Abstract

Pemahaman konsep matematis merupakan potensi penting yang perlu dikembangkan siswa agar mampu menguasai materi matematika secara bermakna. Penerapan model Game Based Learning yang dipadukan Quizwhizzer bisa menjadi salah satu strategi untuk mengembangkan kemampuan itu. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam memahami materi yang diperoleh selama pembelajaran menggunakan model Game Based Learning berbantuan Quizwhizzer  dan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan kuasi eksperimen dengan rancangan Nonequivalent Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. Sebanyak 66 siswa kelas VIII dilibatkan sebagai sampel penelitian yang ditentukan melalui teknik Cluster Random Sampling, masing-masing 33 orang pada kedua kelas. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran. Data dianalisis melalui perhitungan uji  , uji normalitas Shapiro Wilk, dan uji Mann Whitney U. Analisis menunjukkan bahwa kelas eksperimen mendapat kategori sedang dan kelas kontrol mendapat kategori rendah. Berdasarkan uji Mann Whitney diperoleh bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang signifikan antara kedua kelas. Berdasarkan hasil analisis deskriptif, peningkatan di kelas eksperimen tampak lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol.

Abstract

The effectiveness of the Jigsaw, Teams Games Tournament (TGT), and conventional learning models on students’ learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education at SMP Al-Kautsar Cimahi is the focus of this study. The selection of an appropriate learning model is an important factor in improving the quality of the learning process and students’ academic achievement. Jigsaw and TGT, as cooperative learning models, encourage active student participation through collaboration and group interaction, while the conventional model tends to be teacher-centered. The data analyzed consisted of students’ learning outcome scores obtained from classes implementing the three learning models. Data analysis was conducted through normality testing, homogeneity testing, and the Kruskal–Wallis test. The results of the normality test indicated that not all data groups were normally distributed, while the homogeneity test showed that the variances among the groups were homogeneous. Therefore, hypothesis testing was carried out using the Kruskal–Wallis test. The analysis revealed a significance value of 0.425 (> 0.05), indicating that there was no statistically significant difference in students’ learning outcomes among the Jigsaw, TGT, and conventional learning models. However, the mean rank values showed that the Jigsaw model achieved the highest average rank compared to the TGT and conventional models, indicating a tendency to produce better learning outcomes. These findings suggest that all three learning models can be effectively implemented in Islamic Religious Education classes according to the characteristics of the learning materials and students’ needs, with the Jigsaw model demonstrating relatively greater potential for improving learning outcomes.   ABSTRAK Efektivitas model pembelajaran Jigsaw, Teams Games Tournament (TGT), dan konvensional terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam di SMP Al-Kautsar Cimahi menjadi fokus kajian dalam artikel ini. Pemilihan model pembelajaran yang tepat merupakan salah satu faktor penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas proses pembelajaran dan hasil belajar peserta didik. Model Jigsaw dan TGT sebagai bagian dari pembelajaran kooperatif menawarkan keterlibatan aktif peserta didik melalui kerja sama kelompok, sedangkan model konvensional cenderung berpusat pada guru. Data yang dianalisis berupa hasil belajar peserta didik yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan ketiga model tersebut. Analisis data dilakukan melalui uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji Kruskal-Wallis. Hasil uji normalitas menunjukkan bahwa tidak seluruh kelompok data berdistribusi normal, sedangkan hasil uji homogenitas menunjukkan bahwa variansi data bersifat homogen. Oleh karena itu, pengujian hipotesis dilakukan menggunakan uji Kruskal-Wallis. Hasil analisis menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,425 (>0,05), yang berarti tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada hasil belajar peserta didik antara penggunaan model pembelajaran Jigsaw, TGT, dan konvensional. Meskipun demikian, nilai mean rank menunjukkan bahwa model Jigsaw memiliki peringkat rata-rata tertinggi dibandingkan model TGT dan konvensional, sehingga memiliki kecenderungan menghasilkan hasil belajar yang lebih baik. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa ketiga model pembelajaran dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam sesuai dengan karakteristik materi dan kebutuhan peserta didik, dengan model Jigsaw sebagai alternatif yang relatif lebih unggul dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar.

