Abstract

Encouraging a healthy lifestyle is important for farmers, as it significantly influences their long-term well-being. Unfortunately, a considerable number of farmers engage in risky health practices, primarily due to their limited health literacy. This research delves into the intricate connection between health literacy and the adoption of a healthy lifestyle among farmers residing in Tenggarang Urban Village, Bondowoso Regency. Our study employed a cross-sectional design, encompassing a sample of 90 farmers chosen through cluster random sampling. To assess health literacy, we employed the Health Literacy Short-Form Survey Questionnaire (HLS-EU-SQ10-IDN), designed for use in Indonesia. Additionally, we measured the extent of a healthy lifestyle using the Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile II (HPLP-II). For statistical analysis, we utilized Kendall’s Tau-b correlation test, with a significance level set at α < 0.05. Our findings unveiled that an impressive 78.9% of respondents exhibited commendable health literacy levels, with 60% demonstrating a strong dedication to leading a healthy lifestyle. Crucially, we identified a statistically significant and positive correlation between health literacy and the adoption of a healthy lifestyle among farmers (p value = 0.000 and r = 0.393). To further enrich this area of study, future research could delve deeper into the factors that influence health literacy and the facilitators encouraging the adoption of healthy lifestyle practices among farmers. Consequently, stakeholders are encouraged to formulate educational strategies aimed at bolstering health literacy within the farming community, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing the adoption of healthy lifestyles to effectively enhance farmer well-being.

Abstract

Satisfaction is a feeling of pleasure or disappointment arising from comparing the perceived performance of results/products with their expectations, and patient dissatisfaction with antiretroviral (ARV) treatment services will harm people with HIV/AIDS. This study aims to determine the level of satisfaction and the factors that influence satisfaction in ARV treatment services. This study uses a literature review with DOAJ, PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Springer databases. In 13 articles analyzed, two findings discussed the level of satisfaction and factors influencing patient satisfaction. The level of satisfaction with ARV treatment services is relatively high; on average, all patients are delighted. Factors influencing patient satisfaction are divided into sociodemographic, individual, nurse or health worker, health service, and environmental factors. Every country or every health service has different services; the level of satisfaction with ARV treatment services also varies because several factors influence it; it is necessary to improve the quality of service by improving the planning of facilities and infrastructure, good time management, arrangement of resources, facilities and work environment. Provide guidance and training to health workers. HIV/AIDS patients need not be afraid to seek treatment and are more open to expressing complaints to nurses or health workers.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Lung cancer is one type of cancer with the highest mortality rate, this is often due to delays in diagnosis and the impact of prognosis which can affect the psychosocial adaptation of lung cancer patients. Analyze psychosocial adaptation problems in lung cancer patients, their impacts, and treatment strategies. Systematic review used the PRISMA protocol and JBI scoring tool to determine eligible articles. Five electronic databases were used (Pubmed; Science Direct and Google Scholar. Inclusion criteria included research on lung cancer published in English in the last ten years (2014-2024). The results showed that 20 articles met the inclusion criteria. The results of the review show several common problems experienced by lung cancer patients, including depression, anxiety, social isolation, stigmatization, mental health problems, and difficulties in adaptation. The impact is a decrease in emotional well-being, a reduction in quality of life, an increase in physical symptoms, and a worsening of the disease prognosis. Several prevention strategies include providing multidisciplinary therapy through supportive and palliative care, improving the quality of psychosocial health services, cognitive behavioral therapy, social support therapy, psycho-education, increasing social support, spiritual treatment, increasing healthy behavior, and using confrontation and stress coping. Psychosocial problems experienced by lung cancer patients are often complex and can include various aspects. Several common issues experienced by lung cancer patients are related to psychosocial problems. The impact of psychosocial problems can worsen the prognosis of lung cancer so several treatment efforts are needed to overcome psychosocial problems in lung cancer patients. Keywords: Adaptation, Lung Cancer, Literature Review, Psychosocial

