Abstract

This research aimed to look the influence of the combination of green fertilizer Azolla pinnata with guano toward the growth and production of pakchoy and to obtain the best treatment from Azolla pinnata with guano toward pakchoy. This research was conducted at the experimental farm of Farming Faculty of Riau University. This research was accomplished during 3 months that was from June to August 2014. It was carried out experimentally with Group Random Design (GRD), the treatment given which consisted of several stages; P0 = without any treatment ( 0 kg/plot), P1 =  Azolla 0,5 kg/plot + guano 0,3 kg/plot, P2 =  Azolla 0,5 kg/plot + guano 0,4 kg/plot, P3 =  Azolla 1 kg/plot + guano 0,3 kg/plot, P4 =  Azolla 1 kg/plot + guano 0,3 kg/plot, P5 =  Azolla 1,5 kg/plot + guano 0,3 kg/plot, P6 =  Azolla 1,5 kg/plot + guano 0,4 kg/plot. Every treatment was repeated 3 times so that it was obtained 21 experiment units. Every experiment unit consisted of 36 plants and 3 of them was being sample. The observed parameters were that the tall of plants, the amount of leaves, the wide of leaves, the weight of plants and the weight of plants which were deserve to consume. The obtained data was analyzed statistically with analysis of varience and continued to Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% degree. The fertilizing combination of 1,5 kg/plot Azolla Pinnata and 0,3 kg/plot guano was the best treatment in raise the growth and production of  pakchoy. Keywords: Pakchoy, Azolla pinnata, Guano

Abstract

Air tidak hanya berfungsi untuk reaksi kimia semen pada beton tetapi air juga menentu-kan kemudahan pengerjaan (workability)  beton. Oleh karena itu penambahan air pada komposisi beton harus dikendalikan dan disesuaikan dengan workability yang diingin-kan.. Salah satu cara agar workability tinggi adalah dengan memakai nilai slump yang tinggi pada saat desain campuran. Nilai slump yang tinggi ternyata seringkali menim-bulkan  kekhawatiran apakah kuat tekan yang direncanakan akan tercapai.Dengan cara melakukan desain campuran untuk kuat tekan rencana 20 MPa dengan tiga variasi nilai slump yaitu slump 30, slump 60 dan slump 90. Agregat yang digunakan pada ketiga campuran berasal dari sumber yang sama dan semen yang juga sama. Maka  ingin diketahui bagaimana pengaruh variasi  nilai slump terhadap kuat tekan beton. Dapat disimpulkan walaupun terdapat perbedaan hasil uji kuat tekan tetapi variasi nilai slump tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kuat tekan beton terutama pada umur beton 28 hari dan kuat tekan rencana juga dapat tercapai.

Abstract

Rice production decreasingly in Riau can be caused by the loses of soil nutrient consequence due to soil leached, plant reserving and using of the same macro fertilizer continuously, that resulting unavailable nutrient for rice plant. The research aimed to get interaction among N fertilizer and mixture of Palm oil empty fruit bunch (POEFB) compost with boiler ash on growth and uptake N, P dan K by rice. The research has conducted in Rambai island village, Kampar Country, Riau province from December 2012 to March 2013. The method of research is experimentally with using a factorial completely randomized design with two factors. The first factor is N fertilizer with 2 level ( N1 = 100 kg N/ha and N2 = 200 kg N/ha). The second factor is POEFB compost mixed with boiler ash with 4 levels (A0 = without compost of POEFB and boiler ash, A1 = 5 tons/ha compost of POEFB + 500 kg boiler ash/ha, A2 = 5 tons/ha compost of POEFB + 750 kg boiler ash/ha and A3 = 5 tons/ha compost of POFEB + 1000 kg boiler ash/ha). The research of parameter are plant height, maximum number of tillers, dry weight to shoot and N, P, K nutrient uptake. The result showed that the application of 5 ton/ha compost of POEFB + 750 kg boiler ash/ha is tend to increase effect on plant height, maximum number of tillers, dry weight to shoot by rice compart 5 ton compost POEFB + 500 kg boiler ash/ha and control well the follow 100-200 kg N/ha. Nutrient uptake N, P and K by  rice plants is tend to increase with increasing dosis 750 kg boiler ash/ha as mixing 5 ton/ha compost POEFB be compared mixed with 5 ton/ha compost POFEB and 500 kg boiler ash/ha or control well the follow 100-200 kg N/ha.     Keyword : Compost, boiler ash, nitrogen fertilizer and rice.

