Abstract

The action research in this classroom was undertaken as a result of the fourth-grade students in MIN 3 Banda Aceh struggling to grasp the concepts of multiplication and recalling what they have learned before, which impacted their learning performance. The purpose of the study was to enhance the learning outcome of students in multiplication using Jarimatika method with the help of replica media. It consisted of 40 students and was conducted in three cycles. Teacher and student activities and learning achievement tests were used as data collection methods in the form of observation sheets. The success indicators were teacher and student activity scores ≥80%, individual mastery, at least 75 and classical mastery, >85. The findings indicated improvement throughout the cycles. Teacher activity increased from 69.31% to 78.40% and 90.90%, student activity from 62.61% to 76.90% and 90.47%, and learning outcomes from 67.5% to 77.5% and 90%. Thus, Jarimatika method was found to be effective with the help of replica media, which enhanced the learning outcomes of students in multiplication. Abstract

Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) adalah bidang studi yang mengintegrasikan aspek ilmu alam dan ilmu sosial untuk memahami lingkungan sekitar dan fenomena kehidupan. Karena dalam konteks IPAS, pemahaman konsep menjadi aspek penting dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan pemecahan masalah. Namun berdasarkan hasil penelitian awal kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa tergolong rendah. Oleh karena itu kemampuan pemahaman konsep perlu diperbaiki, salah satunya dengan menggunakan media realia melalui model inkuiri terbimbing yang sangat relevan dalam pembelajaran IPAS. Model ini tidak hanya meningkatkan pemahaman konsep, tetapi juga melatih keterampilan berpikir kritis, pemecahan masalah, dan keterampilan observasi yang sangat berguna dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Metode yang digunakan ialah quasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest posttest control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SDN 7 Idi Aceh Timur dan yang menjadi sampel kelas IV-A dan Kelas IV-B. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tes kemampuan konsep. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media realia melalui model inkuiri terbimbing berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas IV SDN 7 Idi Aceh Timur.

Abstract

The implementation of differentiated instruction remains ineffective due to learning materials that are overly complex and fail to fully address students' diverse learning needs. This study aims to develop differentiated instructional materials for mathematics learning in elementary schools (SD/MI). The participants of this research consisted of six lecturers serving as expert validators (two material experts, two language experts, and two media experts), one mathematics teacher, and 26 fourth-grade students (Class IV-1) at MIN 8 Aceh Besar. This research utilized the 4-D development model consisting of four stages: defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. Data were collected through observation, expert validation forms, and practicality questionnaires. The data were analyzed using quantitative techniques to assess the feasibility and practicality of the developed instructional materials. The results indicated that the instructional materials were highly feasible. Validation scores were 92.5% from media experts, 89.53% from material experts, and 82.5% from language experts, all categorized as “very feasible.” Additionally, practicality scores were 95% from the teachers and 87.66% from the students, both were categorized as “very practical”. The developed instructional materials are capable of accommodating students' diverse learning styles and are equipped with a digital barcode to facilitate access. There fore these instructional materials are considered valid and practical for use in the learning process.

Abstract

This study focuses on the development of an ethnomathematics module incorporating Aceh culture for Grade IV students at SDN 58 Banda Aceh. The aim is to create a culturally relevant learning resource that improves students' understanding of mathematical concepts, particularly quadrilaterals. Using the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, the study included a needs analysis, expert validation, and practicality assessments. The needs analysis revealed that existing materials lacked contextual relevance for students. The module received positive feedback from experts, with media expert validation scoring 98.3% and content expert validation at 90.55%, both categorized as "very feasible." Practicality tests with teachers and students showed scores of 93% and 91.8%, respectively, indicating the module’s high practicality. The findings suggest that the Aceh culture-based ethnomathematics module is both feasible and practical for use in enhancing students' learning experiences

Abstract

Rendahnya pemahaman konsep pecahan pada siswa sekolah dasar disebabkan oleh pembelajaran yang masih abstrak dan minim media kontekstual. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan multimedia interaktif berbasis kearifan lokal Aceh pada pembelajaran matematika kelas IV. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan dengan model Alessi dan Trollip yang terdiri dari perencanaan, desain, dan pengembangan. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri atas tiga dosen sebagai validator ahli (media, materi, dan bahasa), satu guru, serta 21 siswa kelas IV MIN 19 Aceh Besar. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket. Data dianalisis dengan teknik statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa multimedia interaktif memperoleh tingkat kelayakan dengan persentase 95,4% (sangat layak) dari ahli media, 98,5% (sangat layak) dari ahli materi, dan 85,5% (sangat layak) dari ahli bahasa. Uji kepraktisan menunjukkan hasil dengan persentase 96% (sangat praktis) dari guru dan 91% (sangat praktis) dari siswa. Multimedia dinilai menarik, mudah digunakan, serta mampu mengintegrasikan konsep pecahan dengan konteks kearifan lokal Aceh secara bermakna. Integrasi visual, interaktivitas, dan unsur budaya lokal terbukti memperkuat keterlibatan dan pemahaman siswa. Dengan demikian, multimedia interaktif berbasis kearifan lokal Aceh dinyatakan valid dan praktis sehingga layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in elementary schools is often considered difficult due to its abstract nature and the limited availability of contextual teaching materials. This condition causes students to have low understanding, especially in plane geometry topics. This study aims to develop ethnomathematics-based teaching materials by integrating Acehnese local culture such as traditional houses, songket cloth, and Gayo carvings. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The subjects of this study were two media experts, two material experts, two language experts, two teachers, and 15 fourth-grade students of MIN 10 Aceh Besar. Data were collected through validation sheets and response questionnaires, then analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative techniques. The results showed that the developed teaching materials were categorized as very feasible based on expert validation, with percentages of 94.64% from media experts, 85.41% from material experts, and 79.54% from language experts. In addition, the practicality test showed very positive responses from teachers (97.22%) and students (97.33%). Therefore, ethnomathematics-based teaching materials are considered very feasible and practical to be used as supporting learning resources in elementary mathematics, particularly in plane geometry learning.
