Abstract

This research aimed to design an efficient and environmentally friendly smartship to support maritime transportation activities in Pantai Indramayu. Research methods included literature review, 3D modeling, and numerical simulation. Results demonstrated that the proposed smartship design can reduce fuel consumption by up to 20% compared to conventional vessels of similar size. Additionally, the developed autonomous navigation system enables the ship to operate independently under various weather conditions. In conclusion, this smartship design holds significant potential to enhance operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact within Indonesia's maritime industry

Abstract

Technological developments in the electrical sector are increasingly rapid, demanding competent workers who master the latest software. Taruna Vocational School Surabaya as a vocational high school (SMK) in the field of electricity needs to improve its students' skills so they are ready to compete in the world of work. This research aims to improve the skills of students at Taruna Vocational School in Surabaya through the latest electrical software training. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data was collected through observation, interviews and document analysis. The research results show that the latest electrical software training has proven effective in improving the skills of students at Taruna Vocational School in Surabaya. This is proven by the increase in students' practical exam scores and the increase in students' ability to use the latest electrical software. This research makes a contribution to SMK Taruna Surabaya in improving the quality of education and competency of its students. The results of this research can also be a reference for other schools in improving their students' skills through the latest electrical software training.

Abstract

Project-Based Learning (PBL) has proven to be an effective pedagogical approach for enhancing students' competencies in technology and engineering. This study aims to explore the processes and outcomes of a robotics development project conducted by students of MAN 1 Madiun through extracurricular robotics activities. Employing a qualitative case study method, data were collected via observations, interviews, and document analysis. The results indicate that active student participation in the robotics project significantly improved their critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork skills. The presence of teacher guidance and adequate laboratory facilities was found to be instrumental in supporting the program’s success. This research offers several key contributions to technology education, particularly within Islamic secondary school settings. First, it demonstrates the adaptability of PBL in contexts where robotics is not part of the standard curriculum. Second, it highlights the development of both technical skills—such as electronic assembly, Arduino programming, and mechanical design—and soft skills essential for 21st-century learning. Third, the study presents empirical evidence that hands-on robotics projects can lead to increased student motivation and deeper understanding of STEM concepts. Additionally, the research proposes a practical and replicable model for implementing robotics-based programs in schools, identifying key success factors such as mentorship, infrastructure, and institutional support. Lastly, by engaging students in real-world project cycles—designing, building, testing, and refining—the initiative contributes to bridging the gap between school curricula and the collaborative, problem-solving demands of Industry 4.0