Abstract

Sweet corn (Zea mays L. varsaccarata Sturt) is a plant that is harvested young and many of them cultivated in tropical regions in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the effect of interaction TKKS compost and fertilizer N, P, and K on the growth and yield of sweet corn, as well as getting the best dose. Experiments conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru in April and July 2014. The study was conducted experiments using a factorial randomized block design (RCBD), 3 replications. Factor 1: Compost TKKS and Factor 2: Fertilizer N, P and K (Urea, SP-36 and KCl). Parameters those measured were plant height (cm), stalk diameter (mm),  tasseling time  (DAP), silking time (DAP), harvesting time (DAP), cob diameter (mm), husked cob weight / 4, 5 m2 (kg) and without husk cob weight / plot. The results showed those compost TKKS with Urea, SP-36 and KCl observations showed interaction parameter appears when the tassel and silking time, a single factor in the treatment of compost TKKS significantly different at a time parameter tasseling time and husked cob weight while single factor Urea, SP-36 and KCl had no meaning on all parameters. Fertilizer combination TKKS 4 ton / ha with urea (225 kg / ha), SP-36 (150 kg / ha) and KCl (75 kg / ha) gives a high weight of husked cobs with the acquisition of the results of 9.167 kg / 4.5 m2, equivalent to 20.373 tons / ha, compared with those without compost TKKS and without Urea, SP-36 and KCl husked cob weight gain of 7.133 kg / 4.5 m2, equivalent to 15.839 tons / ha (up 22.25%).   Keywords: Sweet corn, compost and fertilizer NPK TKKS

Abstract

Sweet corn (Zea mays Var saccarata Sturt) widely used because it has the nutrients and relatively high levels of sugar so it tastes sweeter than regular corn. Fertilization is one of the important agronomic aspects considered as closely related to the planting medium, for that is necessary for soil fertilization can provide nutrients needed by plants sweet corn so that the results can be maximized. This study aimed to determine the effect of vermicompost and NPK fertilizer on the growth and yield of sweet corn and get the best treatment effect. Research conducted at the experimental farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The study conducted from May to August 2014. The study was carried out experiments using a randomized block design (RBD) factorial consisting of two factors, namely vermicompost and NPK fertilizer with 3 replications. Parameters measured were plant height, harvest age, weight cornhusk cob, cob weight without husk, production per plot, circumference cob and length cob. The results showed vermicompost and NPK significantly affected all parameters were observed. Doses vermicompost 4 tons/ha and 250 kg NPK/ha gives the best results on the growth and yield of sweet corn compared with other treatments.   Keyword: NPK fertilizer, sweet corn, vermicompos

This research was conducted on April 2015 until May 2015 in the experimental garden in Agriculture faculty of University of Riau, Panam, Pekanbaru. Research was conducted experimentally using Randomized Block Design (RBD) factorial. Each treatment was repeated 3 times to obtain 36 experimental units. Abstract

