Abstract

Background: Obesity is a nutritional issue with an escalating prevalence. Riskesdas 2018 indicates that the adult obesity rate has reached 21,8%. College students are in a transitional phase from adolescence to adulthood, which necessitates adaptation to the academic environment that often lead to the development of unhealthy lifestyles. This issue causes college students susceptible to obesity due to risk factors, such as eating patterns, eating behavior, physical activity, and stress. Objectives: Analyzing factors associated with the incidence of obesity among college students at Fakultas Ilmu Kesehatan Universitas Pembangunan Nasional (FIKES UPN) "Veteran" Jakarta. Methods: Observational analytic research with a cross-sectional design, conducted from February-April 2024, involving 232 respondents. Respondents were selected using the stratified random sampling. Data were obtained using questionnaires and anthropometric measurements then analyzed using the Chi-Square Test. Results: The statistical analysis indicate that the frequency of sweet food consumption has a p-value of 0.111, sweet beverages frequency (p-value=0.733), high-fat food frequency (p-value=0.036), sweet intake (p-value=1.000), high-fat intake (p-value=0.426), fiber intake (p-value=0.819), emotional eating (p-value=0.057), external eating (p-value=0.871), physical activity (p-value=0.271), and stress (p-value=1.000). Conclusions: The frequency of consuming high-fat foods has been significantly associated with obesity among college students. Consequently, students are recommended to be more mindful of the frequency of high-fat foods, such as fast food and fried food, to minimize factors contributing to obesity. In contrast, obesity is not associated with the frequency of sweet foods and beverages consumption, sweet intake, high-fat intake, fiber intake, emotional eating, external eating, physical activity, and stress.

Abstract

Background: The problem of overnutrition in adolescents (10-18 years) is currently quite high, >15%. Food intake is known to affect nutritional status. Consumption of diverse foods reduces the risk of overnutrition in adolescents. However, adolescents today more often consume poor food intake, such as foods high in sugar, fat, and sodium and low in fiber. It is common knowledge that they increase the risk of overnutrition. Objectives: To determine the relationship between the habit of dietary diversity, sugary food and beverages, and junk food consumption with overnutrition in adolescents. Methods: This study employed an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach, conducted at SMAN 6 Depok. Data analysis included univariate and bivariate analyses using the chi-square test with a 95% confidence level. The sample consisted of 112 respondents, calculated using Lemeshow's formula for the difference between two proportions and selected using stratified random sampling. Validity and reliability tests with a significance level of 0.05 have been carried out on the questionnaire before being distributed. Results: The validity test showed validity, and the reliability test showed a Cronbach Alpha value > r table (0.314). Bivariate analysis showed the adolescents did not experience overnutrition (80.4%), adolescents consumed a variety of foods (86.6%), rarely consumed sugary foods (80.4%) and sugary beverages (69.6%), and junk foods (70.5%) Conclusions: There is no significant relationship between dietary diversity, sugary food and beverages, junk food consumption, and overnutrition in adolescents.

Abstract

Background: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is characterized by difficulties in social interaction and communication. Children with ASD are at risk of being overweight due to selective eating patterns and parents' lack of nutritional knowledge, and they often experience diarrhea due to enzyme deficiencies. Objectives: This study aims to determine the differences in nutritional status, dietary patterns, and diarrhea history between children with ASD and children without ASD, as well as the differences in the nutritional knowledge of parents or caregivers of children with ASD and children without ASD. Methods: The research uses a case-control design with 102 samples (51 children with ASD and 51 children without ASD) obtained through cluster random sampling. Nutritional status data were collected from anthropometric measurements, dietary patterns through the SQ-FFQ, and parents' nutritional knowledge and children's diarrhea history through questionnaires. Data analysis utilized Independent Sample T-test or Mann Whitney tests. Results: Results showed significant differences in nutritional status (height-for-age, p-value=0.006), frequency of staple food consumption (p-value=0.018), animal protein (p-value=0.014), dairy products (p-value=0.001), amount of staple food consumption (p-value=0.016), dairy products (p-value=0.003), fat intake (p-value=0.037), fiber intake (p-value=0.033), frequency of diarrhea (p-value=0.042), and duration of diarrhea (p-value=0.042). However, there were no significant differences in BMI-for-age (p-value=0.410) and caregiver’s nutritional knowledge scores (p-value=0.855). Conclusions: It can be concluded that children with ASD and without ASD have differences in nutritional status, dietary patterns, and diarrhea history.

