Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran tingkat kecakapan akademik siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika model kooperatif tipe reciprocal teaching. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII.5 SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya yang berjumlah 36 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan tes. Berdasarkan analisis data observasi menunjukan skor rata-rata kemampuan kecakapan akademik siswa adalah 85,26 dan tergolong dalam kategori tinggi. Adapun skor rata-rata hasil belajar siswa adalah 83,01 dan tergolong dalam kategori tinggi. Sehubungan dengan kesimpulan tersebut, hendaknya para guru matematika dapat menerapkan model reciprocal teaching dalam rangka melatih kecakapan akademik siswa.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.22342/jpm.11.1.4682.1-14

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan materi luas permukaan dan volum limas dengan pendekatan PMRI. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Palembang. Dalam mengembangkan materi terdapat proses evaluasi formatif dan uji coba terhadap materi, yaitu expert review, one-to-one evaluation, small group, dan field test. Dari tiga tahap pertama, materi dinyatakan valid. Kemudian materi diujicobakan di lapangan (field test). Dari hasil uji coba diperoleh simpulan yaitu menghasilkan buku siswa untuk materi luas permukaan dan volum limas yang sesuai dengan karakteristik PMRI. Dan buku siswa ini baik karena dilihat dari aktivitas siswa yang menunjukkan kategori aktif, hasil belajar siswa yang menunjukkan kategori baik, dan sikap siswa yang cenderung positif terhadap proses pembelajaran matematika menggunakan buku siswa yang sesuai dengan karakteristik PMRI.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop valid, practical, and effective learning using the GeoGebra-assisted Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) learning model using the Flipped Learning model to improve the mathematical representation abilities of junior high school students. This research is research and development (RD). This research has five stages: analyzing the developed product, developing the initial product, expert validation and revision, small-scale field trials and product revisions, and testing large-scale field and final products. Based on the results of several studies, including lesson plans and valid textbooks. From the limited test, the ten questions of the representation ability test were also valid and reliable. The lesson plans and textbooks developed are also practical in terms of teachers and students. Moreover, the average value of the mathematical representation in the experimental class is classified as effective in increasing students' mathematical representation ability. That way, the mathematics learning device characterized by GeoGebra assisted CTL using the Flipped Learning model can be said to be valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

This research belongs to description quantitative research which aimed to find out the description of students’ ability of the mathematical representation by using Van Hiele Theory based learning on rectangular material. The subjects of this research are 27 students of VIIA grades at SMP N 1 Indralaya Utara. The technique collecting data was done by using test method and observation. Test Instrument which is used is two essays. Observation is used to look at student learning activities based on Teori Van Hiele and for supporting the test result of students’ mathematical representation skill. The research result showed that students’ mathematical representation skill on VIIA grade of SMP N 1 Indralaya Utara is categorized well enough, with the following details: the precentage of students mathematical representation skill which is very nigh about 7,41%, for nigh category is about 55,56%, for medium category which is about 33,33% and for low category is about 3,7%. The precentage of students’ mathematical representatation which is able to present 0 level of Van Hiele Theory with visual representation about 100%, the percentage of students who are able to present 1 level of Van Hiele Theory with verbal representation about 74,07%, mean while 2 level with verbal representation and simbolic representation serially about 22,22% and 37,03%.

Abstract

This study aims to produce the student worksheet designs based on MEAs. In designing it uses the development of ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) models. This study only steps were taken to analyze and design. In the analysis phase, an assessment of basic competencies is carried out. Next, it composes indicators based on basic competencies. Beside that, researchers also study the MEAs approach. After the first step, proceed with compiling student worksheet.

