Abstract

Occupational health and safety is a crucial aspect in the hospital environment. Even though there are regulations governing the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by nurses, compliance with its use is still a challenge. This research was conducted at Ananda Bekasi Hospital to understand the factors that influence nurses' compliance in using PPE. Quantitative methods with a cross-sectional approach were used with a sample of 60 nurses from inpatient rooms. Data was obtained through questionnaires, and statistical analysis was carried out using univariate, bivariate and multivariate tests. The results show a significant relationship between work experience, attitudes, knowledge, availability of PPE, supervision, and social support with the use of PPE. The dominant factors influencing the use of PPE are length of service, attitude and social support. The implication is that attention needs to be paid to education, training, better supervision, as well as a supportive culture and attitude to increase compliance with the use of PPE among nurses in hospitals.

Abstract

Neonatal stunting is a form of growth failure that begins in the womb, marked by birth length below the 10th percentile, reflecting maternal nutritional and health status during pregnancy. This study aimed to analyze the influence of prenatal risk factors on neonatal stunting at Dr. Soedarso General Hospital, Pontianak. Using an institution-based cross-sectional design with a quantitative approach, the study utilized secondary data from maternal and newborn medical records collected from June to September 2024. A total of 485 mother–infant pairs were selected using purposive sampling based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Independent variables included maternal age, height, anemia, hypertension during pregnancy, and parental education levels, while the dependent variable was neonatal stunting. Data were analyzed using Chi-square tests and logistic regression. The results showed a neonatal stunting prevalence of 23.9%, with maternal age under 20 years as the only significant risk factor (AOR = 2.54; p = 0.035). Other variables such as anemia, hypertension, maternal height, and parental education were not significantly associated with stunting. These findings indicate that teenage pregnancy is a critical factor in neonatal stunting prevention. Strengthening reproductive health education and antenatal care services for adolescent girls is essential to reduce the prevalence of stunting from the prenatal stage.

Abstract

Hospitals have the main responsibility in providing quality, effective, and efficient health services. The performance of the implementing nurse is an important indicator to ensure the quality of service and patient safety. The supervision of the head of the room as part of the managerial function includes planning, organizing, guidance, direction, supervision, evaluation, as well as recording and reporting, all of which are aimed at ensuring that nursing care is carried out according to standards. This study is focused on analyzing the influence of head of room supervision on the performance of implementing nurses in the inpatient room of Wira Husada Kisaran Hospital in 2025. The study used a quantitative approach with a cross sectional design. All 86 implementing nurses were sampled through the total sampling method. Data were collected with questionnaires on supervision and performance, then analyzed using univariate, bivariate with Chi-Square, and multivariate tests through multiple linear regression. The results showed that the functions of planning, supervision, evaluation, and recording and reporting had a significant effect on nurse performance (p<0.05). On the other hand, the organizing and directing functions did not have a significant effect, while guidance showed a negative direction. The most dominant variables were recording and reporting. Thus, it can be concluded that the supervision of the head of the room has a strategic role in improving nurse performance, so it is necessary to implement consistent, structured, and continuous supervision.

Abstract

Patient satisfaction is an important indicator in assessing the quality of hospital services, especially for National Health Insurance (JKN) participants. This study aims to analyze the influence of planning, organizing, implementing, and controlling management functions on the satisfaction of outpatients of BPJS participants at Cut Nyak Dhien Meulaboh Hospital. The approach used was quantitative with a cross sectional design, involving 100 respondents selected through accidental sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out using a closed questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was carried out using a double logistics regression test. The results showed that the four management functions had a significant influence on patient satisfaction (p < 0.05). Among these variables, service implementation was the most dominant factor with an odds ratio (OR) value of 445,949. This shows that the implementation of services that are procedural, fast, and communicative greatly determines the level of patient satisfaction. These findings underscore the importance of service management that is structured, patient-oriented, and supported by continuous evaluation and supervision. Therefore, strengthening the implementation and organizing function needs to be a priority in efforts to improve the quality of services in hospitals.

Abstract

The implementation of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) in Hamlet II, Kuala Tanjung Village, is still relatively low, where 62% of the community has not implemented PHBS properly, which has the potential to increase the risk of infectious diseases. This study aims to analyze the factors that affect the implementation of PHBS in the region. This type of research is quantitative with a cross sectional study design that will be carried out from October 2024 to August 2025. The research sample amounted to 84 respondents which were determined through random sampling techniques. Data analysis used logistic regression. Multivariate analysis showed that the variable of infrastructure facilities was the most dominant factor influencing the implementation of PHBS in Kuala Tanjung Dusun II Village. In conclusion, the implementation of PHBS is influenced by factors of knowledge, attitudes, infrastructure, and social support of the community. It is recommended that the village government and health workers improve the availability and quality of infrastructure facilities such as handwashing stations and healthy latrines, especially in areas that still lack basic facilities, in order to support clean and healthy living behaviors in a sustainable manner.