Abstract

Background: Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) require adequate and proper balanced nutrition to support their growth, development, and to prevent nutritional problems. One of the factors influencing nutritional problems is the lack of knowledge among caregivers. Nutrition education can be applied to improve the knowledge of caregivers of children with ASD about balanced nutrition. The use of educational media in the form of booklet and video are considered effective. However, the differences in effectiveness between the two media needs to be analyzed. Objectives: To determine the differences in the effectiveness of booklet and video media education on the balanced nutrition knowledge among caregivers of children with ASD in the Jabodetabek area. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a two-group pre-test post-test design. The sample was caregivers of children with ASD in Jabodetabek area who met inclusion and exclusion criteria, totalling 60 people each in the control and experimental group. The sampling technique was cluster sampling with a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using univariate analysis and bivariate analysis was conducted using Mann-Whitney test. Results: The Mann-Whitney test result showed that p-value 0.003 (p-value<0.05) indicating both booklet and video media were effective. The mean score in the video group was greater at 67.23, compared to the mean in the booklet group at 53.77. Conclusions: Nutritional education using video media is more effective in improving the balanced nutrition knowledge of caregivers of children with ASD compared to booklet.

Abstract

Adolescence who entered the lives of children and adults, starting from the age of 9 – 10 years and ended at the age of 18 years. Adolescence included vulnerable groups in terms of physical, psychological, social, and nutrition. The purpose of this research is to know the determinant associated with nutritional state in adolescents in SMP YPI Bintaro Jakarta. This study used cross sectional design. The sample of this study used the students of SMP YPI Bintaro who fill the criteria. To obtain data over nutrition, anthropometry measurement of height and weight, FFQ sheet for vegetable and fruit consumption, also questionnaire for knowledge, peers, physical activity. Univariable data analysis used frequency distribution, bivariable used Chi Square Test. The result of this study found that the prevalence of over nutrition adolescents in this study population is 5% and shows consumption (p = 0.039), knowledge (p = 0.046) and physical activity (p = 0.039). Schools should cooperate with health institutions to educate on balanced nutrition and health, especially about over nutrition. Keyword : Adolescents, over nutrition, knowledge

Abstract

Introduction: Labor is everyone who can do work to produce goods and services to meet their own needs and for society. Objective: Mencari's relationship between nutritional status, disease history, work motivation, and work discipline with productivity during the Covid-19 pandemic. Method: This type of research uses a cross-sectional research design. The population of this study was the entire non-lecturer workforce, and the sample in this study was 30 people. Results: Uji bivariate obtained a relationship between nutritional status (p= 0.03), work motivation (p = 0.04) with work productivity. Conclusion: A person with a normal nutritional status, good work motivation, and good work discipline can improve labor productivity. Companies are advised to pay attention to the nutritional status of work motivation and discipline.

Abstract

Background: Ibu-ibu Pemberdayaan dan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) Desa Sukajaya, Kecamatan Cilamaya Kulon, Kabupaten Karawang, Jawa Barat yang memiliki anggota istri nelayan, belum memahami pemasaran digital produk pangan mie dari limbah cangkang rajungan yang memiliki gizi tinggi. Padahal dengan pemasaran digital yang tepat, ibu-ibu PKK dapat meningkatkan pendapatan keluarga. Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan ibu-ibu PKK dalam menggunakan media sosial, website dan fitur e-commerce untuk memasarkan produk mie cangkang rajungan. Metode: Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan PKM ini meliputi pemaparan materi, simulasi IPTEK, dan pembuatan media pemasaran digital. Pesertanya merupakan ibu-ibu PKK yang juga istri para nelayan Desa Sukajaya berjumlah 18 orang. Untuk mengukur adanya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta, maka Tim PKM melakukan uji statistik nonparametrik Wilcoxon Signed Rank. Hasil: Hasilnya ditemukan bahwa nilai Z yang diperoleh sebesar -3,787 dengan p value (Asymp. Sig 2 tailed) sebesar 0,000 dimana kurang dari batas kritis 0,05 (5%). Hasil ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta setelah mengikuti kegiatan PKM tentang Komunikasi Pemasaran Digital dan Strategi Branding. Kesimpulan: Para peserta mampu membuat nama merek untuk produk olahan limbah cangkang rajungan dengan nama MICARUKA, logonya, kemasannya, websitenya, akun media sosialnya, hingga konten pemasaran MICARUKA di media sosial.

