Abstract

Pesantren, as a traditional Islamic educational institution, not only transfers religious knowledge but also instills moral and social values that are in line with the principles of compassion, justice, and concern for others and the universe. The yellow book, as the main source of learning in pesantren, has a major role in translating the values of Rahmatan Li al-Ālamīn into daily life practices. Through the teaching of fiqh, tasawuf, and other teachings, students not only understand religious theory but are also taught to practice these values in their social interactions. The application of the concept of Rahmatan Li al-Ālamīn is also reflected in social life in pesantren, where students are taught to live together in harmony, help each other, and respect differences. Social activities carried out by pesantren, such as providing assistance to the community, show that this value of compassion applies not only to relationships between individuals but also to relationships with society at large. In addition, literacy in yellow books also makes a big contribution to the development of the character of students, by teaching moral and ethical values that are in line with the principle of Rahmatan Li al-Ālamīn.

Abstract

The women’s body in relation with the concept of existence is mutually binding. Body becomes a starting point to look at the existence of women themselves. The women’s as commodity and political instrument historically cannot be separated as the former is in many occasions seen as dangerous, especially if it is uncontrolled. Various policies have been produced by authorities as the expression of control over women’s bodies. Women themselves as the owners of the body are powerless against the control and power over her body. Any resistances to response or demand for more control will simply be labeled as immoral and inappropriate. In fact, state control over the body is actually considered as a result of the willingness of the state’s presence under the pretext of the need for more controlled public good. In other study, Foucault and ecofeminism present stringing struggle of many groups against any form of power over the woman’s body. The formation of power over sexuality is conducted through disciplining the body and through a population policy to regulate the rate of population growth. Foucault criticized the effort to control women’s body. The aim of this article is to prove the power through its apparatus controls women’s bodies through reproductive policies. This paper also describes the mastery correlation of the female body with earth, in relation with the views of ecofeminism. Ecofeminism also takes a more extreme way to be directly involved in saving earth, the first teritory heavily linked with the women’s body. The concern with women’s bodies also means caring about the future survival of human.

Abstract

Arabic language education in Indonesia must adapt to technological advancement and students' contextual needs. This study aimed to develop Arabic teaching materials based on the Merdeka (Independent) Curriculum and analyze their effectiveness in improving students’ Arabic language skills at MAN Pandeglang, Banten. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) design, the study followed four phases: needs analysis, material development, classroom implementation, and evaluation. The materials were designed using a communicative approach, project-based learning, and digital integration to create an interactive and student-centered learning experience. Needs analysis revealed significant gaps in existing materials, particularly in engaging students and promoting communication. Implementation in classroom settings showed that students responded positively, with greater motivation and participation. Evaluation through pretests and posttests demonstrated significant improvement, especially in speaking and listening skills. The study concludes that the developed materials are effective and suitable for Arabic instruction aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum, contributing to a more relevant, practical, and engaging Arabic learning environment for Indonesian students.
