This study aims to determine the behavior in searching for user information in meeting the information needs of the UINSU Tuntungan library, to determine the behavior pattern in searching for user information in meeting information needs at the UINSU Tuntungan library, to find out the obstacles that occur in searching for user information in an effort to fulfill information needs of the UINSU Tuntungan library. This research uses the type of qualitative research that requires as much information and data as possible to achieve the research objectives. This type of research is a case study because this research is carried out in depth on an institution and with a narrow subject. As a case study, the data collected came from various library sources. This study resulted that in order to determine the behavior of the user before searching for information, the researcher conducted interviews with several informants who were considered to be able to provide information to the researcher. There are several stages that can be used by users in finding information in the library. In conducting information search there are 6 stages developed by Kuhlthau, namely initiation, selection, exploration, formulation, collection and presentation. In this study, library users were used as a source and the survey subjects were information seeking behavior at the UISU Medan Library lending and borrowing service, which also included the initiation, chaining, tracking, sorting, monitoring, selection and confirmation phases as well as the termination phases such as restrictions and occupancy factors. The purpose of this research is to find out how users search for information. The method used in this study is a qualitative method in which the collected data is compiled and analyzed. With this method, user behavior in the process of searching for information at the UISU Medan library loan service is described and analyzed. The results of the study show that the search for information in the UISU library is very flexible due to the different scope and research objectives and the information needs of each user of the UISU library. In the UISU library lending service, it is necessary to renew the user's ability to search for information, so that readers' views of various sources of information and information retrieval are better and more accurate. This study aims to determine the interests and abilities of UINSU students in finding information in the UINSU library, to determine the literacy level of UINSU students, to determine the level of ability of UINSU students to search for information in the UINSU library, to determine the motivating factors of UINSU students in seeking information at UINSU. UNISU library. This study uses a descriptive research type, which means a systematic, factual, and accurate description of the facts, characteristics and relationships between the phenomena being investigated. Research that uses descriptive type is research that is intended to describe, describe, or explain the state of the object being studied as it is about how to find out how the information literacy skills of UINSU students are in finding information. This research results that UINSU Library Science students have a high literacy level and of course this is reflected in the information literacy that has been applied in information retrieval. Behavior to monitor information is said to be someone's action to find information in certain ways because some people will have several ways to access information, including for students in SMK. Efforts made to obtain information can be done in two ways, namely by manual method or by digitizing. The method that can be carried out by researchers is a type of library research research method using previous information to increase the relevance of the titles that the authors have chosen. The results showed that the efforts to meet the information needs were carried out by SMK students in two ways, namely by using the internet and by visiting the library manually. This study aims to determine information search behavior by users in the service circulation of the University of North Sumatra Library. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data collection technique used in this research is observation. This study took the subject of the library users as informants and the object of research was information seeking behavior in the circulation of the University of North Sumatra Library. most of the visitors to the library are for the purpose of seeking information, only a small portion is for reading, thus giving rise to several possibilities for library visitors, such as; Some visitors come to the library for the purpose of information, reading and meditation. The information we get actually comes from a process of producing information. This is called information discovery theory, starting with: Initiation, formulation, exploration, formulation, collection, presentation. Advances in information technology also bring fundamental changes in meeting the information needs needed. One of these technologies is the internet, which is an unlimited source of information and can be accessed anytime and anywhere for 24 hours. While printed sources have limited access, namely the place and time and the novelty of the collection. This study aims to find out the information that students are looking for through internet services. The research method used is this research method is qualitative research. The results showed that most of the students taught themselves to search for information through the internet (64.29%), while the frequency of using the internet to search for information was often (70.83%) carried out by most of the students in the library, and in this study half of the respondents' answers stated that students only use the internet once (50%) in one visit to the library, and almost half of the respondents' answers stated that students use the internet during breaks (41.46%). The reason someone seeks and carries out the process of searching for informaltion can vary from one person to another. In general, students majoring in the Sociology of Relligion at the University of Indonesia seek informaltion in the library because to meet their information needs, namely in the form of assignments given by the leturer. The research method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive research approach. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the pattern of information-seeking behavior owned by each student of the Sociology of Religion UINSU is a starting, verifying, networking element, browsing, extracting, accessing, monitoring and managing information.Kelywords: analysis, behavior, information

This study aims to identify the information needs of users in the UISU library. This research is located at the Islamic University of North Sumatra (UISU) which is located on Jalan Sisingamangaraja, Teladan Barat, Medan Kota District, Medan City, North Sumatra. The method to be used in this research is a qualitative research method which is described descriptively. The technique used in collecting qualitative data is using direct observation techniques. The results of this study concluded that the collections contained in the Library of the Islamic University of North Sumatra (UISU) were insufficient, but each faculty had its own library. The Covid-19 pandemic has brought many changes. Change is so fast that several changes have occurred in human activities. One of them is in the aspect of the world of education. At a time when the Covid-19 pandemic was declared increasingly dangerous, lectures that should have been conducted face-to-face had to be moved remotely or online. This was also experienced by the library science class in 2019. The purpose of this study was to identify differences in student information seeking behavior in meeting information needs before and during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to describe information seeking behavior through online video media by students of the Faculty of Letters, University of North Sumatra and the information needs of students of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, University of North Sumatra with the Uses and Gratification Approach through online video media. This research uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive study type. The research data is in the form of analysis results regarding information seeking behavior through online video media and information needs with the Uses and Gratification approach through online video media. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires and interviews. Instruments used to collect data using questionnaires and structured interviews. Based on the research results, it is concluded as follows. First, students of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology are able to search for information through online video media with coherent stages, namely starting, chaining, browsing, monitoring, differentiating and extracting. Second, students are able to meet information needs with the Uses and Gratification approach starting from cognitive needs, affective needs, personal integration needs, social integration needs and escape needs.
