Abstract

A non-profit organization is a nonprofit organization formed with the aim of providing assistance, and it does not seek profit in its activities. In addition to organizing blood donation campaigns, non-profit organizations often help hospitals in need of blood by providing the necessary blood supply through the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI). However, the problem faced is that the availability of blood stock is often depleted during urgent situations, resulting in the inability to fulfill the hospitals' blood requests. Therefore, as a solution to address the challenges faced by non-profit organizations, the development of an information system for predicting blood stock requirements is necessary to determine whether there is a need to replenish the blood stock in the following months. In this research, the developed blood stock prediction system implements the Fuzzy Mamdani method. The research results indicate that the Fuzzy Mamdani method, in predicting blood stock requirements, has achieved a satisfactory level of accuracy. Although a limited number of rules, specifically 24 rules, were processed, this method was able to provide predictions that closely approximated the actual requirements. However, it should be noted that the accuracy level can be further improved by adding more comprehensive rules and using a wider dataset.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of writing this article is to describe the respondents' understanding of God inciting David based on 2 Samuel 24:1. Christians get their teachings about God from the Bible. Although they do not know God perfectly, one conclusion that Christians believe about God is that God is love. But when faced with other truths about God such as the text of 2 Samuel 24:1 about God inciting David against the Israelites, would they still think that God was a good person? Therefore, this study wants to see the meaning of God inciting David based on 2 Samuel 24:1, with a different approach. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a hermeneutic approach to reader response criticism. This approach focuses on how the reader gives a response or meaning to the text read based on the reader's experience when reading a text. In the text of 2 Samuel 24:1, the respondents almost have the same thought about God inciting David, namely there is always a reason for every action God takes, including when He incited David against the Israelites.

Abstract

This study investigates the factors affecting grammar mastery among English language students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Mataram using a descriptive qualitative approach. It involves 25 first-semester students who participated in grammar tests, with data analysed through the Miles and Huberman model: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings highlight several significant challenges. First, the dominance of theoretical teaching methods without adequate practical application makes grammar learning difficult for students. Students often memorize rules but struggle to apply them in real contexts. Second, the lack of opportunities to practice speaking English limits students’ ability to internalize grammatical structures, reducing their confidence and fluency. Although English exposure through media is frequent, it is generally passive such as listening to songs or watching movies without interactive engagement. Third, students face challenges in understanding English vocabulary, particularly idiomatic expressions and cultural references, which are often absent from local linguistic environments. These unfamiliar elements create confusion and hinder comprehension. The study suggests that grammar instruction should be more communicative, include cultural integration, and provide active learning opportunities to enhance grammar mastery. These findings offer valuable insights for improving English grammar teaching strategies in similar EFL contexts.

Abstract

Sequence alignment is fundamental in bioinformatics, with Smith-Waterman (local) and Needleman-Wunsch (global) algorithms widely applied. However, comparative analyses on highly similar viral genomes such as SARS-CoV-2 remain scarce. This study systematically evaluated both algorithms using the first 5,000 nucleotides of two SARS-CoV-2 genomes (29,903 and 29,684 nt) under four parameter configurations: standard, low gap penalty, high gap penalty, and high match reward. Performance was assessed through alignment score, sequence identity, gap distribution, execution time, and parameter sensitivity. Both algorithms produced identical sequence identity (97.80%), with 4,943 matches out of 5,054 positions. Smith-Waterman consistently yielded higher alignment scores (12.6-112 points advantage), while Needleman-Wunsch was substantially faster (0.7752 vs 3.9014 s), showing 5.03 times greater computational efficiency. These findings indicate that both methods are reliable for highly similar viral sequences, with a trade-off between scoring precision and computational speed. This study provides the first parameter-sensitive comparison for full SARS-CoV02 genomes, emphasizing how parameter tuning can influence performance outcomes. A key limitation is that the analysis was restricted to the first 5,000 nucleotides, which may not capture variability across the complete genome.
