Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of conceptual metaphors in a collection of Acehnese folk song lyrics using a cognitive semantic approach. Employing a qualitative method, the research focuses on cognitive semantic analysis to explore and understand the meanings embedded in Acehnese folk song lyrics with depth and precision. The sample collection involves selecting a diverse set of Acehnese folk song lyrics performed by Rafli Kande, including Aneuk Yatim, Wasiet Keu Aneuk, and Jasa Poma, which represent a variety of themes, genres, and time periods. The technique employed is text analysis, which examines song lyrics in depth to identify conceptual metaphors based on their types, such as ontological, structural, or orientational metaphors. The study identifies key metaphors in Acehnese folk songs, reflecting cultural values like familial bonds, social hierarchies, and spiritual beliefs. These metaphors illustrate the interconnectedness of nature and human life, emphasizing reverence for the environment and the cyclical nature of existence. Overall, Acehnese folk songs serve to preserve cultural heritage, reinforce collective identity, and provide moral guidance, showcasing their significance in Acehnese society.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of a TGT-based LKPD (Student Worksheet) integrated with Wordwall media for teaching observation report texts to enhance higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in 10th-grade students. Utilizing the Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model—Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate—the study systematically assessed the instructional material. The findings indicate that the developed LKPD was deemed highly feasible, receiving ratings of 82% and 87% from material experts and 84% and 86.89% from design experts. Field trials demonstrated a significant improvement in students' HOTS, achieving an effectiveness score of 83.60%. These results confirm that the integration of TGT-based learning with Wordwall media enhances student engagement and comprehension, making it an effective instructional tool for fostering critical thinking skills in language learning.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate audio-visual learning media for enhancing poetry writing skills using the Think-Talk-Write (TTW) strategy for grade X students. The research follows the Research and Development (R&D) method, utilizing the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) developed by Thiagarajan. Data were collected through questionnaires using a Likert scale for quantitative analysis, while qualitative data were obtained from expert evaluations, comments, and suggestions. The study involved four validators—two material experts and two media/design experts—to assess the feasibility of the developed media. The research was limited to the development stage, where material validators assigned an average validity score of 76%, categorized as "very feasible", while media/design validators provided an overall score of 72%, classified as "feasible". These findings confirm that the audio-visual learning media for poetry writing skills is valid, practical, and effective for use in school learning environments, making it a potential tool to enhance student engagement and creativity in poetry writing. Future research should explore the implementation stage and assess its impact on students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop e-books and assess their feasibility in teaching anecdote texts to tenth-grade students at SMK Madani Marindal I. The research population consisted of 65 students from the X TKJ class, with a sample of 35 students selected for the study. This research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the Borg and Gall model, which comprises seven stages: research and data collection, planning, product draft development, initial trials, field trials, refinement of the initial product, further field trials, and final product refinement. Data were collected through a questionnaire, employing observation, interviews, and survey techniques. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the improvement of learning materials through digital platforms, enhancing students’ engagement and comprehension of anecdote texts. The findings will also provide insights into the effectiveness of e-books as an alternative instructional medium in vocational high schools.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aimed to develop a Mini Dictionary of Literary Text Terms as a learning medium for Class XI students at Al-Washliyah 1 Senior High School Medan to improve their understanding of literary concepts and terminology. Methodology: This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method, following the Borg and Gall development model. Data collection involved observation and questionnaires. The study included 62 students from Class XI Science and Social Science streams, with a sample of 31 students from Class XI Science. Expert validation assessments were conducted by two material experts, two design experts, and a teacher. Main Findings: Validation results from Material Expert I (92%) and Material Expert II (77%) classified the dictionary as "Decent." Design Expert I (84%) rated it as "Decent," while Design Expert II (90%) categorized it as "Very Decent." The teacher’s evaluation resulted in a "Very Decent" (87%) rating. These findings indicate that the Mini Dictionary of Literary Text Terms is valid and suitable as a learning medium for Class XI students. