Abstract

Mind mapping is an innovative learning strategy that has an impact on learning. This research aims to define and analyze the use of mind mapping in learning. This research is qualitative-descriptive with library research type. The results of the research show that the use of mind mapping not only has advantages, but also various disadvantages when used in learning. To minimize these weaknesses, this research reviews 20 journals (2018-2022) both nationally and those that have been selected through Google Scholar. The steps in reviewing the research literature are collecting journals/articles about mind mapping, reducing journals/articles for the last five years (2018-2022), analyzing the definition of mind mapping, synthesizing the opportunities and impacts of using mind mapping in learning, analyzing obstacles to mind mapping utilization in learning, and making conclusions. Based on library research, it is found that one way for teachers and students to maximize learning is by designing mind mapping with other learning models or tools. Another finding is that teachers can use various applications to make it easier for students to make mind maps. With this research, it is hoped that learning will be fun and improve students' thinking skills.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are one of the skills needed by students in the 21st century. The research aims to describe and analyze the application of the SETS approach in improving students' critical thinking skills in Indonesia. The method used in this study is a qualitative method of secondary data in the form of a literature study based on the results of previous research. The sample in this study was 20 published scientific articles. Based on the analysis of 20 articles analyzed, it can be seen that the SETS approach can improve students' critical thinking skills which include increasing the N-gain value, positive student responses during learning, and student activity. Further research should integrate other innovative learning models with the SETS approach so that they can be used to develop other 21st-century skills.

Abstract

This research describes the validity of learning materials consisting of the syllabus, lesson plans, handouts, student worksheets, assessment of creative thinking skills, and concept mastery. The method is a modified research and development method, and this research is only limited to the validity of the learning materials. The developed learning materials were tested on 18 grade ten of Senior High School students. The data collection was carried out using the validation methods, and data analysis was carried out quantitatively. The validation results by three validators concluded that the syllabus obtained an average score of 3.81 with a completely valid category, lesson plan obtained an average score of 3.87 with a completely vali category. Meanwhile, handouts obtained an average score of 3.78 with a completely valid category, student worksheets obtained an average score of 3.88 with a completely valid category, assessment of creative thinking obtained an average score of 3.83 with a completely valid category, and assessment of concept mastery obtained an average score of 3.77 with a completely valid category. So that the learning materials developed is declared valid.

Abstract

This study aims to produce physics teachinginstruments with cooperative learning model type group investigation to improve students self-efficacy and learning achievement. Development of teachinginstrumentsusing Kemp model. The experimental design uses a one-pretest-posttest design model with three time replications. Subjects in this study are teachinginstruments and students of class XI MIPA. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 3 Singaraja-Bali in the academic year of 2017/2018. Data were collected using validation method, questionnaire, observation, questionnaire and test. Data analysis techniques used are qualitative descriptive analysis and parametric statistical analysis. The results showed that the developed teachingintruments were valid, practical, and effective.The validitywas indicated by the average scores in a good categoryforlesson plan, BAS, student worksheet, achievement test and self-efficacy questionnaire.The practicisibilitywas showed by: (a) a good implementation of the lesson plan, (b) student activity is in excellent category, (c) the readability of BAS and student worksheet are in moderate categories, and (d) the obstacles during the learning activities can be overcome.The effectiveness was indicated by: (a) students learning achievement has increased significantly; (b) students self-efficacy has increased significantly; and (c) students respond is positive to the learning instruments and learning activity.  In conclusion, physics learning instruments with cooperative learning model type group investigation can be used to improve students self-efficacy and learning achievement.

