Abstract

Soft-shell crabs are a type of crab harvested after molting or shedding their old shells. Soft-shell crabs are known for their high market value, both in domestic and international markets. Technological advancements in crab farming include the mangrove crab mutilation system to produce soft-shell crabs (soka). However, many communities still lack an understanding of this technology. The mutilation technology is known to provide benefits, so we conducted a community outreach program to impart knowledge about the molting process in crabs and provide training on how to mutilate crabs in Kamal Village. Additionally, in the crab farming process, there are issues related to water quality management and feeding. The outreach program also aims to provide solutions to these problems. The method employed is the Adult Learning Approach, which is carried out through participatory lectures and interactive discussions. Meanwhile, the crab mutilation training is conducted using the Demonstration and Example Method, where participants practice the crab mutilation process after receiving demonstrations from the facilitators. The molting process and the sustainability of the outreach program are continued with ongoing mentoring until desired outcomes are achieved.

Abstract

Desa Pagagan adalah salah satu pusat penangkapan rajungan di Kabupaten Pamekasan. Penangkapan berlebihan dapat membahayakan kelestarian rajungan. sehingga untuk melestarikan rajungan di suatu populasi maka dibutuhkan informasi mengenai kondisi biologi rajungan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengkaji kondisi stok sumberdaya rajungan, berdasarkan analisis hasil morfometrik yang meliputi distribusi lebar dan berat rajungan, pola pertumbuhan, rasio jenis kelamin dan tingkat kematangan gonad rajungan hasil tangkapan nelayan. Penelitian dilakukan bulan April sampai Mei 2022 di lokasi pendaratan (pengepul). Sampel rajungan diambil secara acak. Hasil dari penelitian mengumpulkan sample sebanyak 455 ekor rajungan (jantan 154 ekor dan betina 301 ekor). Kisaran ukuran lebar karapas adalah 80-165 mm dan kisaran berat badan yaitu 63-278 gr. Hasil analisis hubungan lebar karapas dengan berat badan pada rajungan jantan adalah 2,69, sehingga pola pertumbuhannya disebut allometrik negatif karena nilai b<3. Sedangkan pola pertumbuhan pada rajungan betina adalah 2,95. Setelah dilakukan uji t (α:0,05) menunjukkan hasil nilai thitung lebih kecil dari ttabel (tidak berbeda nyata) atau bersifat isometric dimana pertambahan lebar dan berat rajungan seimbang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rasio jenis kelamin rajungan jantan dan betina adalah 1:2. Rajungan betina yang tertangkap sebagian besar berada pada TKG 2 (mature) 259 ekor (86%). Hasil pengamatan terhadap telur rajungan di perairan Desa Pagagan Kecamatan Pademawu Kabupaten Pamekasan, ditemukan empat level komposisi warna telur yaitu warna kuning, orange, coklat dan abu kehitaman.

Abstract

The extensive use of estuaries makes them vulnerable to being used as dumping sites for waste from human activities. Continuous accumulation of rubbish in estuaries can cause water pollution and decrease water quality. Pangeranan Waters is one of the estuari waters in Bangkalan Regency, East Java which is widely used by the community. Therefore, the aim of this research is to determine the water quality of the Pangeran Bangkalan Madura River estuari using two different methods. This research was conducted in November 2024 by collecting in-situ and ex-situ data at low and high tide. The results of water quality measurements are then analyzed to determine its status using two methods, namely Pollution Index and Storet. From this analysis, the water quality status was Pollution Index obtained as follows: at low tide, it shows a moderate level of pollution, while at high tide and highest tide, the status shows heavy pollution. The results of analysis using the Storet method show that the average physical parameter skorat stations 1 to 5 is -9, which is in the lightly polluted category. Meanwhile, for chemical parameters, the average skorobtained was -60, which is classified as heavily polluted.