Abstract

ABSTRACT High nurse turnover can lead to a shortage of experienced staff, increase the workload for those remaining, and potentially lead to dissatisfaction and negatively impact patient safety and hospital performance. One of the most important factors predicting the decision to change jobs among nurses is the level of job embeddedness. Knowing the antecedent factors of job embeddedness in nurses in the private hospital sector. This research uses the literature study method, using 3 databases by entering keywords that are adjusted to the standard Boolean Operators keywords. This study consisted of 10 articles from various countries. Several antecedent factors of job embeddedness were found in this study, especially in private hospitals. Of the 9 antecedent factors found in this literature review, researchers grouped them into 2 (two) major groups, including individual factors and organizational factors. Individual factors consist of self-efficacy, professional self-concept, work craft, and perceived well-being. Meanwhile, environmental factors consist of leadership, breach of contract, work environment, quality of relationship between leaders and team members (LMX), and work life (values, fairness, community, and control). These findings underscore the importance of developing organizational strategies that support nurses' individual development, create a positive work environment, and consider values, fairness, community, and control in an effort to strengthen nurses' work attachment and maintain their retention in the long term. Keywords: Nurses, Work Engagement, Health Care, Private Sector  ABSTRAK Turnover perawat yang tinggi dapat menyebabkan kekurangan staf yang berpengalaman, meningkatkan beban kerja bagi yang tersisa, dan berpotensi menyebabkan ketidakpuasan serta berdampak negatif pada keselamatan pasien dan kinerja rumah sakit. Salah satu faktor terpenting yang memprediksi keputusan untuk berpindah secara sukarela pada kalangan perawat adalah tingkat job embeddedness. Mengetahui faktor antesenden job embeddedness pada perawat di sector rumah sakit swasta. Beberapa factor anteseden job embeddedness ditemukan dalam penelitian ini, khususnya di rumah sakit swasta. Dari 9 faktor anteseden yang ditemukan dalam tinjauan pustaka ini, peneliti mengelompokkannya menjadi 2 (dua) kelompok besar, antara lain faktor individu dan faktor organisasi. Faktor individu terdiri dari efikasi diri, konsep diri profesional, kerajinan kerja, dan perceived well-being. Sementara itu, faktor lingkungan terdiri dari kepemimpinan, pelanggaran kontrak, lingkungan kerja, kualitas hubungan antara pemimpin dan anggota tim (LMX), serta kehidupan kerja (nilai, keadilan, komunitas, dan kontrol). Temuan ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya pengembangan strategi organisasi yang mendukung perkembangan individu perawat, menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang positif, serta mempertimbangkan nilai-nilai, keadilan, komunitas, dan kontrol dalam upaya memperkuat keterikatan kerja perawat dan menjaga retensi mereka dalam jangka panjang. Kata Kunci: Perawat, Keterikatan Kerja, Pelayanan Kesehatan, Sektor Swasta

Abstract

The quality of a nurse’s work life is the degree of satisfaction regarding personal and organizational needs based on experience in a work organization. A nurse with a dual role is the nurse who acts as a mother and a professional nursing staff at the same time. The purpose was to determine differences in the quality of female nurses’ work life in gender and nursing perspective at Balung General Hospital and Kalisat General Hospital in Jember Regency. The research method uses a comparative study with a quantitative research type. The sampling technique in this research is random sampling with a total of 115 samples. Data collection was conducted by using questionnaires about the quality of nurses’ work life from the nursing perspective and questionnaires conflict with women’s dual role from the gender perspective. Data processing using the Mann-Whitney analysis test with a 95% significance level (α=0.05). The results using Mann-Whitney analysis showed that there is a difference between the gender perspective and the nursing perspective (p=0.000). The mean results showed that the nursing perspective () is higher than the gender perspective (). The conclusion shows that the quality of female nursing work life from the gender perspective needs to be improved. The hospital needed to review further regarding work schedules and shift time; the family needed to provide full support and good cooperation; and female nurses themselves must also have good coping control, time, and energy management. Apart from that, it is necessary to have a policy from the room head and team leader regarding the distribution of schedules for female nursing staff without reducing the feeling of unfairness for male health workers.

Abstract

Nurses with an altruistic attitude should prioritize the patients' interests over their own and strive to care for the welfare of others. This significantly affects the level of workplace violence among nurses, where violence in the workplace is a prevalent issue in the nurses' work environment. This research aims to analyze the relationship between nurses' altruism and the level of workplace violence among nurses in hospitals in the agro-industrial area of Jember district. This study employs a quantitative correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling, resulting in a sample of 178 nurses. Data collection involved an altruism scale questionnaire and a workplace violence questionnaire. The research utilizes the Kendall Tau-C test. The research results revealed that 84.8% of respondents exhibited a high level of altruism, and 64.6% of respondents displayed a low level of workplace violence. Both variables show a p-value of 0.008 (p-value < 0.05), indicating a relationship between nurses' altruism and the level of workplace violence. This study shows a negative correlation value of r = -0.159, indicating a weak correlation. The lower the nurses' altruism attitude, the higher the level of workplace violence among them. The nurses' altruism attitude significantly influences patient assessment; the better the patient assessment provided by nurses, the lower the occurrence of conflicts.

