Abstract

Di Era globalisasi dan kemajuan teknologi seperti sekarang ini, industri penerbangan mengalami pertumbuhan yang signifikan. Hal ini menuntut peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan di bidang penerbangan, tidak terkecuali bagi generasi muda. Sebagai upaya untuk mempersiapkan sumber daya manusia yang kompeten di industri penerbangan, sosialisasi tentang fasilitas sisi darat dan udara menjadi penting, terutama bagi siswa/siswi di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) yang memiliki jurusan terkait penerbangan. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk menambah wawasan dan pengetahuan siswa/i SMK di Palembang mengenai industri penerbangan, memperkenalkan berbagai fasilitas sisi darat dan udara yang ada di bandar udara, serta mendorong minat siswa/i untuk berkarir di bidang penerbangan. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini meliputi dua langkah diantaranya : (1) Menyusun rencana kegiatan yang mencangkup jadwal, lokasi dan durasi pelaksanaan sosialisasi dan (2) Menentukan metode pembelajaran. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan selama satu hari dan peserta akan diberikan pre-test dan post-test untuk melihat progress daya serap materi yang diberikan sebagai bahan evaluasi kedepannya. Evaluasi kegiatan akan diawali dengan pengambilan sampling populasi dari perwakilan siswa SMK sebanyak 9 orang dengan pengambilan data melalui pengisian quisioner. Data yang disajikan bersifat kuantitatif dan terukur sehingga menjadi bahan evaluasi dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan kedepannya. Pada kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menumbuhkan bibit unggul yang akan mengisi kebutuhan industry penerbangan di masa depan.

Abstract

Air pollution poses a serious threat to human health, especially in public areas such as airport terminals. Levels of PM2.5 and CO2 are increasing due to heavy activities and vehicle emissions. This phenomenon is exacerbated by poor air ventilation, constant aircraft movement, an increase in the number of passengers, the use of fossil fuels, and uncontrolled construction and passenger vehicle activities. This article reviews the factors that influence the real-time monitoring of PM2.5 and CO2 at airport terminals, focusing on the use of low-cost sensors and Internet of Things (IoT) technology, as well as air pollutant measurement techniques. The research results indicate that low-cost sensors can provide significant monitoring results, although proper calibration is required to ensure optimal accuracy. The implementation of IoT technology allows for the integration of various sensors into a connected network, increasing efficiency in data collection and analysis. Real-time air pollutant measurements are essential for maintaining air quality in terminal areas, positively impacting the health and comfort of airport visitors and staff. This article concludes that the use of low-cost sensors and IoT technology can enhance the reliability and responsiveness of air quality monitoring systems. The literature review findings affirm that: 1) Low-cost sensors are significant for real-time monitoring of PM2.5 and CO2; 2) IoT is significant for real-time monitoring of PM2.5 and CO2; and 3) Real-time measurement of PM2.5 and CO2 air pollutants is significant for monitoring at airport terminal areas. Abstract

The study aims to create a bird-repelling device called Bird-repelling with solar cell and sound wave energy efficient protection (B-SWEEP) to reduce the likelihood of bird strikes. The study employs a Research and Development (R&D) methodology, whereby data is gathered through a site survey to identify bird-highlighted places, including documentation of the quantity and variety of birds observed during a specific timeframe at the Politeknik Penerbangan Palembang—analysis conducted by measuring the range and power consumption effectiveness. The findings indicate that B-SWEEP generated sound waves at a distance of 100 meters with a maximum frequency of 500 Hz. The B-SWEEP test field is used six times, with a five-meter buffer between each experiment and the user. The purpose is to evaluate how well B-SWEEP can receive Wi-Fi. This test enables us to determine the distance at which B-SWEEP began to perform poorly when the user gave commands, and it helps improve B-SWEEP even further as a result of this research. It demonstrates how B-SWEEP deters birds in a field. Using solar panels for charging, B-SWEEP can function without electricity for one hour. Using an ESP32-CAM microcontroller to implement Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. Airport managers can recognize the kinds of birds that fly into the airside area with the help of this micro camera, including sparrows that are immediately linked to a telephone. Due to its sound and wave, the sweep audio signal might deter birds from nesting and visiting the airport airside. Integrating IoT-based automation technologies with renewable energy sources can facilitate the execution of the eco-airport initiative. Based on testing results and feedback from 51 respondents, improvements to B-SWEEP include enhancing usability by simplifying interface complexity and adjusting visual elements for greater appeal. Furthermore, expanding its capabilities to repel a wider range of animals through tailored ultrasonic technology would enhance its effectiveness and user satisfaction, making B-SWEEP a more versatile solution.