Abstract

This research aims to improve students scientific process and aspects of knowledge, as well as to know activity and the response of the students through the application of science learning assisted PhET Simulation Program to 30 students of eight grades in junior high school. This research was experimental research with one group pretest-posttest design. Data were analyzed by descriptive quantitative results: (a) Students science process skills are increase with an average value post test results of 80 (N-gain; 0.71 with high criteria); (b) Students aspects of knowledge are increase with an average value post test results of 80 (N-gain; 0.74 with high criteria); (c) Frequency of activities that do experiment/ observation that by 18.3 percent while activities that students do at least is behavior that is not relevant to KBM by 3%; (d) The students positive response to learning process (83% with very strong criteria). Conclusion of this research that application of science learning assisted PhET simulation program can improve students process skills and aspects of knowledge.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is produced Students Worksheet (LKS) which valid, practice, and effective to support the learning biology materials using a guided inquiry model. The development of worksheets is using ADDIE (analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate) models and being implemented in XI Grade senior high of Trensains Tebuireng Jombang on odd semester of 2016/2017 academic year with the One-group pretest-posttest design. The validity of the worksheet is measured from consistency (construct validity) and relevant (content validity aspects) based on expert assessment with a minimum score of 2.60 (Valid). Practicality worksheet is measured from students activities and Students activities can be avowed good by minimum 65% of percentage. The effectiveness of the learning device is measured by its impact of the increasing of students learning result in a pilot implementation or final implementation class as well as students response. Meanwhile, the learning device can be avowed effective if there are significant improvement scores of students learning process in knowledge aspect. The responses of students are measured by the percentage of students responses "Yes" in every aspect of the questionnaire with a minimum score of 61% of percentage. The validity and practicality of the data are analyzed descriptively while the increasing of learning cognitive aspects results are analyzed inferentially by using the paired t-test. Based on the data analysis results can be concluded that the development of learning device are valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

Peserta didik yang berpengetahuan dapat diwujudkan melalui proses belajar dalam suatu pendidikan. Namun, peserta didik yang mengalami kurangnya keterlibatan secara maksimal dalam pembelajaran dapat mengurangi makna dari pembelajaran yang aktif dan efektif sehingga diperlukan cara untuk melatih keaktifan belajar peserta didik. Salah satunya dengan menggunakan e-quiz teka-teki silang karena peserta didik menyukai belajar dengan bermain. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan e-quiz teka-teki silang pada materi ekosistem yang valid dan praktis dengan kualitas butir soal yang baik. Parameter yang diukur adalah validitas dan kepraktisan e-quiz teka-teki silang serta kualitas butir soalnya. Indikator keaktifan belajar peserta didik, meliputi mendengar dan memperhatikan, membaca, menulis, bertanya, berdiskusi, mencari berbagai informasi, mempresentasikan, dan menilai kemampuan diri. Metode penelitian ini menerapkan model 4D (Define, Design, Development, dan Disseminate) tanpa Disseminate. Uji coba terbatas dilakukan pada 16 peserta didik kelas X MIPA 7 SMA Negeri 2 Ponorogo. Validitas e-quiz teka-teki silang didapatkan dari hasil validasi para ahli. Kepraktisan didapatkan dari angket respon peserta didik dan pengamatan keaktifan belajar observer. Analisis kualitas butir soal terdiri atas analisis validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran, dan daya pembeda soal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-quiz teka-teki silang yang dikembangkan mendapatkan presentase validitas sejumlah 88,3% dengan kriteria sangat valid. Kepraktisan e-quiz teka-teki silang memperoleh beberapa hasil di antaranya respon peserta didik memiliki presentase rata-rata 97,5% kriteria sangat praktis dan ketercapaian indikator keaktifan belajar memiliki presentase 94,1% kriteria sangat aktif. Butir soal yang dikembangkan memperoleh validitas sebesar 75% kriteria valid dan 25% kriteria tidak valid. Reliabilitas butir soal dengan nilai 0,88 kriteria sangat reliabel. Tingkat kesukaran butir soal sangat mudah sebesar 10%, mudah 30%, dan sedang 60%. Daya pembeda butir soal kriteria sangat baik sebesar 55%, baik 25%, dan cukup 20%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, maka e-quiz teka-teki silang untuk melatih keaktifan belajar peserta didik materi ekosistem SMA dinyatakan sangat valid dan sangat praktis dengan butir soal baik. Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir kritis adalah salah satu keterampilan yang penting untuk bersaing pada abad ke-21. Keterampilan berpikir kritis dapat dilatihkan dengan LKPD berbasis Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). Materi yang diterapkan pada LKPD berbasis Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) merupakan materi“pencemaran lingkungan karena berhubungan dengan peristiwa yang terjadi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan validitas LKPD “Pencemaran Lingkungan” berbasis Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik berdasarkan penilaian oleh dua dosen biologi dan satu guru biologi. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan 4-D yaitu Define, Design, Develop tanpa Disseminate. Penyusunan LKPD memuat 5 komponen yaitu komponen isi, penyajian, kebahasaan, kesesuain dengan pembelajaran CTL, dan LKPD melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Hasil validitas menunjukkan bahwa LKPD “Pencemaran Lingkungan” berbasis Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) memperoleh persentase sebesar 97,8% dengan kriteria sangat valid. Kata kunci: Validitas, LKPD, CTL, Berpikir Kritis, Pencemaran Lingkungan.