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study introduces a specialized Mini Dictionary tailored for Class XI students, enhancing literary text learning through a structured and validated resource. The findings contribute to literacy development in Indonesian high schools by offering a pedagogically sound and validated learning tool that improves students' comprehension of literary terminology.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas tantangan nation and character building dalam konteks masyarakat majemuk, dengan fokus pada bagaimana identitas yang majemuk dikelola dalam pembentukan karakter bangsa. Dalam era globalisasi, setiap negara dihadapkan pada tantangan mempertahankan jati diri bangsa serta mengelola potensi konflik identitas yang muncul. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode kajian pustaka, penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana nasionalisme, identitas etnis, dan agama dapat dikelola agar tidak mengancam integrasi sosial. Berdasarkan analisis berbagai praktik di berbagai negara, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan identitas harus dilakukan secara proporsional dan inklusif agar dapat memperkuat kohesivitas sosial, serta mendukung pembangunan karakter nasional yang positif. Selain itu, pendidikan dan kebijakan memegang peran penting dalam menciptakan kohesi dan integrasi yang mendalam dalam masyarakat majemuk. Rekomendasi dari penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya kebijakan yang mendukung dialog antar kelompok etnis, agama sebagai cara untuk memperkuat nasionalisme yang sehat, mencegah disintegrasi, dan mencapai pembangunan bangsa yang lebih stabil dan harmonis.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melatih peserta didik menerapkan berpikir komputasi dalam pembelajaran fungsi matematika yang terintegrasi budaya (CRT) melalui model Problem Based Learning (PBL). Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan subjek penelitian yang terdiri dari peserta didik kelas XI-3 di SMA Negeri 5 Medan. Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah (PBL) yang terintegrasi dengan Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) diterapkan dalam beberapa sesi pembelajaran. Peserta didik diberikan masalah-masalah yang berhubungan dengan konteks budaya lokal, Data pada penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui lembar observasi aspek kemampuan berpikir komputasi, observasi, dan wawancara. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa pendekatan ini tidak hanya meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik tentang konsep fungsi matematika, tetapi juga meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir komputasi mereka. Materi yang disampaikan relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari sehingga peserta didik menjadi lebih termotivasi dan antusias dalam belajar. Selain itu, integrasi budaya dalam pembelajaran juga memperkuat identitas budaya peserta didik dan membuat mereka lebih menghargai warisan budaya Indonesia.

Abstract

This article discusses the transformation of multiculturalism in the technological age,focusing on the challenges and opportunities. Technology's ability to connect people from different cultural backgrounds extends the reach of multiculturalism, enabling the exchange of ideas, values, andexperiences. However, challenges suchas cultural appropriation and differing interpretations can threaten respect for cultural diversity. Unequal access to technology can lead to inequalities in cultural participation and digital literacy, widening the gap between social groups. To meet this challenge,efforts are needed to ensure equal access to technology and digital inclusion for all groups. However, the technological age also offers opportunities for multiculturalism. Digital technology can be a tool to promote constructive intercultural dialogue, increase knowledge of other cultures and builddeeper understanding. It is important to develop applications and platforms that strengthen fair and respectful cultural exchange. To meet the challenges and seize the opportunities, holistic policies and approaches are needed to develop multiculturalism in the technological age. Governments, civilsociety organizations and civil society must work together to promote digital inclusion, support digital and intercultural literacy, and develop regulations that encourage the responsible use of technology.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui validitas keefektifan bahan ajar berbasis leaflet dengan materi teks puisi di kelas XI Madrasah Aliyah Islamic Centre Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model Borg and Gall yang dibatasi hingga 6 (enam) tahap pengembangan. Total populasi berjumlah 83 peserta didik dengan sampel penelitian sebanyak 35 peserta didik. Data hasil penelitian diolah dengan teknik kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil validasi dari ahli materi I sebesar 90% (kategori “Sangat Efektif”), ahli materi II sebesar 78% (kategori “Efektif”), ahli media I sebesar 88% (kategori “Sangat Efektif”), dan ahli media II sebesar 80% (kategori “Efektif”). Penilaian dari guru bidang studi memperoleh hasil sebesar 94% (kategori “Sangat Efektif”). Uji coba secara perorangan pada 5 peserta didik mendapatkan hasil 99% (kategori “Sangat Efektif”), uji coba kelompok kecil dengan 10 peserta didik memperoleh hasil 97% (kategori “Sangat Efektif”), dan uji coba kelompok besar pada 35 peserta didik memperoleh hasil 95% (kategori “Sangat Efektif”). Dengan demikian, bahan ajar berbasis leaflet dapat dikembangkan dan terbukti berhasil mendorong peserta didik untuk aktif dalam proses pembelajaran serta membantu pencapaian tujuan pembelajaran dalam Kurikulum Merdeka.
