of the challenges, opportunities, and potential solutions, this research not only contributes to the field of language education but also reinforces the value of embracing linguistic diversity as a cornerstone of our shared human experience.

Abstract

Fast Track is a superior program that has been implemented at various universities in Indonesia. However, this program which prioritizes effectiveness in completing undergraduate to postgraduate studies has never been implemented in the Javanese Language Education Study Program at UNY. This research aims to prepare an analysis of the need for implementing the fast-track program in Master's and Doctoral Javanese Language Education Study Programs, and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in the context of implementing the fast-track program to encourage the acceptance of new students in superior categories in the UNY PTNBH era with a hoplological perspective. This research uses educational ethnographic qualitative research methods. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires, interview techniques, observation, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data collection, data reduction, presentation of educational ethnographic data, and concluding. Data validity was carried out using triangulation techniques. Based on the research that has been carried out, the following results have been mapped: an analysis of the needs and interests of Javanese Language Education Study Program undergraduate students in participating in the fast track program has been mapped SOPs have been prepared for the implementation of the fast track program. The SOP is prepared based on needs analysis, comparison of fast-track implementation, and interviews with universities that have implemented fast-track programs.