Abstract

Ubi ungu memiliki kandungan energi setara dengan tepung terigu sehingga dapat menjadi pengganti tepung terigu dalam pembuatan biskuit. Tepung kacang hijau dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan tambahan untuk meningkatkan nilai protein. Tepung daun kelor memiliki kandungan provitamin A dalam bentuk beta karoten yang tinggi sehingga ditambahkan ke dalam biskuit untuk meningkatkan nilai gizinya. Tujuan penelitian yaitu mengetahui formulasi biskuit balita sumber energi protein dan vitamin A dari tepung ubi ungu, kacang hijau, dan daun kelor. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan tiga perlakuan dan dua pengulangan pada formulasi dengan perbandingan tepung ubi ungu dan tepung terigu F1 80:20, F2 70:30, dan F3 60:40. Uji statistik yang digunakan adalah kruskall wallis untuk melihat adanya pengaruh formulasi biskuit terhadap uji hedonik (p0.05) dan jika ada dilanjutkan dengan uji beda nyata mann whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada uji hedonik warna, rasa dan tekstur memiliki perbedaan antar formulasi. Formulasi terpilih ditentukan berdasarkan metode bayes yaitu biskuit F3 yang selanjutnya dianalisis kimia dengan biskuit kontrol (F0) sebagai pembanding. Biskuit F3 memiliki kandungan gizi energi 482.28 kkal, protein 9.35 gr, lemak 23.11 gr, karbohidrat 59.35 gr, kadar air 3.75% dan kadar abu 2.7%, dan Vitamin A 513,3 mcg.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Pemeriksaan tekanan darah dan gula darah adalah langkah awal untuk mendeteksi hipertensi dan diabetes. Hipertensi dan Diabetes melitus (DM) khususnya tipe 2 adalah penyakit degeneratif yang angka kejadian dan komplikasinya semakin meningkat seiring berjalannya waktu. Studi ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan terkait pengukuran tekanan darah dan gula darah para kader kesehatan di kecamatan Sawangan kota Depok. Metode: Ceramah dan praktik. Hasil: Adanya peningkatan nilai dari 57,88 menjadi 77,27 pada materi pengukuran tekanan darah, dan perubahan nilai dari 58,79 menjadi 81,12 pada materi pengukuran gula darah. Kesimpulan: Pelatihan ini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat dan juga kader di Sawangan Kota Depok tentang pengukuran tekanan darah dan gula darah.

Abstract

Abstrak: Permasalahan gizi di Indonesia ada 3, (triple burden of malnutrition) diantaranya termasuk, gizi kurang (stunting dan wasting), gizi lebih (overweight dan obesitas) dan defisiensi zat gizi mikro yang mencakup anemia. Tujuan dari kegiatan STAR (Stunting dan Anemia Warrior) adalah sebagai upaya edukasi kepada remaja agar mereka paham tentang permasalahan gizi di Indonesia dan cara pencegahannya dengan sasaran utamanya, yaitu siswa dan siswi kelas 10 SMK An Nur sejumlah 101 orang. Bentuk Evaluasi yang dilakukan tim pengabdian adalah memberikan pertanyaan per test dan post test. Tujuan evaluasi ini mengukur pengetahuan siswa terkait stunting setelah diberikan penyuluhan dan edukasi gizi. Peningkatan pengetahuan siswa sebanyak lebih dari 10% terkait stunting dan anemia. Abstract: There are 3 nutritional problems in Indonesia, (triple burden of malnutrition) including, undernutrition (stunting and wasting), overnutrition (overweight and obesity) and micronutrient deficiencies including anemia. The purpose of the STAR (Stunting and Anemia Warrior) activity is as an educational effort for adolescents so that they understand the nutritional problems in Indonesia and how to prevent them with the main target, namely 101 male and female students of grade 10 of SMK An Nur. The form of evaluation carried out by the community service team is to provide questions per test and post-test. The purpose of this evaluation is to measure students' knowledge regarding stunting after being given nutritional counseling and education. The increase in student knowledge is more than 50% regarding stunting and anemia.