Abstract

The Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning process on the topics of Hajj, Zakat, and Waqf in grade X at SMA PU Al-Bayan Cendekia Cianjur faces challenges due to low student achievement caused by conventional teaching methods that lack active student engagement. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Jigsaw method in improving students’ PAI scores using a quantitative quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of two classes: an experimental group taught using the Jigsaw method and a control group using conventional methods. Data were analyzed using t-tests and n-gain tests to measure significant improvement in scores. The results indicate that the Jigsaw method significantly improves students’ scores on Hajj, Zakat, and Waqf materials, with average n-gain scores in the moderate to high category. This method also enhances student motivation and engagement in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of students at MAN Bandung Barat on the topic of Fungi through the implementation of the Direct Instruction learning model supported by PowerPoint media. The background of this research stems from the low level of students’ conceptual understanding of the material, indicating the need for a more structured and guided instructional approach. The research employed a quantitative method with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The subjects of the study were Grade X students enrolled in biology classes during the current semester. The research procedure included administering a pretest, conducting the learning intervention using the Direct Instruction model facilitated by PowerPoint, and administering a posttest to measure changes in learning outcomes. Data analysis consisted of descriptive statistics, a normality test using the Kolmogorov–Smirnov method, and the calculation of the N-Gain score to determine the effectiveness of the intervention. The results showed a significant increase in the average scores from the pretest to the posttest, indicating a positive improvement after the treatment was administered. The normality test results confirmed that the data were normally distributed (p > 0.05), allowing for appropriate subsequent analyses. The average N-Gain score fell into the moderately effective category, suggesting that the learning intervention meaningfully enhanced students’ understanding. Therefore, this study concludes that the application of the Direct Instruction model supported by PowerPoint is effective in improving students’ learning outcomes on the topic of Fungi. The findings further imply that structured instructional models combined with visual media can optimize students’ comprehension of biological concepts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas pembelajaran langsung (Direct Instruction) berbantuan media PowerPoint (PPT) kontekstual terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada materi suhu dan konversi suhu di kelas VII B SMP Kesatuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatn kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen semu dan desain one-group pretest-posttest. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 31 siswa yang diberikan pretest dan posttest untuk mengukur peningkatan hasil belajar. Data dianalisis mengguanakn statistik deskriptif, uji normalitas, dan paired sample t-test dengan bantuan SPSS 26. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai pretest sebesar 41,14 meningkat menjadi 88,52 pada posttest dengan nilai signifikansi 0.00 (< 0,0), artinya terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara hasil belajar sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran. Nilai rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0.81 menunjukkan kategori peningkatan tinggi. Hasil ini membuktikan bahwa pembelajaran langsung dengan media PowerPoint kontekstual efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, terutama karena visualisasi materi dan stimulus kontekstual mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep serta keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajara.

Abstract

This research endeavors to evaluate the efficacy of implementing the Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) model, augmented by a Deep Learning methodology, for the enhancement of critical thinking abilities and academic achievements in eighth-grade students at SMP Plus Al-Ittihad Cianjur, specifically concerning the human circulatory system. A quasi-experimental methodology, utilizing a one-group pretest-posttest framework, was adopted for this investigation. A cohort of 30 students was chosen via purposive sampling to constitute the study's sample. Data acquisition was performed utilizing pretest and posttest instruments, followed by analysis through descriptive statistical methods, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, and N-Gain analysis. The findings revealed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (Sig. 0.000 < 0.05). However, the average N-Gain score was 0.1311 or 13.11%, categorized as low and less effective. This indicates that although the IBL model with a Deep Learning approach has the potential to enhance critical thinking skills, its implementation has not yet been optimal. Contributing factors include students’ low readiness for active learning and teachers’ limited ability to facilitate reflective processes. Therefore, further teacher training and student engagement strategies are needed to maximize the effectiveness of this integrated approach in improving science learning quality in secondary education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on students’ learning outcomes in ecosystem material. The background of this research is based on the low learning outcomes of students due to teacher-centered and memorization-oriented learning methods. The PBL model was chosen because it emphasizes active student involvement in solving real-world problems, thereby enhancing conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills. This research employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 33 eleventh-grade students who participated in biology learning using the PBL model. The research instrument was a learning achievement test administered before (pretest) and after (posttest) the implementation of the PBL model. Data analysis was conducted using the Paired Sample t-Test with the aid of SPSS version 25. The results showed that the average student learning score increased from 60.42 before the implementation of PBL to 82.61 after it. The t-test results indicated a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, meaning there was a significant difference between learning outcomes before and after the treatment. The average N-Gain score of 56.36% indicated a moderate category, showing that the PBL model was effective in improving student learning outcomes.Thus, it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model has a positive and significant effect on improving students’ learning outcomes in ecosystem material. This model is effective as an alternative innovative learning strategy that encourages student activeness and conceptual understanding.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology makes it easier to access and share information. However, this also brings various problems, such as the spread of hoaxes, cyberbullying, and online gossip, which often involve teenage students. Therefore, cultivating a digital tabayyun attitude needs to be instilled through Islamic Religious Education (PAI) lessons. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method in improving the digital tabayyun attitude of seventh-grade students. The study uses a quantitative approach and an experimental method, employing a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Data were collected through a pre-test, implementation of PAI learning using the PBL method, and a post-test administered with a digital tabayyun attitude scale instrument. The results showed that the average digital tabayyun attitude score of students increased from 76.91 in the pre-test to 84.00 in the post-test. The paired sample t-test results showed a significance value of < 0.001, indicating a significant difference between the conditions before and after applying the PBL method. Meanwhile, the N-Gain test results had an average of 29.78%, which falls into the low category. These findings suggest that the Problem Based Learning method can have a positive and significant impact on improving students' digital tabayyun attitudes, even though the level of effectiveness is still considered low. Therefore, a more continuous implementation is needed so that the development of the digital tabayyun character can grow optimally.