Abstract

Ikan kembung merupakan salah satu jenis hasil tangkapan utama yang ditangkap menggunakan alat tangkap gill net di perairan Desa Padangdangan. Penurunan jumlah produksi ikan kembung di perairan Desa Padangdangan sejak tahun 2017 menjadi permasalahan yang harus ditangani. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji keberlanjutan pengelolaan sumberdaya ikan kembung yang ditangkap menggunakan alat tangkap gill net di perairan Desa Padangdangan berdasarkan aspek ekologi, ekonomi, teknologi, sosial, dan kelembagaan, mengetahui keberlanjutan multidimensi untuk pengelolaan sumberdaya ikan kembung di perairan Desa Padangdangan, dan memberikan rekomendasi strategi keberlanjutan terhadap pengelolaan sumberdaya ikan kembung di perairan Desa Padangdangan. Waktu penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 25-30 September 2023.  Metode Multi Dimensional Scaling (MDS) dengan analisa terhadap 5 dimensi (ekologi, ekonomi, teknologi, sosial, dan kelembagaan) yang digunakan untuk mengetahui status keberlanjutan pengelolaan perikanan. Data yang digunakan berupa data yang berasal dari berbagai sumber diantaranya data statistik perikanan PPP Pasongsongan dari tahun 2016-2023, studi-studi terdahulu, dan wawancara dengan responden kunci. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dimensi ekologi, ekonomi, dan teknologi berada pada status cukup berkelanjutan (skor >51), sedangkan untuk dimensi sosial dan kelembagaan berada pada status berkelanjutan (skor >76). Untuk meningkatkan status keberlanjutan pengelolaan sumberdaya ikan kembung di perairan Desa Padangdangan diperlukan rekomendasi terkait dengan penentuan jarak menuju fishing ground, mengadakan sosialisasi mengenai ukuran tangkapan ikan yang diperbolehkan, ukuran mata jaring, penggunaan gill net, penentuan waktu penangkapan, menentukan stok jenis ikan, mengurangi hasil tangkapan terbuang, serta menetapkan dan melaksanakan ketentuan kuota penangkapan ikan.

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan negara kepulauan terbesar di dunia karena memiliki pulau-pulau yang jumlahnya besar, pulau-pulau terdiri dari pulau besar dan kecil. Penyu merupakan salah satu hewan yang terancam punah dan salah satu hewan yang dilindungi keberadaanya. Pembangunan daerah pesisir yang berlebihan telah mengurangi habitat penyu untuk bersarang, penangkapan penyu untuk diambil telur, daging, kulit dan cangkangnya yang membuat populasi penyu terancam punah. Penyu lekang (Lepidochelys olivacea) merupakan hewan dalam kelas reptilia yang masa hidupnya hampir seluruhnya berada di lautan dan termasuk hewan ovipar dan pembuahan telur berlangsung didalam tubuh induk, penyu merupakan reptil yang hidup di laut serta mampu bermigrasi dalam jarak yang jauh. Konservasi merupakan Perlindungan, Pengawetan, Pelestarian, Penjagaan, dan Pemanfaatan, sedangkan ekowisata merupakan keterlibatan antara masyarakat dengan proses pelestarian dan dikaitkan dengan penambahan wawasan dan ilmu baru tentang konservasi. Kegiatan ini berlokasi di Pantai Cemara Pakis Banyuwangi. Pada penelitian ini penulis menggunakan metode pengamatan secara langsung dengan pengambilan data primer berupa observasi, partisipasi aktif, wawancara, dokumentasi dan data sekunder. Hasil penelitian bertujuan untuk memudahkan penulis dalam mengetahui pemeliharaan tukik penyu lekang, mengetahui parameter kualitas air pada bak kolam pemeliharaan tukik, pengambilan telur penyu lekang pada sarang alami dan sarang semi alami, pemberian pakan tukik dan proses pelepasan tukik penyu, edukasi pengunjung. Abstract

Mangrove areas need to be considered from the condition of distribution and density of mangrove forests for future mangrove forest management planning, especially on Madura Island, especially Martajasah mangrove ecotourism. The purpose of this study is to determine the type of mangrove, canopy cover, and mangrove health index. The method used in this study is observation, which is to know the general overview of the research to be carried out. The selection of the research location was determined by the stratified random sampling method. The canopy cover on the mangrove was measured using the Hemispherical Photography method using the front camera of the OPPO Reno 6 phone with a camera resolution of 8 megapixels with a 180° angle of view at the point of taking the photo. The results of this study found 7 types of mangroves, including Sonneratia alba, Sonneratia caseolaris, Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora mucronata, Avicennia alba, Avicennia marina, and Lumnitzera racemosa. The percentage of canopy cover obtained an average score of 63.44% or in the solid category. This indicates that the mangrove ecosystem found in Martajasah mangrove ecotourism is in a good category. The Mangrove Health Index in Martajasah Mangrove Ecotourism is included in normal (33-66%).

