Abstract

Abstract

This study explores the relationship between teacher well-being, spirituality, and classroom management effectiveness in madrasah settings. Teacher well-being has become an increasingly significant issue in contemporary educational research, as it is closely associated with motivation, job satisfaction, and professional performance. In Islamic educational institutions, spirituality is deeply embedded in teachers’ daily practices and plays a vital role in shaping their resilience, emotional balance, and pedagogical approach. Using a quantitative correlational design, this research investigates how teachers’ psychological and spiritual dimensions influence their ability to establish effective classroom management. Data were collected from madrasah teachers across different regions through structured questionnaires and analyzed using statistical techniques to determine correlations and predictive factors. The findings indicate that higher levels of teacher well-being and spirituality significantly contribute to improved classroom management effectiveness, creating a more positive and conducive learning environment. This study highlights the importance of integrating spiritual values and well-being strategies in professional development programs for madrasah teachers, ultimately enhancing both instructional quality and student outcomes.

Abstract

Abstract

This study is entitled “The Use of Formal Language Variety in Narrative Writing of Students at SMP Negeri 1 Samudera” and was conducted in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The study aims to identify errors in the use of formal language variety in narrative texts written by eighth-grade students during the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The research was carried out at SMP Negeri 1 Samudera in April 2025. A qualitative descriptive method was employed in this study. The data source consisted of narrative texts written by eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Samudera in the 2024/2025 academic year. The most common errors found in students’ narrative writing were the use of informal words resulting from spelling deviations, particularly in the use of the preposition di-. These errors were predominantly committed by students of class 8.3. Students in class 8.4 also made similar errors, mainly due to the use of non-standard spellings. These mistakes occurred because students paid insufficient attention to, and in some cases underestimated, formal writing conventions. Informality caused by vowel and consonant omission or substitution occurred less frequently; however, errors involving consonant substitution were highly prevalent, especially in the word “poto” instead of “foto.” This phenomenon is attributed to students’ habitual pronunciation of “foto” as “poto,” which subsequently influenced their written production. The factors contributing to informal language use in students’ narrative writing include: (1) vowel substitution, (2) vowel omission, (3) consonant substitution, (4) consonant omission, and (5) spelling-related distinctions.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms and usage of terms of address within family interactions in the North Aceh community, as well as to identify the factors influencing their use. The research was conducted in Gampong Meunasah Meucat and several surrounding villages in North Aceh Regency. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The data were obtained from direct utterances of native speakers of the Acehnese language who understand and use kinship-based address systems in daily interactions. The findings reveal that the family address system in the North Aceh community can be categorized into two types, namely those based on lineage and marital relationships. Based on lineage, 31 forms of address were identified, such as Ama, Ayah, and Apak to refer to biological fathers. Based on marital relationships, 18 forms of address were identified, such as Temude and Abang to address the husband of an older sister. The use of these address terms is influenced by social and situational factors, including age, social status, level of familiarity, and cultural or regional background. This study concludes that the family address system in the North Aceh community is highly rich and complex, reflecting values of respect and kinship that are strongly upheld within the community. To preserve this linguistic tradition, awareness among younger generations is essential, along with support from the government and educational institutions through the integration of language-related materials into the curriculum and cultural preservation programs.
