Abstract

The poems by Helvy Tiana Rosa are a representation that has the characteristics of modern poetry that is full of emotional, symbolic, and struggle content. This study aims to describe the form of expression of inner feelings in the poems by Helvy Tiana Rosa, especially through an analysis of the poems "Razan, For Palestine From Your Brother Indonesia, and Did News Reach You About Mahananzi?". This goal is achieved by examining in depth the aspects of diction, style, structure, and themes that build the poet's inner expression. The method used is qualitative-descriptive analysis with a structural approach. Through the analysis of the poem "Razan, For Palestine from Your Brother Indonesia, and Did You Get News About Mahananzi?", the results of the study show that Helvy Tiana Rosa carries themes such as resistance to injustice, and human tragedy in Palestine. The characteristics of her poems lie in the use of symbolic diction, distinctive language styles such as (Hyperbole, Personification, and Sarcasm), and unconventional typographic structures. This style supports the creation of an atmosphere of Resistance, Criticism, and full of inner tension which is the core of the poet's expression. In Razan's poem, Razan's expression appears in a form full of sadness towards medical volunteers who are fighting for the healing of Palestine. In For Palestine from Your Brother Indonesia, it describes the concern and support of the Indonesian people for the struggle of the Palestinian people against Israel. Did You Get News About Mahananzi? Describes the pain of the Palestinian people, more precisely the children and mothers who were killed by Israeli soldiers. These three poems show that Helvy Tiana Rosa not only criticizes with the form of poetry, but also manages to convey deep existential and emotional experiences. Her poems invite readers to feel, care, and understand feelings.   Puisi-puisi karya Helvy Tiana Rosa merupakan representasi yang memiliki ciri khas dari puisi modern yang memenuhi sarat dengan muatan emosional, simbolik, dan perjuangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk ekspresi perasaan batin dalam puisi- puisi karya Helvy Tiana Rosa, khususnya melalui analisis terhadap puisi “Razan, Untuk Palestina Dari Saudaramu Indonesia, dan Apakah Sampai Padamu Berita Tentang Mahananzi?”. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis kualitatif-deskriptif dengan pendekatan struktural. Melalui analisis terhadap puisi “Razan, Untuk Palestina dari Saudaramu Indonesia, dan Apakah Sampai Padamu Berita Tentang Mahananzi?” Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Helvy Tiana Rosa mengusung tema seperti perlawanan terhadap ketidakadilan, dan tragedi kemanusiaan di Palestina. Ciri khas puisi-puisinya terletak pada penggunaan diksi simbolik, gaya bahasa yang khas seperti (Hiperbola, Personifikasi, dan Sarkasme), dan struktur tipografi yang tidak konvensional. Gaya tersebut mendukung penciptaan suasana Perlawanan, Kritik, dan penuh ketegangan batin yang menjadi inti dari ekspresi penyair. Dalam puisi Razan, ekspresi Razan tampil dalam bentuk yang penuh kesedihan terhadap relawan medis yang berjuang pada kesembuhan Palestina. Pada Untuk Palestina Dari Saudaramu Indonesia, menggambarkan kepedulian dan dukungan rakyat Indonesia terhadap perjuangan rakyat Palestina melawan Israel. Apakah Sampai Padamu Berita Tentang Mahananzi? Menggambarkan tentang kepedihan rakyat Palestina, lebih tepatnya pada anak dan ibu yang dibunuh oleh tantara Israel. Ketiga puisi ini memperlihatkan bahwa Helvy Tiana Rosa tidak hanya mengkritik dengan bentuk puisi, tetapi juga berhasil menyampaikan pengalaman eksistensial dan emosional yang mendalam. Puisi-puisinya mengajak pembaca untuk merasakan, peduli, dan memahami perasaan peristiwa yang sedan dialami oleh rakyat Palestina.

