Abstract

Background: Childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a leading cause of cancer-related morbidity and mortality in low- and middle-income countries, including Indonesia. Parental gaps in knowledge, attitudes, preventive behaviors, and healthy lifestyle practices contribute to delayed detection and poor outcomes. Digital health platforms offer scalable strategies to strengthen preventive health literacy in families. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of EM-2R3SW, a web-based digital education application, on parental knowledge, attitudes, preventive behaviors, and healthy lifestyle practices related to childhood leukemia prevention. Methods: A quasi-experimental pretest–posttest study was conducted among mothers of children aged 0–18 years in Sukmajaya District, Depok, Indonesia (N = 112). Participants accessed leukemia-prevention multimedia content within EM-2R3SW over two weeks. Validated questionnaires measured outcomes at baseline and post-intervention. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon signed-rank tests due to non-normal distribution (Kolmogorov–Smirnov p < 0.05). Results: Significant improvements were observed across all outcomes. Knowledge scores increased from 16.48 to 27.65, attitudes from 68.15 to 85.95, preventive behaviors from 72.39 to 112.20, and healthy lifestyle practices from 68.39 to 109.27 (all p < 0.001). Category transitions demonstrated marked progression from inadequate to good–very good levels, particularly in preventive practices. Conclusion: The EM-2R3SW digital intervention effectively improved parental literacy and behavioral determinants for childhood leukemia prevention. This approach is feasible, low-cost, and scalable for community-based cancer prevention efforts in resource-limited settings. Larger randomized studies with long-term follow-up are recommended

Abstract

Stunting Incidence Over the Past Decade with 148.1 Million (22.3 Percent of Children Under 5 Years of Age Worldwide Affected) in 2022. Indonesia is included in the Third Country with the Highest Prevalence of Stunting Cases at 36.4%. The purpose of PkM is to provide health education related to stunting, its causes and prevention. In addition, it also introduced an information system related to stunting calculations. The community service activity was attended by all participants who attended a total of 53 health cadres of the Benda Baru Health Center. Activities still need to have more audience members so that the results are wider and more beneficial. The output of the implementation or solution as an indicator of the success of the program is to ask participants about the material explained during the PkM, namely the definition, causes, impacts, stunting prevention and also about calculations using stunting calculators. PkM is running smoothly. The results of the post-test score have increased compared to the pre-test score. This shows that there is an increase in public knowledge after counseling is carried out. The results of this community service are useful as a contribution of knowledge to Nursing and Public Health Promotion and Education Health Providing knowledge about stunting is expected to make children free from malnutrition and stunting.

Abstract

According to an analysis conducted by the World Bank Group, WHO, and UNICEF, around 144 million children who are under the age of five (21.3%) were affected by stunting worldwide in 2019. By 2022, this figure had risen to an estimated 148.1 million children (22.3%). This study aims to evaluate the health promotion interventions utilizing a prototype of a stunting health information system and a 3D pageflip e-module in enhancing attitudes and knowledge for the prevention of stunting in South Tangerang. This study applied a quantitative approach combined with a quasi-experimental design, utilizing a two-group design with a pretest and post-test measurements framework. A total of 106 individuals surveyed were included, divided equally into two groups: one group received the prototype stunting health information system intervention, and the other was provided with the 3D Pageflip e-module, comprising 53 participants for every group. The Wilcoxon test showed the prototype of the stunting health information system group showed a significant difference for knowledge (p = 0.046) and attitude (p = 0.025), and the 3D pageflip e-module group showed a significant difference in knowledge and attitude (p = 0.000). The Mann-Whitney test showed that there was a significant difference for knowledge (p = 0.000) and for attitude (p = 0.042). The effect size test for knowledge is 1.06 and for attitude 0.27. It can be concluded that the prototype of the stunting health information system and the 3D pageflip e-module effectively increase mothers' knowledge and attitudes regarding stunting prevention. Keywords: Prototype, Stunting Health Information System, 3D Pageflip E Module, Knowledge, Preventive, Attitude
