Abstract

Perubahan garis pantai merupakan fenomena dinamis yang didorong oleh interaksi proses alami dan antropogenik, termasuk transportasi sedimen, arus laut, aktivitas gelombang, dan intervensi manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perubahan garis pantai di Desa Pambang Pesisir, Kabupaten Bengkalis, selama periode 20 tahun (2004–2024) menggunakan citra satelit Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS C1 Level 2 tahun 2004, 2014, dan 2024. Metodologi yang digunakan meliputi analisis perubahan garis pantai melalui teknik penginderaan jauh dan pengukuran parameter fisika air laut seperti kecepatan arus dan tinggi gelombang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya tren penambahan garis pantai (akresi) di tiga stasiun pengamatan. Stasiun I, yang terletak di kawasan hutan mangrove, mengalami kemajuan garis pantai dengan laju 7,81 meter per tahun. Stasiun II, yang terletak di zona galangan kapal mengalami akresi sebesar 6,1 meter per tahun, sedangkan Stasiun III sebagai kawasan pariwisata, menunjukkan penambahan garis pantai sebesar 6,90 meter per tahun. Analisis pasang surut menunjukkan pola pasang surut campuran dengan dominasi semi-diurnal. Kecepatan arus bervariasi di berbagai stasiun, yaitu 0,29 m/s di Stasiun I, 0,33 m/s di Stasiun II, dan 0,36 m/s di Stasiun III, sedangkan tinggi gelombang masing-masing diukur sebesar 0,3 meter, 0,08 meter, dan 0,7 meter. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa perubahan garis pantai terutama dipengaruhi oleh kecepatan arus, energi gelombang, dan aktivitas antropogenik, terutama pembangunan struktur perlindungan pantai seperti tanggul. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan penting untuk pengelolaan dan perencanaan pembangunan pesisir yang berkelanjutan, dengan menekankan pentingnya mengintegrasikan dinamika alam dan dampak manusia ke dalam tata kelola wilayah pesisir.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat telah dilaksanakan di Desa Buruk Bakul, Kabupaten Bengkalis, dengan tujuan meningkatkan nilai tambah ikan lomek (Harpodon nehereus) melalui diversifikasi produk olahan pangan. Selama ini, ikan lomek hanya dipasarkan dalam bentuk segar atau asin, sehingga harganya relatif rendah. Melalui pelatihan Pemberdayaan Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM), masyarakat diperkenalkan dengan teknologi sederhana untuk mengolah ikan lomek menjadi produk stickie (stik ikan ekonomis) dan abonie (abon ikan enak). Proses produksi melibatkan tahapan persiapan bahan, pengolahan adonan, hingga pengemasan produk. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa produk stik ikan lomek memiliki tekstur renyah dan rasa gurih, sedangkan abon ikan lomek memberikan aroma khas rempah dengan daya simpan lebih lama. Diversifikasi produk olahan pangan ini memberikan peluang ekonomi atau sumber pendapatan baru, memperkuat peran UMKM, dan mendorong pemberdayaan kelompok ibu rumah tangga. Selain itu, pengembangan produk unggulan berbasis potensi lokal mendukung ketahanan pangan, pengembangan desa wisata berbasis kuliner, dan berkontribusi pada pencapaian tujuan pembangunan yang berkelanjutan di Desa Buruk Bakul.

Abstract

Coastal ecosystems are highly sensitive to nutrient enrichment, particularly from land-based activities and aquaculture effluents, which contribute to water quality degradation. This study evaluated the concentrations of nitrate, ammonia, and phosphate in the coastal waters of Buruk Bakul Village, Bengkalis, Riau Province, Indonesia. Water samples were collected from four representative stations in August 2025: a river estuary, a shrimp pond, a mangrove rehabilitation site, and a natural mangrove forest. The analysis was conducted using spectrophotometric methods in accordance with the Indonesian National Standards (SNI). Results indicated that nitrate concentrations ranged from 0.0822 to 0.1932 mg/L, ammonia from 0.5705 to 1.7338 mg/L, and phosphate from 0.0845 to 0.299 mg/L. All parameters exceeded the seawater quality standards for marine biota established by the Decree of the Minister of Environment No. 51/2004, indicating a significant anthropogenic influence. The river estuary recorded the highest nitrate and phosphate levels, reflecting inputs from land runoff and domestic waste, while ammonia peaked in the shrimp pond due to aquaculture discharge. Nutrient levels in mangrove-associated stations were lower but still above the threshold, indicating that mangrove ecosystems provide some capacity to retain and transform nutrients, although insufficient for full remediation. Elevated nutrient concentrations pose ecological risks, such as eutrophication and algal blooms, which may disrupt biodiversity and fisheries productivity. This study emphasizes the urgency of improving aquaculture waste management, reducing land-derived nutrient loading, and strengthening mangrove conservation and rehabilitation as integrated strategies to sustain coastal ecosystem health in Buruk Bakul and similar regions. These findings provide a baseline for nutrient management and coastal rehabilitation strategies in western Indonesian waters

Abstract

Mangrove forests play a crucial ecological role in coastal ecosystems. One of its ecological functions is that mangroves absorb and store carbon, thereby reducing carbon emissions. The increase in atmospheric CO2 levels is a result of human activities, both directly and indirectly. This study aims to assess mangrove stand density, determine differences in mangrove stand density and carbon stocks between stations, and examine the relationships between mangrove stand density and biomass, carbon stocks, and CO2 absorption in the mangrove area of ​​Selat Baru Village, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. This research was conducted in November 2024 in Selat Baru Village, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. The method used in this study was a survey. To determine the relationship between mangrove tree density and carbon stock, a regression test was performed. Mangrove Stand Density ranged from 877.78 - 1,211.11 ind/ha. Mangrove biomass ranged from 22.62 to 30.16 tons/ha. Carbon Stock ranges from 10.63-14.19 tons/ha. CO2 absorption ranges from 38.98-51.98 tons/ha. The density of mangrove stands and carbon stocks show a moderate relationship, as indicated by the correlation coefficient (r) of 0.736.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the concentrations of Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and sediment organic matter, as well as their relationship, in the coastal waters of Bokor Village, Kepulauan Meranti Regency. The research was conducted from December 2024 to January 2025 using a survey method at three observation stations selected based on varying levels of human activity. TSS analysis was performed gravimetrically according to the Indonesian National Standard (SNI 6989.3:2019), while sediment organic matter was analysed using the Loss on Ignition (LOI) method. The results showed that TSS concentrations ranged from 10.4 to 17.56 mg/L and were within the good-quality standard for marine waters. The concentration of sediment organic matter ranged from 3.0% to 5.7%, which is categorised as low. A simple linear regression analysis indicated a weak positive correlation between TSS and sediment organic matter. This suggests that suspended solids account for only 10.1% of the variability in sediment organic matter, with the remaining variation influenced by other environmental factors.