Abstract

Indonesia's strategic geographical location and conditions are a result of its archipelagic status. Indeed, this significantly impacts the livelihoods of Indonesians, particularly in the area of transportation. In order to facilitate the mobility of individuals between islands, the government constructed transportation infrastructure and facilities. This will serve as a reference for government regulations that aim to reduce inequality, specifically in the development and distribution of products and services outside Java, particularly in Papua. The primary objective of this research is to conduct a connectivity analysis as an initial step towards optimizing the transportation network and determining the level of connectivity between Indonesian provinces through air transportation. Next, the researchers will study the existing air transportation network's structure to understand its characteristics clearly. It will be helpful material for formulating optimization and network management scenarios. The structuring pattern in question is the application of the hub-and-spoke network concept. The hub-and-spoke network pattern focuses on optimization problems from the perspective of economies of scale. The researchers optimized the provincial capital airport's location to establish a hub airport and subsequently refined the analysis results to enhance the efficiency of the new flight service network. The above steps will compare air travel performance before and after the network arrangement scenario. Indicators for the network connectivity level will also be present, indicating that the final product optimization is now ready for verification. The target of this research is to produce a concept or optimize the location of airport hubs through a comprehensive study taking into account geographic factors and conducting an analysis of the location of National Aviation Hub airports, which is the novelty of this research.

Abstract

Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja (K3) merupakan aspek penting dalam menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang aman, termasuk di lingkungan Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak (LPKA). Anak binaan di LPKA Palembang memiliki latar belakang sosial dan pengalaman kerja yang beragam, sehingga masih banyak yang belum memahami prinsip-prinsip K3. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran anak binaan terhadap pentingnya K3 melalui kegiatan sosialisasi yang meliputi materi teori dan praktik langsung, seperti penggunaan alat pelindung diri (APD), prosedur kerja aman, serta pertolongan pertama pada kecelakaan ringan. Metode kegiatan terdiri dari tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Sebanyak 25 anak binaan mengikuti kegiatan ini dengan antusias, yang diukur melalui pre-test dan post-test menggunakan metode N-Gain Score. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan peserta, dengan sebagian besar peserta berada dalam kategori peningkatan sedang. Kegiatan ini dinilai efektif dalam memberikan pemahaman dasar K3 serta mendukung pembentukan karakter disiplin dan tanggung jawab pada anak binaan. Sosialisasi ini juga berkontribusi terhadap tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan (SDGs), khususnya dalam aspek pekerjaan layak dan kehidupan sehat.

Abstract

Era digital menuntut generasi muda memiliki kemampuan tidak hanya sebagai pengguna pasif, tetapi juga sebagai kreator teknologi. Namun, literasi digital remaja di Kota Palembang masih tergolong rendah dan belum banyak mendapat akses pada pelatihan keterampilan digital praktis. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran digital remaja melalui pelatihan pemrograman menggunakan Kodular, sebuah platform pemrograman visual berbasis blok. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pre-test, pelatihan langsung, praktik pembuatan aplikasi, dan evaluasi hasil. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman digital dan kemampuan teknis peserta dalam mengembangkan aplikasi sederhana. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Kodular efektif sebagai media edukasi digital yang menarik dan aplikatif untuk remaja.

Abstract

This research aims to enhance the maintenance practices of Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) protective clothing through the implementation of the Proficient Rinse and Optimal Garment Laundering (PRO GALO) system, which integrates advanced washing and rinsing techniques. Utilizing a Research and Development (R&D) approach, this study systematically developed a prototype based on the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation model. The findings reveal that the PRO GALO system significantly improves garment cleanliness, odor removal, and durability compared to traditional laundering methods. Quantitative assessments demonstrated superior performance in preserving fabric integrity, colorfastness, and seam strength. Feedback from ARFF personnel and cadets indicated high satisfaction rates, highlighting the system's user-friendliness and time-saving advantages. Expert validation further emphasized the innovative aspects of the system, enhancing safety and operational readiness in emergency response situations. The implications for ARFF operations and the Aviation Fire and Rescue Study Program stress the importance of integrating advanced cleaning technologies to prepare future professionals better. Ultimately, the PRO GALO system represents a significant advancement in ensuring reliable protective gear for ARFF personnel.

