Abstract

In general, teacherÂ’s main job is to plan, guide, and evaluate the teaching and learning process. However, it is not as easy as the teacher thinks it is as he or she may face some challenges. Though he or she has carried out his or her job, he or she cannot yield an optimum result. One factor deals with the learning environment. An unsupportive learning environment may affect the physical and psychological aspects of students. This may result in the studentsÂ’ fatigue and it influences their cognitive development and creativity which in turn affect their learning achievement. Ice breaking is an activity which can overcome those problems. The current article addresses the types and how ice breaking is implemented to enhance the quality of learning itself.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the third grade science elementary BSEtext book’s embracement materials to meet a demand of the basic competencies.The problems of this research are about how the third grade science elementaryBSE text book’s embracement materials can meet a demand of the basiccompetencies. Those problems are listed into (the embracement, thoughtful thecontexts, the difficulty level, the topic materials organization and the validity) ofthe concepts which are given in the third grade science elementary BSE text book.The current results conclude that the range of material embracementfulfills the material substances which applied in the competency’s standard andthe basic competency that are already arranged by the regulation of NationalMinistry of Education number 22 year 2006 about the content’s standards.Materials in each topic contain a worksheet for helping appreciate the learningprocess and there a repeating to further understanding.The difficulty level of the third grade science elementary BSE text book ofS. Rositawati, Aris Muharam already meets the level of thinking maturity and thesocial emotional of students. Language description which used to explain conceptor applicative illustration and how to describe a defined example are good enough.Sentences that used are communicative enough with the illustrated whichexplain the concepts from closest environment to the global environment. Theorganization and the layout systematic in each chapter meet the laws andsystematically, contain preface, content and closing. The layout are suitable withthe deductive concepts (general into specific) or deductive (specific into general),start from the easiest to the most difficult, from the exact into abstract, and fromthe simplest into the complex, from the well-known into unknown. There somemisconceptions which are found with definition correlation, explanation indescription and applied examples.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis iklan Grand Prix: Peluncuran Bliblihome bersama Ringgo dan Sabai dari sudut pandang ethos, pathos, dan logos. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan data berupa adegan dan teks dalam iklan. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga elemen ethos, pathos, dan logos digunakan secara seimbang dalam iklan tersebut. Elemen ethos terlihat dalam penggunaan selebriti Ringgo dan Sabai sebagai duta merek yang dapat dipercaya dan berwewenang. Sementara itu, elemen pathos ditunjukkan melalui adegan yang membangkitkan perasaan positif pada penonton. Akhirnya, elemen logos muncul dalam informasi yang jelas dan rinci tentang produk Bliblihome yang sedang dipromosikan dalam iklan. Secara keseluruhan, penggunaan ketiga elemen ethos, pathos, dan logos dalam iklan Grand Prix: Peluncuran Bliblihome bersama Ringgo dan Sabai digunakan secara seimbang untuk memengaruhi penonton dalammembentuk persepsi mereka terhadap merek dan produk yang dipromosikan dalam iklan tersebut.AbstractThis research aims to analyze the advertisement of Grand Prix: Bliblihome Launch with Ringgo and Sabai from the ethos, pathos, and logos perspectives. The method used is descriptive qualitative by using data in the form of scenes and texts in the advertisement. The research findings show that the three elements of ethos, pathos, and logos are used in a balanced manner in the advertisement. The element of ethos is seen in the use of celebrities Ringgo and Sabai as trustworthy and authoritative brand ambassadors. Meanwhile, the element of pathos is shown through scenes that evoke positive feelings in the audience. Finally, the element of logos appears in clear and detailed information about the Bliblihome product being promoted in the advertisement. In conclusion, the use of the three elements of ethos, pathos, and logos in the advertisement of Grand Prix: Bliblihome Launch with Ringgo and Sabai are utilized in a balanced way to influence the audience in shaping their perception of the brand and product being promoted in the advertisement.

Abstract

Dalam pembelajaran IPAS, materi cahaya masih dirasa sulit untuk dipahami. Hal ini dikarenakan peserta didik seringkali mempelajari materi cahaya dan sifatnya hanya dengan menghafal saja tanpa mempelajari lebih dalam isi materi. Dalam mempelajari isi materi, diperlukannya rasa keingintahuan untuk menggali informasi lebih dalam sehingga Peserta didik akan lebih mudah mengingat dan mengaitkan apa yang mereka pelajari. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan pengaruh model pembelajaran dan penjelasan peserta didik terhadap rasa ingin tahu peserta didik tentang materi cahaya di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif jenis penelitian quasy experimen. Sampel keseluruhan pada penelitian ini berjumlah 68 peserta didik yang terdiri dari kelas kontrol dan eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai T-test sebesar 0,00 > 0,05. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Student Facilitator and Explaning Terhadap Rasa Ingintahu Peserta DIdik Materi Cahaya di SD

Abstract

This study investigates the anxiety experienced by 10th-grade students of Madrasah Aliyah Balongrejo Jombang in learning English. The research focuses on five types of anxiety: communication, performance, test, assessment, and comprehension. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, the study highlights significant levels of anxiety among students, including nervousness when speaking English, fear of misunderstanding, and stress during exams. Recommendations are proposed, such as implementing supportive teaching methods, providing psychological interventions, and organizing skill-enhancing programs to mitigate anxiety and improve students' English proficiency.