Abstract

Abstrak Salah satu indikator kualitas pelayanan di Unit Gawat Darurat adalah angka kematian. Salah satu penyebab tingginya angka mortalitas adalah perilaku waktu tanggap petugas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelatihan dan penghargaan terhadap perilaku waktu tanggap melalui efikasi diri. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah cross sectional. Sampel penelitian adalah perawat IGD rumah sakit tipe B di Jawa Timur sebanyak 102 orang dengan teknik pengambilan sampel total sampling. Variabel penelitian terdiri dari pelatihan, penghargaan, perilaku waktu tanggap, dan efikasi diri. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskripsi, dan analisis inferensial menggunakan Structural Equation Model (SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas responden berusia 18-40 tahun dengan persentase 75%, sebagian besar responden berjenis kelamin laki-laki dengan persentase 69,6%, dan pendidikan terakhir yang paling banyak adalah perawat dengan persentase 64,7%. Hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan SmartPLS menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan berpengaruh positif terhadap perilaku waktu tanggap melalui efikasi diri dengan nilai p-values sebesar 0,011. Sementara itu, penghargaan berpengaruh positif terhadap perilaku response time melalui self-efficacy dengan nilai p-values sebesar 0,004. Upaya peningkatan efikasi diri dilakukan untuk meningkatkan perilaku waktu tanggap petugas. Kata Kunci: pelatihan, penghargaan, self efficacy, perilaku response time   Abstract One of the indicators of service quality in the Emergency Department is mortality. One of the causes of the high mortality rate is the response time behavior of officers. This study aimed to identify the effect of training and appreciation on response time behavior through self-efficacy. The research method used was cross-sectional. The research sample was emergency room nurses of type B hospitals in East Java as many as 102 people with total sampling technique. Variables of the study consist of training, awards, response time behavior, and self -efficacy. The research instrument used a questionnaire. Data analysis applied description analysis, and inferential analysis used Structural Equation Model (SEM). The results showed that the majority of respondents aged 18-40 years old with 75%, most of the respondents were male with 69.6%, and the common education was nurse with 64.7%. The results of hypothesis test using SmartPLS showed that training has a positive effect on response time behavior through self-efficacy with p-values of 0.011. Meanwhile, the award has a positive effect on response time behavior through self-efficacy with p-values of 0.004. Abstract

