Abstract

The research was based on low mathematical problem solving abilities of students in class VIIIB SMP IT Al Fityah Pekanbaru. The number of students who achieved the maximum score before action in each indicators were 56% - 60%, 0%, 64%, and 32% - 72%. The purpose of this research was to improve learning process and increase students’ mathematical problem solving abilities. The research was carried out in 2 cycles by applying a problem- based learning model in relation and function material that consist of planning, action, observation and reflection. The aim is to improve the learning process and increase students' mathematical problem solving abilities. The data collection techniques used are observation techniques and KPMM test techniques. The number of students who achieved the maximum score after cycle I and cycle II there are 72%-76% and 84%-92% in understanding problems, 44%-48% and 76%-92% in planning problem solving, 40%-80% and 48%-76% in implementing the completion plan, 28%-60% and 40%-72% in interpreting the results obtained. Based on the results, it can be concluded that thePBL model is a learning model that can be applied effectively in increasing students' KPMM.

Abstract

Pentingnya kemampuan penalaran matematis (KPM) tidak sejalan dengan prestasi KPM peserta didik yang tergolong rendah. KPM berkaitan dengan penciptaan solusi logis setelah melakukan analisis hubungan suatu masalah dengan gagasan-gagasan baru. Hal ini menunjukkan KPM dibutuhkan dimasa depan. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk memfasilitasi KPM peseta didik adalah dengan mengembangkan modul matematika berbasis pendekatan saintifik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan menghasilkan modul matematika pada materi pola bilangan berbasis pendekatan saintifik untuk memfasilitasi KPM yang valid dan praktis. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan yang terdiri dari define, design, dan develop. Subjek uji coba penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas SMP/MTs. Jenis data yang diperoleh adalah kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari saran validator dan peserta didik, sedangkan data kuantitatif berasal dari penilaian validator dan peserta didik. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi dan angket praktikalitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul matematika telah valid dengan rata-rata persentase . Implementasi modul matematika pada uji coba small group dan field test menunjukkan kepraktisan modul matematika dalam kategori sangat praktis dengan rata-rata persentase masing-masing adalah dan . Modul matematika materi pola bilangan berbasis pendekatan saintifik untuk memfasilitasi KPM telah terpenuhi syarat valid dan praktisnya.The importance of mathematical reasoning ability is not sync with student’s mathematical reasoning ability achievements which are still relatively low. Mathematical reasoning ability is related to the process of creating logical solutions after analyzing the relationship between a problem and new ideas. This shows that mathematical reasoning ability are needed in the future. This research aims to produce a valid and practical mathematics module on number pattern material using a scientific approach to facilitate mathematical reasoning abilities. This research uses 4D development model which includes define, design, and develop. The subject in this research were junior high school 8th grade students. Types of data in this research are qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative data was obtained from validator’s and student’s suggestions, while quantitative data is obtained from validator’s assessments and student’s assessments of the mathematics modules. The instruments used are validation and practicality questionnaire sheets. The result of this research show that the mathematics module is valid with an average percentage 94,55%. The implementation of mathematics module in small group trial and field test shows that practicality of the mathematics module being in a very practical categories with the average percentage are 92,06% and 90,60%. Therefore, the mathematics module on the number pattern material based on scientific approach to facilitate mathematical reasoning abilities accordant with the valid and practical requirements.

Abstract

Setiap guru berkewajiban  mengembangkan LKPD sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa untuk memahami konsep. Kenyataannya LKPD yang disusun guru belum dapat membuat peserta didik aktif, LKPD hanya memuat rangkuman, sekumpulan rumus,  latihan soal yang  masih kurang mengaitkan dengan kehidupan kontekstual. Budaya salah satu unsur kehidupan yang dapat diaplikasikan kedalam materi matematika.   Keterampilan guru dalam mendesain sebuah LKPD yang memasukkan unsur budaya diharapkan dapat menumbuhkembangkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis (KPMM) siswa.  Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk memperoleh LKPD berbasis PBL dalam konteks budaya melayu Riaunagar KPMM siswa SMP terfasilitasi dengan memenuhi kriteria valid dan praktis.  Penelitian ini mengimplementasikan model 4D dengan tahapan; define, design, develop, dan diseminate. Berdasarkan hasil validasi produk LKPD diperoleh rata-rata 96,42% sangat valid. Skor rerata small group test pada 9 siswa kelas IX SMP Babussalam diperoleh persentase kepraktisan 95,57%. Field test dilaksanakan pada 35 siswa kelas diperoleh persentase kepraktisan 85,51%   dengan kriteria sangat praktis.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an interactive learning media using Articulate Storyline 3 to facilitate students’ mathematical problem-solving skills in statistics at the high school level. The development process utilized the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The media was designed to guide students through the steps of problem-solving, including understanding the problem, planning the solution, executing the plan, and evaluating the solution.   The developed media was validated by experts and found to be highly valid. A small-scale and large-scale trial was conducted to assess the media's effectiveness. Results from the small-scale trial showed that the media was highly practical for students with varying abilities. The large-scale trial also indicated that the media was practical and effective in facilitating students' mathematical problem-solving skills.   In conclusion, the developed interactive learning media is a valuable tool to enhance students' mathematical problem-solving skills in statistics. It provides a structured and engaging learning experience is proven to be valid and practical that can help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a student worksheet on the Pythagorean Theorem utilizing the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach, designed to meet validity and practicality standards to enhance the mathematical connection abilities of 8th-grade students. The research adopted the 4D development model, which includes the stages of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. To ensure the validity of the student worksheet, three experts conducted a comprehensive validation process. Feasibility data were collected through trials involving 8th-grade students. The validation results indicated a score of 90.77%, categorized as "very valid." Small group trials yielded a practicality score of 89.98%, categorized as "very practical." Furthermore, large-scale trials demonstrated an average score of 89.29%, also categorized as "very practical." These findings highlight the effectiveness of the RME approach in facilitating students' mathematical connection abilities through the Pythagorean Theorem material. The developed student worksheet was proven to be valid, practical, and highly beneficial for supporting the development of mathematical connections among 8th-grade students.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the importance of fostering student independence in learning, particularly through the development of self-regulated learning, which does not emerge without external support. The aim of this study is to develop interactive learning media assisted by iSpring that meet the criteria of validity and practicality, in order to support students self-regulated learning and help eighth-grade junior high school/madrasah students understand the topic of flat-sided geometric solids. The development process follows the ADDIE model. The test subjects consisted of eighth-grade students at SMPN 20 Pekanbaru. Data were collected through interviews and questionnaires, using instruments such as expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and a self-regulated learning questionnaire. Validation results indicated that the media was classified as very valid with an average score of 3.76. In the small group trial, student responses yielded an average score of 0.92 (very practical), while the self-regulated learning score averaged 77.51% (good). In the large group trial, student responses had an average score of 0.81 (practical), and the self-regulated learning score was 79.61% (good). These results indicate that the developed learning media meets the criteria of being both valid and practical.