Abstract

This current research reveals how President Trump grammatically constructed his clauses to trivialize the coronavirus (COVID-19). This research uses a discourse analysis approach with a qualitative design. The research data are President Trump’s trivializing clauses (192 main clauses) taken from his speeches, press interviews, remarks, and tweets from January 2020 to June 2020. Hallidayan SFL and Straker’s technique of trivialization are used as the basis of analysis. The result shows that most of the trivializing clauses are declarative while the others are interrogative and imperative. It is also identified that the declarative mood (statements of opinion and fact) reflects the techniques of sneaking through, trivializing the target, and discounting the target. The interrogative mood (rhetorical questions) demonstrates the technique of discounting the target. In addition, the imperative mood (directives) reflects the technique of sneaking through. Finally, the result also shows that oversimplification, severity decrease, and exaggeration characterize President Trump’s trivializing clauses.

Abstract

This research is motivated by a problem of low science process skills. The purpose of this stud is to find out whether there is an influence on the use of the Inquiry learning model assisted by PhET media as a Virtual Laboratory on students' science process skills on class IV energy transformation material at SDN Dukuh Menanggal 1/ 424 Surabaya. This type of research is a Quasi-Experimental Design experimental research with a Post-test Only Control Group Design research design. The sample of this study was class IV B totaling 25 people as a control class and class IV C totaling 24 people as an experimental class. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. Research data were obtained using science process skills test sheets. From the results of the t-test, it shows that the results of the study of Sig. (2 tailed) (0.00) values < 0.05 which means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. It can be concluded that the Inquiry learning model assisted by PhET media as a Virtual Laboratory affects the science process skills of students of SDN Dukuh Menanggal 1/424 Surabaya.

Abstract

Low motivation and student learning outcomes are caused by boredom and the notion that science material is difficult to understand. Students are forced to remember and store all kinds of information without connecting it with everyday life. The purpose of this study was to describe the teacher’s activities, student responses, and learning outcomes when the Make A Match model was used in learning natural sciences to transform energy forms with the help of multimedia. The object of this research is the fourth grade students of SDN Simpang, Prambon. The sampling method used purposive sampling technique. The research design uses a descriptive quantitative type approach. The results showed that teacher activity earned a score of 95 in the “Very Good” category, student responses obtained a percentage of 72,3% in the “Good” category, and student learning outcomes with a total of 13 student who completed obtained a percentage of 86,6% in category “Very Good”. So it can be concluded that student learning outcomes and activity can be improved by applying the Make A Match model with the help of the media in learning natural science changes in energy forms.

Abstract

This study examines high school teachers' perspectives on using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in teaching English in Jombang, East Java. Employing a mixed-method approach, it involves surveys of 42 participants (2 teachers and 40 students) and interviews with 4 teachers and 4 students. The findings show that AI is seen as an effective tool for enhancing English learning, with most participants expressing positive attitudes. Younger teachers demonstrate higher readiness to adopt AI, though challenges like limited technology access and insufficient training persist. The study emphasizes AI's transformative potential in English education, highlighting the importance of professional development and addressing practical barriers to maximize its benefits in teaching methodologies and student engagement

Abstract

AbstrakPembelajaran merupakan suatu proses yang terdiri dari serangkaian perilaku yang terjadi dalam situasi pendidikan oleh guru dan siswa berdasarkan hubungan timbal balik untuk mencapai tujuan tertentu. Dalam pembelajaran, ada banyak tujuan yang harus dicapai. Dalam konteks ini, pembelajaran adalah kumpulan komponen pembelajaran yang berinteraksi dan berintegrasi satu sama lain. Termasuk dalam studi kuasi-eksperimental, studi kuasi-eksperimental adalah studi yang memberikan pengobatan dan mengukur konsekuensi pengobatan tetapi tidak menggunakan sampel acak untuk menyimpulkan perubahan yang disebabkan oleh pengobatan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah soal tes esai. Hasil Berdasarkan analisis dalam penelitian ini, terdapat pengaruh metode pengajian terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif terhadap karakteristik siswa kelas dua SDN Gayungan II Surabaya. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dengan menggunakan rumus t-test. Sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa metode pengajian keterampilan berpikir kreatif terhadap karakteristik siswa kelas II di SDN Gayungan II Surabaya.Kata Kunci: Metode Pengajian, Keterampilan Berpikir Kreatif AbstractLearning is a process consisting of a series of behaviors that occur in educational situations by teachers and students based on reciprocal relationships to achieve certain goals. In learning, there are many goals to be achieved. In this context, learning is a collection of learning components that interact and integrate with each other.Included in quasi-experimental studies, quasi-experimental studies are studies that provide treatment and measure the consequences of treatment but do not use a random sample to infer changes caused by the treatment. The method used in this research is essay test questions.Results Based on the analysis in this study, there is an effect of the recitation method on creative thinking skills on the characteristics of the second grade students of SDN Gayungan II Surabaya. This can be proven by using the t-test formula. So it can be said that the method of recitation of creative thinking skills on the characteristics of class II students at SDN Gayungan II Surabaya.Keywords: Recitation Method, Creative Thinking Skills