ABSTRACT Patient safety is a key element in healthcare services, yet incident reporting in Indonesia lags behind that of developed countries. Major barriers include a blame culture, fear of sanctions, heavy workload, and the complexity of reporting systems. Addressing these challenges is crucial to enhancing transparency and accountability in healthcare services. This study aims to identify barriers and facilitators in patient safety incident reporting in hospitals and provide evidence-based recommendations for improvement. This literature review employs thematic analysis of articles retrieved from five major scientific databases. Articles were selected based on their relevance to patient safety incident reporting and evaluated using a critical appraisal framework. Key barriers identified include a blame culture, fear of sanctions, high workload, and complex reporting systems. Conversely, organizational support, intensive training, anonymous reporting systems, and a strong safety culture were found to enhance healthcare staff engagement in reporting. Additionally, technology-based reporting systems were shown to simplify processes and improve reporting efficiency. This study highlights strategies to strengthen patient safety culture and improve reporting systems, including non-punitive policies, interprofessional training, and the implementation of technology. These findings contribute to the development of more inclusive and effective patient safety policies. Keywords: Incident Patient Safety Report, Barrier, Fasilitator, Hospital.  ABSTRAK Keselamatan pasien adalah elemen kunci dalam pelayanan kesehatan, tetapi pelaporan insiden keselamatan pasien di Indonesia masih tertinggal dibandingkan negara maju. Hambatan utama meliputi budaya menyalahkan, ketakutan akan sanksi, beban kerja tinggi, dan kompleksitas sistem pelaporan. Mengatasi tantangan ini sangat penting untuk meningkatkan transparansi dan akuntabilitas dalam pelayanan kesehatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hambatan dan fasilitator dalam pelaporan insiden keselamatan pasien di rumah sakit serta memberikan rekomendasi berbasis bukti untuk perbaikannya. Kajian literatur ini menggunakan analisis tematik terhadap artikel dari lima basis data ilmiah utama. Artikel dipilih berdasarkan relevansi dengan pelaporan insiden keselamatan pasien dan dievaluasi menggunakan kerangka penilaian kritis. Hambatan utama yang ditemukan adalah budaya menyalahkan, ketakutan akan sanksi, beban kerja tinggi, dan sistem pelaporan yang kompleks. Sebaliknya, faktor pendukung seperti dukungan organisasi, pelatihan intensif, sistem pelaporan anonim, dan budaya keselamatan yang kuat meningkatkan keterlibatan tenaga kesehatan. Sistem pelaporan berbasis teknologi juga terbukti menyederhanakan proses dan meningkatkan efisiensi pelaporan. Studi ini menyoroti strategi untuk memperkuat budaya keselamatan pasien dan meningkatkan sistem pelaporan, termasuk kebijakan non-penghukuman, pelatihan interprofesional, dan implementasi teknologi. Temuan ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan kebijakan keselamatan pasien yang lebih inklusif dan efektif. Kata Kunci: Pelaporan Insiden Keselamatan Pasien, Hambatan, Fasilitator, Rumah Sakit.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infection (CAUTI) is one of the most common hospital-acquired infections. Nurse adherence to the implementation of the CAUTI Bundle is a key factor in preventing this infection. However, various barriers such as high workload, lack of training, and insufficient organizational support often hinder optimal protocol implementation. The aim of this literature review is to identify the most effective strategies for improving nurse adherence to the implementation of the CAUTI Bundle. A literature review approach was used by analyzing 12 articles discussing strategies to improve adherence to the CAUTI Bundle. Data sources were obtained from PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar between 2015 and 2024. Literature selection was carried out using the PRISMA method, and data were analyzed using thematic synthesis to identify the most effective strategies. The analysis showed that multifaceted strategies were more effective than single interventions in improving nurse adherence to the CAUTI Bundle. Key strategies that proved effective included: empowering nurses in clinical decision-making, such as granting nurses the authority to remove unnecessary catheters, which improved adherence and reduced CAUTI rates; data-driven monitoring and adherence audits, enabling early detection of non-adherence and successfully reducing CAUTI incidence over five years; hands-on training and clinical simulations, which enhanced nurses' skills in applying nosocomial infection protocols, though their effectiveness may decrease without continuous monitoring systems; and evidence-based policies and regulations, which help establish adherence standards but are more effective when supported by training and technology-based monitoring systems. This literature review emphasizes that the most effective strategy to improve nurse adherence to the CAUTI Bundle is a multifaceted approach, including nurse empowerment, data-driven monitoring, hands-on training, and policy-based regulations. Policy-based approaches alone are insufficient without supporting strategies to sustain adherence over time. Therefore, hospitals and healthcare institutions are recommended to adopt comprehensive evidence-based strategies in efforts to prevent nosocomial infections and enhance patient safety. Keywords: CAUTI Bundle Implementation, Nurse Adherence, Nosocomial Infections, Data-Driven Monitoring, Patient Safety.  