This study aims to look at the effect of sawdustash and guano fertilizer on the growth and production of pepper plants in peatland as well as to get appropriate dose of sawdust ash and manure guano. This research was conducted at the experimental peat garden, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, RimboPanjang, Kampar. The research lasted for five months, from December 2013 until May 2014. The experiments was conducted using factorial randomized block design consisting of two factors and three repetition. The first factor is the sawdustash 10 ton / ha (4 kg/plot), 20 tons / ha (8 kg/plot), 30 t / ha (12 kg/plot) and the second factor is the guano fertilizer, 100 kg / ha (40 gram/plot), 200 kg / ha (80 gram/plot), 300 kg / ha (120 gram/plot). Parameters measured were plant height, days to flowering, fruit length, fruit diameter, harvesting age, fresh fruit weight and fruit weight per plot. The data obtained were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance followed by Duncan's multiple range test at 5%. The result show that the best dose for enhancing chili growth and production is 20 ton/ha (8 kg/plot) sawdust ash and 300 kg/ha (120 gram/plot) guano fertilizer. The best treatment parameters: flowering age, harvesting age, fruit length, fruit diameter, and fresh fruit weight, fruit weight per plot.   Keywords: chili,sawdust ash, guanofertilizer and peatland

Abstract

Sweet corn is one of the crops that has a fairly large role in provide the nutritional needs of the people. One of the effort that can  be do to improve the growth and production of sweet corn is fertilization. The aim of this research are to determine the effect of interaction of cocoa peel’s compost and Urea, TSP and KCl fertilizer on growth and yield of sweet corn and get the best dose of treatment. This research was conducted experimentally by using Randomized Design Group (RDG) factorial with two factors namely cocoa peel’s compost treatment consist of 4 levels namely 0 ton/ha (K0); 2,5 tons/ha (K1); 5 tons/ha (K2);            7,5 tons/ha (K3) and Urea, TSP and KCl fertilizer treatment consist of 4 levels namely        (50 kg Urea; 37,5 kg TSP; 25 kg KCl)/ha (P1); (100 kg Urea; 75 kg TSP; 50 kg KCl)/ha (P2); (150 kg Urea; 112,5 kg TSP; 75 kg KCl)/ha (P3); (200 kg Urea;150 kg TSP; 100 kg KCl)/ha (P4) with 3 replications. The parameters focus on plant height, the ratio of editorial root, cob length without cornhusk, the number of rows and cob weight without cornhusk/plot.            The result of this research shows that the interaction of cocoa peel’s compost and Urea, TSP and KCl fertilizer there is no real effect to all the parameters. Giving cocoa peel’s compost  7.5 tons/ha and fertilizer (200 g Urea, 150 g TSP and 100 g KCl)/ha is the best dose of treatment.   Key word: Sweet corn, cocoa peel’s compost, Urea, TSP, KCl  fertilizer

Abstract

Chili is really needed to complete comsumption of family needs and industrial fabrics. The biggest problem low production in the cultivation of chili’s in Riau isthe land conversion and lack of proper cultivation technique. One way to increase productionin the cultivation of chili’s withfertilizing and giving water with right doses, right way and the right timeincreasesproduction of chili plants.The objective of the research was to determine the bestinteraction of giving NPK fertilizerand water volumeof growth and production of chili plants.This research was conducted at Gauze House the Technical Service Unit of the Faculty Agriculture from Mey to October2014.This research arranged experimentally using Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which consists of 2 factors.The first factor is the NPK fertilizer consists of 3 levels: NPK fertilizer dose of0.625 g/plant, NPK fertilizer dose of 1.25  g/plant  and NPK fertilizer  dose of  1.875 g/plant. The second factor is the giving water volume consists of 3 levels: water volume of 0,5 liter/plant, water volume of 1 liter/plant and water volume of 1,5 liter/plant. From two factors, then obtained 9 combined treatments. So that acquired 27 units of the experiment, each experimental unit consisted of 5 and take 3 samples, plant, so there were 135 samples plant. Observation parameters were plant height, flowering date, dichotomous height, stem diameter, crown width, fruit length, fruit diameter, harvest quantity, fruit weight per plant. The research result showed that the treatment of giving NPK fertilizer to increase where height plant, flowering date, crown width, harvest quantity and fruit weight per plant. Giving water volume on increase plantheight, flowering date, stem diameter, crown width and fruit weight per plant. Giving NPK fertilizer  dose 1,25 gr/plant with water volume 1,5 liter is the best treatment interactionof height plant, stem diameter, crown width, fruit diameter, harvest quantity and fruit weight per plant.