Abstract

Catfish is a suitable choice for cultivation because it is an economical and nutritious fish for growing children. Catfish are also easy to cultivate and grow fast. This research was conducted for 35 days with the aim to determine the effect of moringa leaf powder with different doses of 4 treatments on the growth and survival rate of catfish seeds. The treatment given was treatment K as a control without adding moringa leaf powder, treatment A with 90% pellets and 10% moringa leaf powder, treatment B with 85% pellets and 15% moringa leaf powder and the last treatment was treatment C with 80% pellets and 20% moringa leaf powder. This research also measured water quality during the research, with parameters measured namely temperature, Dissolve Oxygen (DO), Power of Hydrogen (pH), and ammonia. The results obtained stated that treatment C with addition of 80% pellets and 20% moringa leaf powder was the best results in all aspects, both growth  survival rate, feed convertion rasio and water quality, and fulfilled SNI (2014) regarding catfish.

Abstract

Mikroplastik merupakan partikel yang memiliki ukuran <5 mm. Sifat mikroplastik yang menempel pada semua molekul dapat mengkontaminasi biota perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi mikroplastik pada udang dan ikan di sungai Brantas. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration). Metode ini memiliki beberapa tahap yaitu sampling, identifikasi sampel, dan analisis data. Pengambilan  sampel diambil sebanyak 9 stasiun. Menurut metode NOAA (National Oceanic and atmospheric Administration), sampel perlu dilakukan pemberian H2O2 dengan kosentrasi 30 % dan FeSO4 dengan konsentrasi 0.05 M dan sampel diinkubasi selama 24 jam. Hasil yang diperoleh ditemukan sebanyak 5-15 partikel/ekor pada udang (Macrobrachium equides) dan pada ikan sebanyak 11-345 partikel/ekor. Peran masyarakat sangat penting dalam pengurangan penggunaan plastik sekali pakai yang menjadi penyebab utama adanya kontaminasi mikroplastik. Sebaiknya perlu adanya  pengolahan limbah dengan mengolahnya terlebih dahulu sebelum dibuang ke sungai, serta membuat regulasi penggunaan sampah plastik sekali pakai.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to integrate environmental conservation and coastal community economic empowerment through the implementation of a mangrove crab silvofishery system at Lembung Mangrove Ecotourism, Galis Subdistrict, Pamekasan Regency. The program is carried out in collaboration with Pokmaswas Bina Lestari as the main partner in managing the activities. The implementation methods include socializing the concept of silvofishery and participatory pond construction using local materials such as bamboo, gedek, and waring. Evaluations were conducted on the strength of the pond structure, the effectiveness of water circulation, and the increase in community understanding of conservation. The results of the activity showed increased participation of Pokmaswas Bina Lestari in ecotourism management and the formation of an environmentally friendly and economically productive mangrove crab farming model. This activity not only provided direct economic benefits to the community but also strengthened the ecological function of mangrove forests as a buffer for coastal ecosystems. This silvofishery model has the potential to be replicated in other coastal areas as an effort to develop sustainable conservation-based ecotourism.

Abstract

Blue swimming crab (Portunus Pelagicus) is a type of marine animal that has quite high economic value, so it is quite attractive to the surrounding community, especially the people in Sumenep Regency. The aim of this study was to find out the growth pattern of variations in carapace width and weight of blue swimming crab (Portunus Pelagicus) in the waters of the southern part of Sumenep Regency. This research was conducted in May 2023 in the village of Aengdake Sumenep. Retrieval of blue swimming crab data includes calculating the width of the carapace and the weight of the crab. The maximum width of the crab carapace is 16 cm while the maximum weight of the crab is 164 grams. From the calculation data for the width-weight relationship, it can be seen that the value of b is 0.74 where this value indicates that the growth pattern of blue swimming crab in the waters of Aengdake Village, Sumenep Regency with a sample of 100 crabs, shows a negative allometric growth pattern. So it is known that the growth in width is faster than the growth in weight.