Abstract

This analysis discusses the short story "Gang Buntu" in the book "Sekeping Hati" by Erisca Febriani and Firrrr using Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic approach. Literary works, especially short stories, are considered as the author's expression to convey experiences and ideas through language. Semiotics, as an analytical tool, helps unravel the signs and symbols in short stories, facilitating a deeper understanding of the author's intended meaning. The short story "Gang Buntu" describes the story of sadness in a settlement, and semiotic analysis reveals various signifiers and signs that contain deep meaning. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, focusing on the technique of reading and understanding short stories and applying Saussure's semiotic theory. The results of the analysis identify signifiers and signs related to the expression of emotions, atmosphere, and changes in time in the story. The meaning implications of these signifiers and signs support the overall understanding of the short story. This study contributes to further understanding of the use of semiotics in analyzing short stories and detailing important elements in literary works   Analisis ini membahas cerpen "Gang Buntu" dalam buku "Sekeping Hati" karya Erisca Febriani dan Firrrr dengan pendekatan semiotika Ferdinand de Saussure. Karya sastra, khususnya cerpen, merupakan ekspresi pengarang untuk menyampaikan pengalaman dan ide melalui bahasa. Semiotika, sebagai alat analisis, membantu mengurai tanda dan simbol dalam cerpen, memberikan pemahaman mendalam terhadap makna yang dimaksudkan oleh pengarang. Cerpen "Gang Buntu" menggambarkan kisah kesedihan, dan analisis semiotika mengungkapkan berbagai penanda dan petanda yang mengandung makna mendalam. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan fokus pada teknik membaca dan memahami cerpen serta menerapkan teori semiotika Saussure. Hasil analisis mengidentifikasi penanda dan petanda yang berkaitan dengan ekspresi emosi, suasana, dan perubahan waktu dalam cerita. Implikasi makna dari penanda dan petanda ini mendukung pemahaman keseluruhan cerpen. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pada pemahaman lebih lanjut tentang penggunaan semiotika dalam menganalisis cerpen dan merinci elemen-elemen penting dalam karya sastra.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the physiological demands on esports athletes when competing. To achieve The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of circuit training on the archery accuracy of SELABORA Archery FIKK UNY athletes. The type of research used in this study is experimental. The research design used in this study is a “one group pretest-posttest design”. The subjects in this study are 11 SELABORA Archery FIKK UNY athletes. Data collection was carried out through archery accuracy tests before and after the training treatment. Data analysis techniques used a t-test with a significance level of 5%. Based on the results of the t-test, the calculated t-value was greater than the table t-value, indicating that the hypothesis was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that circuit training has an effect on the archery accuracy of SELABORA Archery FIK UNY athletes. Based on the results of the previous research and discussion, it can be concluded that the data analysis of archery accuracy above obtained a t-value (7.807) > t-table (2.28). Thus, it can be concluded that circuit training has an effect on the archery accuracy of SELABORA Archery FIKK UNY athletes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the success rate of smash techniques and dominant footwork patterns in the men's singles semifinals and finals of the 2021 Toyota Thailand Open. The study used a quantitative descriptive method with four male singles athletes who competed in the semifinals and finals as subjects. Data collection was conducted through observation using a smash technique and footwork analysis instrument sheet, while data analysis used descriptive statistics in the form of percentages. The results showed that the success rate of smash techniques in the semifinals and finals was very high. Full smashes, cut smashes, whip smashes, and circular smashes had a success rate of over 90%, while backhand smashes were rarely used in the finals. In addition, the most dominant footwork pattern was movement to the left rear, both in the semifinals and finals. These findings indicate that the effectiveness of smashes and the dominance of certain footwork patterns play a significant role in athletes' performance at the world level. The research results are expected to serve as evaluation material and a reference for coaches and athletes in developing training programs that are more aligned with the actual needs of competition.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the talents and potential of basketball athletes aged 11–15 years who are members of the Tanaka Basketball Club in North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province. The study used a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The research subjects consisted of 35 athletes, comprising 20 male athletes and 15 female athletes. The instrument used was the Sport Search talent identification test, which included measurements of biomotor abilities such as coordination, strength, explosive power, agility, speed, and endurance. Data analysis was performed using percentage techniques to group the athletes' talent levels. The results showed that of the 35 athletes, 3% were in the highly potential category, 28% in the potential category, 32% in the moderately potential category, 34% in the less potential category, and 3% in the not potential category. These findings indicate that most athletes fall into the moderately potential and less potential categories, thus requiring further targeted training according to the athletes' talent profiles. The Sport Search method has been proven to be a useful initial tool in guiding early-age basketball talent.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' motivation in choosing the Special Sports Class (KKO) for soccer, the factors that influence it, and the differences in student motivation between State Senior High School 4 Yogyakarta and State Senior High School 1 Sewon Bantul in the 2022/2023 academic year. The research used a quantitative descriptive method with a survey approach. The research sample consisted of 60 soccer KKO students, comprising 30 students from SMA Negeri 4 Yogyakarta and 30 students from SMA Negeri 1 Sewon Bantul, selected using purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire covering intrinsic and extrinsic factors, which had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis used descriptive statistics and difference tests (t-tests). The results showed that student motivation for choosing soccer KKO at SMA Negeri 4 Yogyakarta was in the moderate category, while at SMA Negeri 1 Sewon Bantul it was in the very high category. The motivation of students at SMA Negeri 4 Yogyakarta was more dominantly influenced by extrinsic factors, while the motivation of students at SMA Negeri 1 Sewon Bantul was more influenced by intrinsic factors. The difference test results showed that there was a significant difference in motivation between the two schools with a significance value of 0.000.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in the physical condition of male and female volleyball athletes between PBV Spirits and PBV Mutiara in Sleman Regency. The physical condition components assessed include coordination, arm power, leg power, agility, speed, flexibility, arm muscle strength, and VO₂Max endurance. The study used a comparative descriptive design with total sampling techniques on 153 athletes. The research instruments included tennis ball throw and catch tests, basketball throw tests, vertical jump tests, Illinois Agility Tests, 40-metre runs, sit and reach tests, pushup tests, and multistage fitness tests. Data analysis was performed using an independent sample t-test. The results showed that among male athletes, PBV Mutiara had better coordination, arm power, flexibility, and VO₂Max, while PBV Spirits had better speed. There were no differences in leg power, agility, and arm muscle strength. In female athletes, PBV Mutiara excelled in coordination and VO₂Max, while PBV Spirits excelled in speed and arm muscle strength. Arm power, leg power, agility, and flexibility did not show significant differences. The conclusion of this study shows that there are differences in certain physical conditions between clubs, which can be used as a basis for evaluating and planning volleyball training programmes.
