Abstract

Peran smartphone memiliki dampak signifikan terhadap di berbagai sektor, termasuk di bidang komunikasi. Penerapan smartphone dapat memudahkan komunikasi manusia,. Namun, Smartphone juga menimbulkan tantangan dalam hal bersosialisasi antar individu Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh Smartphone terhadap rasa sosialisasi, serta dampaknya bagi kehidpuan sosial. Pada mulanya, smartphone diperkenalkan sebagai alat komunikasi jarak jauh yang memudahkan untuk hubungan antarindividu. Namun, seiring dengan perkembangan zaman seperti aplikasi media sosial, platform pesan instan, dan berbagai fitur lainnya Namun, meskipun smartphone memperkaya interaksi online, penggunaannya yang berlebihan dapat menurunkan kualitas interaksi tatap muka dan mengurangi kedekatan emosional dalam hubungan sosial. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan keseimbangan dalam penggunaan smartphone agar tidak mengurangi nilai dari interaksi sosial secara langsung, Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan wawancara . Di satu sisi, smartphone memberikan kemudahan dalam berkomunikasi, mempererat hubungan, serta membuka peluang untuk membangun jaringan sosial yang lebih luas, baik secara lokal maupun global. Orang dapat tetap terhubung dengan teman, keluarga, dan kolega di mana pun mereka berada hanya dengan beberapa ketukan jari, Ada yang menilai bahwa smartphone dapat mendekatkan orang secara virtual, dan mereka justru bisa menjauhkan manusia dari interaksi fisik yang mendalam. Dengan latar belakang ini, penting untuk memahami lebih lanjut bagaimana peran smartphone dalam proses sosialisasi di era modern, baik dampak positif maupun negatifnya. Smartphone kini tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai alat komunikasi, tetapi juga sebagai sarana sosialisasi yang kompleks The role of smartphones has a significant impact on various sectors, including in the field of communication. However, along with the development of the era such as social media applications, instant messaging platforms, and various other features. However, although smartphones enrich online interactions, their excessive use can reduce the quality of face-to-face interactions and reduce emotional closeness in social relationships. Therefore, a balance is needed in the use of smartphones so as not to reduce the value of direct social interaction. The study used a qualitative method with interviews. On the one hand, smartphones provide convenience in communicating, strengthening relationships, and opening up opportunities to build wider social networks, both locally and globally. People can stay connected with friends, family, and colleagues wherever they are with just a few taps of their fingers. Some people think that smartphones can bring people closer virtually, and they can actually distance humans from deep physical interactions. With this background, it is important to further understand how smartphones play a role in the socialization process in the modern era, both positive and negative impacts. Abstract

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is concerned with the business activities of a substantial and complex system organization. Unlike other information systems implementation projects, ERP system implementation projects are unique. The scale, complexity, organizational impact, expenses associated with this project, and other effects that will result from project failure are some of the key differences. The findings of this study are expected to be taken into consideration for change management strategies that can have an impact on the effectiveness of ERP installations at the PTPN IV AJAMU 3panai jaya Finance Directorate. To anticipate the performance of the ERP system implementation program, the DICE framework and change management models are used as study references by scholars. The DICE framework can measure programmatic external manifestations, such as longevity, implementer honesty, and leadership and staff commitment. This study uses qualitative methods and gathers information through in-depth interviews and focus groups with workers who make up the main ERP implementation team. managed and understood effectively. Therefore, a company's competitiveness will increase if it manages change better, which will help it survive and maintain its effectiveness through change strategies and programs.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine students' views of Google Translate in English learning. The key challenge of this study is how do students perceive Google Translate as a translation tool in the online English learning process? Ten undergraduate students from Non-English department students at Universitas Prof Dr Hazairin SH were selected as research participants. The instruments used were questionnaire and interview. The current research attempts to address the distinction by investigating the manner in which Google translates support for non-English department students in learning English from the perspective of the students. Even though there are numerous drawbacks to employing Google Translate, students continue to perceive it as having more benefits than drawbacks. In addition to numerous benefits, the findings also indicated that Google Translate still encounters difficulties, such as inaccurate translations of the learner's intended meaning. Another finding indicated that in order to get improved translation, it is necessary to utilize online machine translation, particularly when translating lengthy sentences.  It may be inferred that the Google translation tool can be selected as the primary supplementary learning tool, especially for learning English.

Abstract

Generally, the purpose of  this research was to improve the writing learning process, namely how to implement English descriptive writing teaching using brainstorming techniques in the English Language Education Study Program, Prof. University. Dr. Hazairin S.H involving lecturers and students. Furthermore, the specific technique of this research aims to describe the use of brainstorming in writing descriptive English teaching and to found out the results of descriptive writing produced by students after using this brainstorming technique. This research was mixed research (mixed methods) with an Action Research design, where qualitative data mining will first be carried out to explore in depth how Brainstorming techniques can be applied in improving students' descriptive writing skills. Then proceed with quantitative data collection. The research results showed that there was an increase in students' English descriptive writing skills. This can be seen from the increase in scores from the pre test, Post test cycle I, and post test cycle II. The students' average score increased from 68.54 in the first cycle post test to 73.00 in the second cycle post test. From these results it can be concluded that the brainstorming technique is effective in improving students' English descriptive writing skills.