ABSTRAK Infeksi Saluran Kemih terkait Kateter (Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infection/CAUTI) merupakan salah satu infeksi nosokomial yang paling sering terjadi di rumah sakit. Kepatuhan perawat terhadap penerapan Bundle CAUTI menjadi faktor utama dalam mencegah infeksi ini. Namun, berbagai hambatan seperti beban kerja tinggi, kurangnya pelatihan, serta minimnya dukungan organisasi sering kali menghambat penerapan protokol pencegahan yang optimal. Tujuan dari tinjauan literatur ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi strategi yang paling efektif dalam meningkatkan kepatuhan perawat terhadap penerapan Bundle CAUTI. Pendekatan tinjauan literatur digunakan dengan menganalisis 12 artikel yang membahas strategi peningkatan kepatuhan terhadap Bundle CAUTI. Sumber data diperoleh dari PubMed, Scopus, dan Google Scholar dalam rentang 2015–2024. Seleksi literatur dilakukan menggunakan metode PRISMA, dan data dianalisis dengan pendekatan sintesis tematik untuk mengidentifikasi strategi yang paling efektif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa strategi multifaset lebih efektif dibandingkan pendekatan tunggal dalam meningkatkan kepatuhan perawat terhadap penerapan Bundle CAUTI. Strategi utama yang terbukti efektif meliputi: pemberdayaan perawat dalam pengambilan keputusan klinis, seperti pemberian wewenang kepada perawat untuk melepas kateter yang tidak diperlukan, yang terbukti meningkatkan kepatuhan dan menurunkan angka CAUTI; monitoring berbasis data dan audit kepatuhan, yang memungkinkan deteksi dini terhadap ketidakpatuhan dan berhasil mengurangi insiden CAUTI dalam lima tahun; pelatihan hands-on dan simulasi klinis, yang meningkatkan keterampilan perawat dalam menerapkan protokol infeksi nosokomial, meskipun efektivitasnya dapat menurun tanpa sistem monitoring yang berkelanjutan; serta kebijakan dan regulasi berbasis bukti, yang berperan dalam menetapkan standar kepatuhan, namun efektivitasnya meningkat jika didukung dengan pelatihan dan sistem monitoring berbasis teknologi. Tinjauan literatur ini menegaskan bahwa strategi yang paling efektif dalam meningkatkan kepatuhan perawat terhadap Bundle CAUTI adalah pendekatan multifaset yang mencakup pemberdayaan perawat, monitoring berbasis data, pelatihan hands-on, dan kebijakan berbasis regulasi. Pendekatan berbasis kebijakan saja tidak cukup tanpa strategi pendukung yang dapat meningkatkan kepatuhan secara berkelanjutan. Oleh karena itu, rumah sakit dan institusi kesehatan disarankan untuk mengadopsi strategi berbasis bukti yang komprehensif dalam upaya pencegahan infeksi nosokomial dan peningkatan keselamatan pasien. Kata Kunci: Penerapan Bundle CAUTI, Kepatuhan Perawat, Infeksi Nosokomial, Monitoring Berbasis Data, Keselamatan Pasien.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia (VAP) is a common nosocomial infection in ICUs, contributing significantly to morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs. Implementing VAP bundles has shown effectiveness in reducing VAP incidence, but its success depends on various internal and external factors. This study employed a literature review with a quantitative approach. Data were gathered from 27 relevant articles published between 2013 and 2023, selected from an initial 231 articles obtained through structured searches in Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, and ScienceDirect using Boolean keywords such as “Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia” AND “VAP bundle” AND “Compliance.” Analysis revealed that internal factors, including medical staff knowledge and competency, significantly affect compliance with VAP bundles. Challenges such as insufficient continuous training and limited resources were highlighted. External factors, such as regular audits, managerial support, and a conducive work environment, were identified as critical in supporting successful VAP bundle implementation. Addressing internal challenges through structured training programs and resource allocation is essential. Simultaneously, external support mechanisms like frequent audits and strong managerial backing are necessary to ensure sustained compliance with VAP bundles. An integrative approach that encompasses intensive training, routine audits, and reinforced institutional policies is vital for the effective implementation of VAP bundles, thereby improving ICU patient care quality. Keywords: Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia, VAP Bundle, Internal Factors, External Factors, Protocol Compliance, ICU.  ABSTRAK Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia (VAP) merupakan infeksi nosokomial yang umum terjadi di ruang ICU, yang berkontribusi secara signifikan terhadap morbiditas, mortalitas, dan biaya perawatan. Implementasi bundle VAP terbukti efektif dalam menurunkan angka kejadian VAP, namun keberhasilannya bergantung pada berbagai faktor internal dan eksternal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode tinjauan literatur dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Data dikumpulkan dari 27 artikel relevan yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2013 hingga 2023, diseleksi dari 231 artikel awal yang diperoleh melalui pencarian terstruktur di Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, dan ScienceDirect dengan kata kunci Boolean seperti “Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia” AND “VAP bundle” AND “Compliance.” Analisis menunjukkan bahwa faktor internal, termasuk pengetahuan dan kompetensi staf medis, secara signifikan memengaruhi kepatuhan terhadap bundle VAP. Hambatan seperti kurangnya pelatihan berkelanjutan dan keterbatasan sumber daya menjadi tantangan utama. Faktor eksternal seperti audit rutin, dukungan manajerial, dan lingkungan kerja yang kondusif diidentifikasi sebagai elemen penting dalam mendukung keberhasilan implementasi bundle VAP. Mengatasi tantangan internal melalui program pelatihan terstruktur dan penyediaan sumber daya sangat diperlukan. Di sisi lain, mekanisme dukungan eksternal seperti audit berkala dan dukungan manajerial yang kuat juga esensial untuk memastikan kepatuhan berkelanjutan terhadap bundle VAP. Pendekatan integratif yang mencakup pelatihan intensif, audit rutin, dan penguatan kebijakan institusional sangat penting untuk implementasi bundle VAP yang efektif, sehingga meningkatkan kualitas perawatan pasien di ruang ICU. Kata Kunci: Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia, Bundle VAP, Faktor Internal, Faktor Eksternal, Kepatuhan Protokol, ICU.
