Abstract

Community involvement should be a major concern in the development of sports tourism because sustainability of tourism can be achieved through community participation. This study aims to analyze the level of community participation in the development of sports tourism and the factors that influence the level of community participation in the development of sports tourism in the Danau Sipin area of Jambi City. The populations in this study are the people who live around the Sipin Lake tourist area, Jambi City. The sample in this study is selected using the quota sampling method, which is a technique of selecting samples to determine samples from the population that have certain characteristics until the desired number (quota) is 100 people. Researchers used a questionnaire to collect research data. Data analysis in this study includes descriptive data analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study indicates that the level of community participation in the development of sports tourism is high. The results of this study also show that the economic impact, environmental impact, knowledge of the world of tourism, and entrepreneurial skills have a significant effect on community participation in the development of sports tourism, while social impacts and government support do not significantly affect community participation in the development of sports tourism. Simultaneously, the economic impact, social impact, environmental impact, knowledge of the world of tourism, government support, and entrepreneurial skills have a significant effect on the development of sports tourism. The Jambi City Government should increase the level of participation and knowledge of the community through socialization regarding the development of sports tourism in the Sipin Lake area and providing entrepreneurship skills training for the community around the area.

Abstract

This study aims to test the integration of self-efficacy into physical training digitally by increasing the physical activity of young women. Social Cognitive Theory (SCT), by integrating self-efficacy in training and rehabilitation programs, has been used to address health problems. With the help of social support, a person's physical activity can be predicted. This study is based on the low physical activity of young women during the COVID-19 pandemic, which can affect the quality of health and social development. This study is an experimental study using a randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The instrument used to collect the data is the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) for young and middle-aged adults (15–19) and then processed with independent t test analysis techniques. The results of the average scores of knowledge, attitudes, and levels of physical activity in the control group did not differ markedly before and after the intervention. Whereas in the experimental group, the difference before and after the intervention was significant (t count = 6.9159; t table 1.6848 and 2.022; t count > t table), and the average value of the aforementioned factors increased after the intervention. The results of this study revealed that the use of digital media in physical exercise with the integration of self-efficacy can increase the physical activity of young women, and digital media can be effective in improving health-based behaviors. Sociodemographic variables such as the level of motor skills appear to be significant predictors of self-efficacy for coping with sedentary behavior. Understanding self-efficacy predictors for coping with sedentary behavior can help physical education integrate the emotional dimensions of health into physical education interventions, identify groups based on level, customize messages, and prioritize resources in shaping pro-health behavior.

Abstract

Changes in learning methods cause a crucial decrease in physical education needs and time of involvement in physical activity, which can affect individual stress levels. The objective of this study was to find out the comparison of physical activity patterns and stress levels between blended versus conventional learning methods. This study used quasi-experimental with a posttest-only approach with a control group design. The total subjects were 160 sports students from Universitas Jambi, who were divided into two groups (Experiment and Control) with average age of 21.69 ± 1.33 years, weight of 55.74 ± 6.48 kg, height of 170.10 ± 5.51 cm, and BMI of 21.06 ± 2.77 kg/m2. The results showed that the blended learning group had a lower level of physical activity when compared to their respective conventional groups. Furthermore, the stress level in the blended learning group had a moderate stress while the conventional group had a low-stress. Thus, the research findings have answered the question that physical activity can affect an individual’s stress level, and conventional learning methods are still the best method compared to blended learning methods. This finding can be used as a reference, especially for educators, both lecturers and teachers in schools, to be able to take a spiritual approach and invite students to do activities they like, such as exercise and recreation, to trigger a sense of enthusiasm in students to continue to improve their fitness degree. Therefore, this will have an impact on mental health, which can affect student stress levels much lower.