Abstract

One of the efforts to deal with environmental pollution by exploring natural potentials and traditions in the local community is ethno-conservation education. This study aims to develop a flipbook of environmental pollution handling based on Surabaya's local wisdom to train students in Ethno-conservation. The type of research is Research and Development with the ADDIE model of Branch theory. Theoretical feasibility is reviewed from the results of expert validation, while empirical feasibility is examined from the readability test. The data obtained were analyzed by descriptive qualitative. The results obtained are a validation score of 3.88, a percentage of 97% and the category is excellent, and the legibility test is at level 10. Hence, the Flipbook has the potential to be used in learning the handling of environmental pollution based on Surabaya local wisdom to train students in ethno-conservation.

Abstract

Pembelajaran Biologi abad 21 menekankan siswa untuk dapat menguasai keterampilan 4C, yakni keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi/kritis, memiliki pola pikir kreatif, berkomunikasi serta mahir memecahkan permasalahan. Kemampuan berpikir kritis dapat difasilitasi dengan menggunakan peristiwa nyata yang ada di lingkungan sekitar peserta didik. Oleh sebab itu dibutuhkan suatu LKPD yang mengarah pada aktivitas penanganan permasalahan agar anak didik dapat belajar keahlian berpikir kritis serta dapat memperoleh wawasan dan konsep penting. Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk menghasilkan e-LKPD berbasis problem solving guna melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada submateri pencemaran lingkungan yang valid, praktis, serta efektif. Parameter yang diukur dalam penelitian meliputi validitas e-LKPD berdasarkan komponen penyajian, komponen isi dan komponen kebahasaan, kepraktisan e-LKPD berdasarkan keterlaksanaan kegiatan siswa selama menggunakan E-LKPD, keefektivan e-LKPD berdasarkan hasil keterampilan berpikir kritis serta respon siswa. Hasil belajar berupa keterampilan berpikir kritis dinilai menggunakan lembar pretest dan posttest. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan 4D (define, design, development, tanpa disseminate). Data diperoleh dengan metode validasi, observasi, tes, dan angket respon. Data dianalisis dengan deskriptif kuantitatif. Teknik analisis data yaitu pada validitas dianalisis menggunakan skala likert, kepraktisan dengan menghitung rata-rata persentase kemudian diinterpretasikan ke dalam skala likert, dan keefektifan dengan menentukan nilai N-Gain. Hasil belajar keterampilan berpikir kritis serta respon siswa berdasarkan hasil validitas e-LKPD memperoleh skor 95,25% sehingga dinyatakan sangat valid, persentase kepraktisan memperoleh sebesar 93,5% sehingga dinyatakan sangat praktis, dan keefektivan e-LKPD memperoleh ketuntasan hasil pre-test serta post-test sebesar 100%, ketercapaian keterampilan berpikir kritis sebesar 87,6%, dan presentase respon siswa sebesar 93,6%. Dari pernyataan yang telah dipaparkan, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa e-LKPD yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.