Abstract

[Bahasa]: Kegiatan pengadian kepada masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk mendampingi guru dalam membuat bahan ajar matematika berbasis etnomatematika dan mengetahui respon peserta terhadap kegiatan tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah service learning yang terbagi menjadi dua kegiatan yaitu synchronous dan asynchronous. Anchronous terdiri atas penyampaian materi dan presentasi, sedangkan asynchronous berupa bimbingan pembuatan bahan ajar. Peserta yang mengikuti kegiatan PkM ini adalah sebanyak 408 guru matematika yang menghasilkan sebanyak 78 buah bahan ajar setelah revisi. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan lima kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh guru matematika dalam menuliskan bahan ajar berbasis etnomatematika antara lain: (1) bahan ajar yang dibuat tidak sesuai template yang ditentukan, (2) bahan ajar tidak memanfaatkan filosofi/nilai budaya, namun hanya melihat bentuk objek, (3) bahan ajar tidak didasarkan pada budaya tertentu, (4) materi dan langkah pembelajaran tidak sesuai dengan filosofi budaya yang diangkat, dan (5) kegiatan tidak dirancang dengan baik dan berpotensi plagiat. Respon peserta terhadap kegiatan dapat dikategorikan sangat baik (4,55), sedangkan pengetahuan peserta mengenai etnomatematika dan kesulitan yang mungkin dihadapi peserta dalam membuat dan menerapkan bahan ajar berbasis etnomatematika di kelas tergolong baik, dengan nilai rata-rata masing-masing 3,9. Hal yang masih perlu diperhatikan oleh guru matematika adalah meluangkan lebih banyak waktu dalam mengeksplorasi nilai budaya sehingga filosofi dari budaya tersebut sesuai dengan konteks materi yang akan diajarkan. Guru juga perlu meningkatkan kemampuan dalam membuat dan menerapkan bahan ajar berbasis etnomatematika dalam proses pembelajaran matematika. Kata Kunci: etnomatematika, pembuatan bahan ajar, pengabdian kepada masyarakat, matematika [English]: This community service program (PkM) aims to assist teachers in designing ethnomatematics-based mathematics teaching materials and examine participants' responses to the program. The method used is service learning in the form of synchronous and asynchronous. The first included presentations and content discussions, while the latter was to guide the teachers design teaching materials. There were 408 mathematics teachers participated in this program which resulted in 78 revised teaching materials. There were five mistakes made by the mathematics teachers in designing the ethnomathematics-based teaching materials: (1) it did not comply the specified template, (2) it did not acknowledge cultural philosophies/values, but only refer to the shape of the object, (3) it did not adopt a specific culture, (4) the materials and learning steps were not in accordance with the cultural philosophy used, and (5) the activities were not well designed and have the potential for plagiarism. Participants’ responses to the program can be categorized as very good (4.55), while the participants' knowledge of ethnomatematics and the difficulties that participants may face in making and applying ethnomatics-based teaching materials in the classroom are classified as good, whereas each indicators has the average of 3.9. To the teachers need to spend more time exploring culture so that the philosophy of the culture is in accordance with the material to be taught. Also, the teachers should improve their ability to create ethnomathematical-based teaching materials and apply it in the instructional practices. Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pembelajaran operasi bilangan melalui permainan tepuk bergambar pada siswa tunagrahita ringan di YPAC Palembang. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII YPAC Palembang yang berjumlah 4 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah rekaman video dan observasi. Rekaman video dilakukan untuk mengamati kegiatan siswa selama proses pembelajaran dan membandingkannya dengan lembar observasi. Selama proses pembelajaran operasi bilangan melalui permainan tepuk bergambar, guru membantu siswa tunagrahita ringan menterjemahkan peristiwa penjumlahan berulang sebagai operasi perkalian. Sehingga, pada akhir pembelajaran, siswa bisa mengerjakan soal-soal yang diberikan.ABSTRACTThis qualitative descriptive research aims at describing the operation of number learning through picture clapping conducted to students with light mental retardation at Institute for physically and mentally handicapped children in Palembang. This study involves four students at the eighth grade as the subjects. Video recording and observation are undertaken to collect the data. The students' learning process will be recorded in video and later compared to the results of the observation. During the learning process using the selected strategy, teachers' role is as the facilitator to help the pupils translating the repeated adding question to be the multiplying operation. Thus, in the end of the class, students are able to do the exercises given.

Abstract

The development of the PISA framework from year to year is increasingly focused on problem solving. This indicates that problem-solving ability is crucial. Considerable studies at the international level on the influence of PISA implies that the world also indirectly focuses on problem-solving abilities. The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) mentions five basic mathematical skills, one of which is problem solving. Mathematical modeling is one of the stages of mathematical problem solving. For that, mathematical modeling problems are chosen so that student can train problem solving ability. This study aims to describe problem solving ability of junior high school students in solving mathematical modeling problems. The result of mathematics problem solving test in grade VII students at SMP Negeri 1 Palembang has three categories, that is students with problem solving ability of mathematical well, enough, and less. The lowest occurrence of the problem solving indicator is the first indicator that is to explore and understand mathematics problems.

Abstract

This research is descriptive research that aims to describe the ability to construct a mathematical model of students with model-eliciting activities (MEAs) approach in Palembang State Middle School 3. The subjects in this study were students of class VII.8 Palembang State Middle School 3 which numbered 31 people. This study uses data collection techniques in the form of tests, namely problem-solving questions with the competence to construct mathematical models, and interviews to obtain additional data. Based on the results of student tests, it is known that the percentage of the ability to construct mathematical models of students is not evenly distributed in each category, It can be said that the ability of students to construct mathematical models are good enough after using MEAs approach. Abstrak Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan mengkonstruksi model matematika siswa dengan pendekatan model eliciting Activities(MEAs) di SMP Negeri 3 Palembang. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII.8 SMP Negeri 3 Palembang yang berjumlah 31 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes yaitu lembar soal-soal pemecahan masalah dengan kompetensi mengkonstruksi model matematika, dan wawancara untuk memperoleh data tambahan. Berdasarkan hasil tes siswa, diketahui bahwa persentase kemampuan mengkonstruksi model matematika siswa tidak merata pada setiap kategorinya. secara keseluruhan rata-rata kemampuan siswa dalam mengkonstruksi model matematika sudah cukup baik setelah menggunakan pendekatan MEAs. Abstract

The learning process that is carried out optimally is a learning process that involves students actively. One of the learning approaches that can actively involve students is the contextual approach or Contextual Teaching & Learning (CTL). This qualitative research aims to determine students' activities during the implementation of CTL principles with GeoGebra assisted in a cartesius coordinate system at SMP Negeri 9 Palembang. The subjects were four students of VIII.3 SMP Negeri 9 Palembang. Data was collected online using observation sheets, questionnaires, interviews, & analyzed descriptively. From this research, it is concluded that the principles of CTL that appear in GeoGebra-assisted mathematics learning were constructivism, inquiry, modeling, authentic assessment, & learning community. Then the CTL principles that rarely appear during learning were questioning, & reflection.