Abstract

Keselamatan penerbangan merupakan komponen vital dalam industri penerbangan yang tidak hanya menjadi tanggung jawab internal industri penerbangan, tetapi juga memerlukan partisipasi aktif masyarakat, khususnya mereka yang tinggal di sekitar bandar udara. Minimnya pemahaman masyarakat terhadap budaya keselamatan penerbangan menjadi salah satu isu yang perlu ditangani secara edukatif dan preventif. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) ini dilaksanakan dalam rangka semangat memperingati Hari Kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia ke-80. Kegiatan penyuluhan keselamatan penerbangan bagi anak usia dini diselenggarakan sebagai bagian dari rangkaian acara yang tidak hanya bersifat seremonial, tetapi juga edukatif.  Metode pelaksanaan meliputi survei awal, pre test, seminar edukatif, pemutaran video keselamatan, simulasi prosedur dasar, dan evaluasi post test. Luaran dari kegiatan ini mencakup publikasi pada media social Poltekbang Palembang, Laporan hasil PkM, serta publikasi pada jurnal PkM. Diharapkan melalui kegiatan ini, masyarakat dapat menjadi agen perubahan dalam membangun budaya keselamatan yang lebih kuat di lingkungan sekitar bandara, sekaligus memperkuat sinergi antara institusi pendidikan dan otoritas penerbangan.

Abstract

Salah satu bentuk kontribusi terhadap monitoring status gizi anak usia dini khususnya yang berada di wilayah kerja Poltekbang Palembang serta memberikan dasar terhadap mereka terhadap pentingnya memiliki perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat. Diharapkan dengan adanya status gizi yang baik dan sehat, maka proses tumbuh kembang pada anak usia dini akan berjalan optimal dan hal tersebut dapat menunjang kelancaran dan keberhasilan dalam tahapan pendidikan yang dijalani. Melalui giat Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Pemeriksaan Kesehatan Gratis dan Sosialisasi Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat Pada Populasi Anak Usia Dini Di Wilayah Kerja Sekitar Politeknik Penerbangan Palembang Dalam Rangka Memperingati HUT Kemerdekaan RI ke-80 Serta Menunjang Prioritas Program Pemerintahan Prabowo-Ghibran. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi survei awal, pre test, pengukuran tinggi dan berat badan, penghitungan status gizi anak, pemutaran video cara cuci tangan yang baik, simulasi cuci tangan yang baik, dan evaluasi post test. Luaran dari kegiatan ini mencakup publikasi pada media social Poltekbang Palembang, Laporan hasil PkM, serta publikasi pada jurnal PkM. Diharapkan melalui kegiatan ini, masyarakat dapat memberikan manfaat dan wawasan pengetahuan baik bagi tim pelaksana maupun masyarakat pada umumnya khususnya untuk populasi anak usia dini di wilayah kerja Poltekbang Palembang.

Abstract

Airports heavily rely on stable electricity, with transformers as essential components for converting electrical voltage. High temperatures in transformers can cause degradation of the cooling oil, insulation damage, and a reduction in the transformer's lifespan that coul be degrade aviation safety standard. The incident on the transformer at SS2 Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in Palembang due to overheating caused a significant impact on airport operations. This research aims to develop microcontroller technology to identify and predict potential issues in critical electrical components, particularly transformers, before failures occur and conduct the system testing. This effort is relevant to a safety strategy based on predictive maintenance to prevent accidents. This research using the fourth stage of the Maxim’s model of R&D method includes planning, development, and testing under conditions that resemble real-life situations. The research began by identifying needs through interviews and observations, which indicated the necessity of monitoring transformer temperature with early notifications and automatic exhaust fan control. The test results show that the system functions well in detecting temperature, activating the exhaust fan when the temperature reaches the threshold, and sending alarm notifications through the Blynk application. Suitability aspect testing indicate that the prototype received a positive response regarding functionality with an average score of 2.67, which falls into the valid feasibility category. It is expected to significantly contribute to developing microcontroller technology in safety, provide databased for predictive maintenance and offer practical solutions for improving the reliability and operational efficiency of electrical distribution systems at airports.
