Abstract

The background of this study is the low level of student learning activity in social studies lessons at UPT SDN 007 Bangkinang, as indicated by the lack of active participation by students, such as asking questions, expressing opinions, and discussing. This study employed the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, conducted in two cycles, each consisting of two sessions. The instruments used in this study included observation sheets for student activities, teacher activities, and achievement tests. The results showed an increase in student learning activities from the pre-cycle to cycle II. In the pre-cycle, only 22% of students achieved the mastery category. After implementing the CTL model, there was a significant increase in cycles I and II, with an increase in student activity in learning activities. The CTL model proved capable of creating contextual, interactive learning and encouraging students to connect the material with their real-life experiences. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning model can increase student learning activities in social studies learning in grade IV at UPT SDN 007 Bangkinang.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low math counting skills of class II students totaling 24 people, 14 male students and 10 female students. This study aims to improve the counting skills of grade II elementary school students through the use of the STAD type cooperative learning model with the help of ravine board props, in learning mathematics. This research is a class action research (PTK) conducted in two cycles at UPT SDN 007 Bangkinang. Data collection techniques in this study used documentation techniques, observation techniques, and test techniques. The instruments in this study used learning tools such as ATP, teaching modules, and student worksheets (LKPD). The data analysis technique in this study uses qualitative data, and quantitative data. Based on data analysis, it can be seen that there is an increase in students' counting skills. Before the action, the completeness of the results of students' counting skills was only 33% with a very poor category. In carrying out cycle I meeting I, the completeness of the results of students' counting skills reached 60.56% with the category less. In cycle I meeting 2, the test results of students' counting skills reached 72.66% in the sufficient category. Whereas in cycle 2 meeting I, the test results of students' counting skills reached 76.60% still in the sufficient category. In cycle 2 meeting 2, the test results of students' counting skills reached 85.35% in the good category. This it can be concluded that students' counting skills can be improved by using the STAD type cooperative model using the ravine board props.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low mathematical critical thinking skills of students in Mathematics lessons in class III B UPT SDN 004 Salo. One solution to overcome this problem is to apply the Discovery Learning learning approach. The purpose of this research is to improve students' mathematical critical thinking skills in Mathematics lessons. The research method is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings and four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research time was carried out in May 2025. The subjects of this study were 23 class IIIB students, consisting of 16 men and 7 women. Data Collection techniques were in the form of observation, written test, and documentation. Before the action was carried out, the students' mathematical critical thinking ability was 22.72%, then in cycle I meeting I increased to 36,36%, cycle I meeting II increased to 77,27%. Furthermore, cycle II meeting I increased to 81,81%, and cycle II meeting II increased to 86,36%. It can be concluded that using the discovery learning approach can improve students' mathematical critical thinking ability in Mathematics subjects at UPT SDN 004 Salo.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low problem-solving ability of fifth-grade students, especially in mathematics learning. This research aims to improve the problem-solving ability of class V-A students at UPT SDN 001 Air Tiris. The low problem-solving ability can be improved by using the STAD model based on gamification. This research is a classroom action research, conducted in two cycles and each cycle consists of two meetings. The subjects in this study were 20 students and the observers were the class V-A teacher and peers, while the object was using the STAD model based on gamification to improve students' problem-solving ability. The research instruments consisted of observation sheets of teacher and student activities, test sheets, and documentation sheets. Meanwhile, the data analysis techniques used were qualitative and quantitative. Based on the results of the research conducted through two cycles, in cycle I meeting I the students' problem-solving ability was in the very poor category 45%, and meeting II was in the very poor category 55%. Whereas in cycle II meeting I the students' problem-solving ability was in the poor category 65% and in meeting II in the very good category 90%. Based on these results, it shows that using the STAD model based on gamification can improve the problem-solving ability of class V-A students at UPT SDN 001 Air Tiris.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low critical thinking skills of students in class IV-B, particularly in Mathematics learning. The aim of this study is to improve the critical thinking abilities of the fourth-grade students at UPT SDN 001 Airitiris. The observed deficiency in critical thinking skills can be addressed through the application of the STEM learning model (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). This study is classified as classroom action research, conducted over two cycles, with each cycle comprising two meetings. The subjects of this research include the IV-B class teacher, peers, and 21 students, while the object focuses on utilizing the STEM learning model to enhance students' critical thinking skills. The research instruments consist of observation sheets for both teacher and student activities, test sheets, and documentation sheets. The data analysis techniques employed are both qualitative and quantitative. Based on the results of the research conducted over two cycles, in the first cycle during the first meeting, the students' critical thinking skills were categorized as low at 38%, and in the second meeting, they remained in the low category at 43%. In the second cycle, the first meeting showed that students' critical thinking skills had improved to a moderate level, and in the second meeting, they reached a critical level at 86%. The findings of this study indicate that the implementation of the STEM learning model can effectively enhance the critical thinking skills of IV-B students at UPT SDN 001 Airitiris.