Abstract

With technological advances, digital-based learning resources are needed that can be studied by students independently. The results of the research can be used as a learning resource, one of which is in the form of a digital book. This study aims to determine the quality and feasibility of digital books compiled as learning resources. The type of research is research and development (R&D) which refers to the 4D development model (Define, Design, Development and Disseminate). Data collection techniques with instruments in the form of expert assessment questionnaires and response questionnaires. The research subjects consisted of material experts, media experts, biology teachers and 37 students of SMA N 1 Koba class XI. Product data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively to determine the quality and feasibility of the compiled digital book. The results of research and development (R&D) obtained a Digital Book product for high school students class XI bioprocess material. Product assessment by material experts 88.64% (very good), media experts 86.11% (very good), biology teacher experts 100% (very good). The results of the small-scale test of students were 94.29% (very good) and the large-scale test was 98% (very good). Results Based on this research, digital books are appropriate to be used as a learning resource for class XI cell bioprocess materials.

Abstract

This research aims to create a tool for assessing students' computational thinking (CT) skills in relation to biology concepts. The study followed a research and development approach, utilizing a modified 4D design model, with the dissemination phase excluded. Various data collection techniques were employed, including observations, literature reviews, documentation, surveys, interviews, and tests. The findings showed that the developed instrument was valid, having been evaluated by three experts. The material expert rated it at 95%, the assessment and evaluation expert at 88%, and the linguist at 90%. In terms of readability, the instrument scored 75%, indicating a "good" rating. The overall validity of the instrument was found to be 0.70, placing it in the high validity range, while its reliability score was 0.82, reflecting a very high level of dependability. The assessment of students' computational thinking skills in biology revealed that 25% of students scored in the low range, 28% in the medium range, and 57% in the high range. From these findings, it can be concluded that the CT test tool is both valid and appropriate for evaluating students' computational thinking skills.

Abstract

The “Rukun Tani” Melon Farmers Group in Baturono Village, Salam District, Magelang Regency possesses strong potential for developing melon cultivation. However, as a newly established group, they still face several challenges, particularly in organizational management and financial administration. This community service program aimed to enhance the managerial capacity of the farmers through targeted training and mentoring activities. The program was implemented from June to October 2025 through several stages, including: (1) preparation, which consisted of needs assessment and development of training materials; (2) interactive training sessions on organizational and financial management; (3) mentoring in the implementation of organizational structures and financial record-keeping; and (4) evaluation using pretest and posttest instruments. Data obtained from the evaluations were analyzed using quantitative descriptive methods to assess improvements in participants’ understanding, measured by the difference between pretest and posttest scores. The results showed that participants’ understanding of organizational management increased by 23.10%, while their understanding of financial management improved by 23.57%. These findings indicate that the training and mentoring activities significantly contributed to strengthening the managerial skills of the group members. Overall, the program proved effective in enhancing the institutional capacity of the Rukun Tani Melon Farmers Group and is expected to promote more professional and sustainable organizational management to support the development of melon cultivation in Baturono Village.