Abstract

This research addresses the low level of mathematical problem-solving ability among eighth-grade students of MTs PP Nurul Islam Kampung Baru, class VIII.1. The study aims to enhance the learning process and improve students' mathematical problem-solving skills through the application of the problem-based learning model. Conducted as Classroom Action Research, the study was carried out in two cycles, each comprising the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research involved 30 students from class VIII.1 as participants. Data collection was performed using observation and mathematical problem-solving tests. The findings revealed an improvement in students' problem-solving abilities, with average scores increasing from 26.5 in the initial test to 52.33 in the first cycle and 65.5 in the second cycle. These results demonstrate that implementing the problem-based learning model effectively enhances both the learning process and students' mathematical problem-solving skills at MTs PP Nurul Islam Kampung Baru.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a student worksheet based on the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model to facilitate students' mathematical creative thinking skills on the topic of systems of linear equations in two variables. The development process follows the 4-D model: define, design, develop, and disseminate. During the define phase, problems in current learning resources were identified through interviews and observations. The design phase involved the creation of a worksheet aligned with CPS syntax and learning objectives. In the develop phase, expert validations and student trials were conducted, resulting in a validity score of 91% and a practicality score of 92%, indicating the product is very valid and very practical. The final product was disseminated through seminars and school distribution. The results show that the CPS-based student worksheet is feasible and can serve as an effective learning resource to enhance students' mathematical creative thinking skills.

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah tingkat kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis (KPMM) peserta didik rendah, sedangkan KPMM penting dikuasai peserta didik dalam belajar matematika. Maka sebab itu, tujuan pelaksanaan penelitian ini adalah  menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel untuk memfasilitasi KPMM peserta didik kelas VIII SMP. Dalam uji coba penelitian melibatkan subjek dengan total 9 orang peserta didik SMPN 1 Gunung Sahilan kelas VIII A. Dalam pengumpulan data, instrumen yang dibutuhkan terbagi atas instrumen kevalidan dan instrumen kepraktisan dengan memanfaatkan teknik wawancara, observasi, uji kevalidan perangkat pembelajaran dan uji coba LKPD. Hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran tergolong sangat valid dengan rataan silabus yaitu 3,91; rataan RPP yaitu 3,89; dan rataan LKPD 3,70. Sementara itu, LKPD juga tergolong sangat praktis dalam uji coba kelompok kecil dengan rataan 3,84 dan dalam uji coba kelompok besar dengan rataan 3,73. Dengan demikian, LKPD yang dihasilkan sudah mencapai persyaratan valid dan praktis.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini berupa pembinaan guru pembimbing Olimpiade Sains Nasional (OSN) bidang Matematika di Sekolah Menengah se Kecamatan Siak. Pembinaan ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat kompetensi guru dalam memahami materi OSN Matematika yang lebih mendalam dan kompleks, serta mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran yang inovatif dan efektif dalam membimbing siswa. Program pembinaan mencakup pretest, penyajian materi, diskusi, dan latihan soal-soal olimpiade yang mencakup bidang Aljabar, Geometri, Teori bilangan dan Kombinatorik. Selain itu, pembinaan ini juga menekankan pada penguasaan teknik problem solving dan pengajaran berorientasi pada pemikiran kritis serta analisis matematis yang tinggi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa Pembinaan Guru Pembimbing OSN bidang Matematika SMA/MA Kecamatan Siak dapat memberdayakan guru bidang studi Matematika di Kecamatan Siak dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal Olimpiade, memotivasi guru pendamping dan pemangku kebijakan untuk mengikutsertakan siswa dalam ajang OSN bidang Matematika, baik yang dilaksanakan oleh pemerintah maupun pihak lainnya. Melalui pembinaan yang berkelanjutan, guru pembimbing dapat lebih siap dalam mendukung siswa untuk bersaing secara kompetitif dan inovatif di bidang Matematika.