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh Project-Based Learning (PBL) terhadap motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar IPA siswa sekolah dasar, serta menguji peran motivasi belajar sebagai mediator. Penelitian menggunakan desain kuasi-eksperimen dengan Non-Equivalent Control Group Design yang melibatkan 50 siswa kelas V di salah satu sekolah dasar di Pekanbaru, Riau. Kelas eksperimen menerima pembelajaran berbasis PBL, sementara kelas kontrol memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket motivasi belajar, tes hasil belajar, dan observasi pelaksanaan PBL. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PBL secara signifikan meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dengan efek ukuran besar. Selain itu, hasil belajar IPA siswa pada kelas eksperimen juga lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Analisis mediasi menggunakan model Baron & Kenny menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar memediasi sebagian hubungan antara PBL dan hasil belajar. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa efektivitas PBL tidak hanya terletak pada penyelesaian proyek, tetapi juga pada kemampuannya menumbuhkan motivasi intrinsik siswa yang berdampak pada capaian akademik. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penerapan PBL sebagai pendekatan yang relevan dan efektif dalam pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar, khususnya dalam konteks implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan Project-Based Learning (PjBL) terhadap peningkatan keterampilan proses sains dan hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar di wilayah Riau. Penelitian menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group design yang melibatkan 60 siswa, terdiri dari 30 siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan 30 siswa pada kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes hasil belajar dan lembar observasi keterampilan proses sains. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan PjBL secara signifikan meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA, terbukti dari selisih nilai pretest dan posttest yang lebih tinggi pada kelas eksperimen dibandingkan kelas kontrol, serta nilai signifikansi uji statistik < 0,05. Selain itu, keterampilan proses sains siswa pada kelas eksperimen menunjukkan perkembangan yang konsisten pada setiap pertemuan, terutama pada kemampuan mengamati, mengklasifikasi, mengukur, memprediksi, dan menyimpulkan. Temuan penelitian mengonfirmasi bahwa PjBL efektif dalam menciptakan pengalaman belajar bermakna, kontekstual, dan mendukung peningkatan kemampuan ilmiah siswa sejak dini. Dengan demikian, PjBL layak dipertimbangkan sebagai alternatif model pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan pendekatan STEAM dalam pembelajaran IPA terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan pemahaman materi siswa sekolah dasar di Provinsi Riau. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V yang mengikuti pembelajaran IPA dengan pendekatan STEAM melalui kegiatan proyek yang mengintegrasikan unsur sains, teknologi, rekayasa, seni, dan matematika. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes, observasi, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, uji paired sample t-test, dan analisis N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada kemampuan berpikir kritis dan pemahaman materi siswa setelah penerapan pendekatan STEAM. Peningkatan ini terlihat dari hasil posttest yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan pretest dan diperkuat oleh hasil analisis statistik yang menunjukkan nilai signifikansi < 0,05. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran berbasis STEAM terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas proses dan hasil belajar IPA siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade students in Indonesian language learning. This study aims to improve the reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade students at UPT SDN 002 Tanjung. This study is a classroom action research, conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of two meetings. Based on the results of the research conducted through two cycles, in cycle I meeting 1, the number of students who completed the test was 36.8% with a very low category, and in cycle I meeting 2, the number of students who completed the test was 47.4% with a very low category. In cycle II meeting 1, the number of students who passed increased to 63.2% in the low category, and in cycle II meeting 2, the number of students who passed was 78.9% in the moderate category. Based on the results of this study, it can be seen that the application of the CIRC model with the help of pictures can improve the reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade students at UPT SDN 002 Tanjung in Indonesian language.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the critical thinking skills of fourth-grade students of UPT SD Negeri 003 Muara Uwai through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings. The subjects of the study were 15 fourth-grade students. Data collection techniques used observation, tests, and documentation. The instruments used were observation sheets of teacher and student activities and written critical thinking ability tests. The results of the study showed that the application of the PBL model was able to improve students' critical thinking skills. In the pre-action, the percentage of student completion was only 27% with an average score of 48.53. After the application of the PBL model in cycle I, the completion increased to 47% with an average score of 48.75. In cycle II, the completion increased further to 80% with an average score of 71.45. This increase indicates that the PBL model is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills, especially in the indicators of providing simple explanations, building basic skills and concluding, further explanations, and developing strategies and tactics.