Abstract

The rapid integration of digital media in education has transformed teaching and learning processes, particularly in English language instruction. This reserach investigates students’ perceptions of the digital media utilized by English lecturers in teaching English, focusing on its effectiveness, accessibility, and impact on learning outcomes. Employing qualitative descriptive methodology data were collected through questionnaires and interviews. The results show that Spada Unihaz is the most frequently used media for learning English, with 80% usage. Students also use other platforms like Zoom, WhatsApp Group, and Google Classroom. Most students (95%) believe digital media helps improve their English skills, with 77.8% believing it improves speaking, 88.9% listening, 83.7% writing, and 82.2% reading skills. However, 85.4% of students face technical difficulties and lack of guidance. Despite these challenges, 95.3% of students prepared themselves before class and felt the facilities supported their learning process. However, challenges such as technical issues, inconsistent usage, and the digital divide were also highlighted. The reserach underscores the importance of selecting appropriate digital tools and offering adequate training to maximize their potential. These results have implications for English lecturers, suggesting the need for strategic integration of digital media in teaching practices to foster effective and inclusive language learning environments. The reserach concludes that while digital media is beneficial, it still presents challenges that need to be resolved for optimal effectiveness.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of the Merdeka (Independent) Curriculum for English subjects at the Islamic Junior High School (MTs) of Pancasila, Bengkulu, with a focus on assessing its effectiveness and identifying the challenges faced by educators and students. The Merdeka Curriculum, introduced to foster student-centered learning, critical thinking, and creativity, requires significant adaptation in schools with limited resources, diverse student backgrounds, and minimal teacher training. This research employs a mixed-methods approach, including surveys, interviews, and classroom observations, to examine the curriculum’s impact on teaching practices, student engagement, and language proficiency outcomes. The findings reveal that while the Merdeka Curriculum holds potential for enhancing English learning, its implementation faces significant obstacles. Teachers report challenges in aligning instructional methods with the curriculum's objectives due to a lack of professional development and teaching resources. Additionally, students' varied English proficiency levels further complicate curriculum application, necessitating frequent adjustments to lesson plans and assessment techniques. This study concludes that successful implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in English subjects requires increased training, clear guidelines, and better resource allocation to ensure that its goals are achieved effectively. The results contribute to ongoing discussions on curriculum reform in Indonesia, emphasizing the need for tailored support in resource-constrained educational settings.

Abstract

Pandemi covid-19 telah mengubah proses pembelajaran baik pada sisi belajar siswa ataupun sisi mengajar guru. Hal ini dikarenakan mayoritas belajar dilakukan dengan moda online atau dalam jaringan (daring). Siswa dituntut agar lebih bertanggung jawab pada proses belajarnya karena ketiadaan guru disamping mereka walau mereka tetap diberi penjelasan dan tugas secara daring agar tetap termonitor proses belajarnya. Guru dituntut agar menguasai pendekatan pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan perubahan yang terjadi, satu diantaranya adalah pendekatan pembelajaran self-directed learning. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PPM) FKIP Universitas Jambi telah dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk memberi pelatihan dan pemahaman mengenai pendekatan belajar Self-Directed Learning (SDL) kepada guru SMPN 1 Merangin. Dengan teknik penjelasan, pemberian contoh dan modelling, dan diakhiri dengan sesi tanya jawab, kegiatan pelatihan ini telah terlaksana dengan baik. Tindak lanjut dan refleksi dari peserta juga telah didapatkan melalui angket yang disebar melalui google form. Secara umum guru-guru peserta pelatihan telah mengerti konsep dasar dan karakteristik SDL. Dengan pemahaman tersebut mereka diharapkan bisa memaksimalkan potensi penerapan SDL dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar nantinya.

Abstract

Pelaksanan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keahlian guru SDIT Cahaya Hati Jambi dalam menyusun rencana pembelajaran tematik berdasarkan pengutan pendidikan karakter. Hal ini sejalan dengan peraturan presiden Nomor 87 Tahun 2017 tentang Pengutan Pendidikan Karakter (PPK). Pengetahuan bagaimana menyusun dan memasukkan poin-poin berbasis pendidikan karakter ke dalam RPP (Rencana Pelaksaan Pembelajaran) adalah penting bagi guru-guru di sekolah tersebut. Implikasi dari keakuratan poin-poin pendidikan karakter tersebut dapat memandu guru-guru di sekolah tersebut dalam proses pembelajaran para siswa berdasarkan jenjang kelasnya. Dengan adanya RPP tematik yang baik dapat membantu guru mengembangkan pembentukan karakter siswa dan juga kemampuan menyusun dan meramu nilai-nilai karakter yang tepat akan meningkantakan kompetensi dan profesionalisme guru dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of organizational culture, motivation with discipline as an intervening variable on the performance of employees at the Palembang city government service either partially or simultaneously. This research method uses quantitative method with expo Pacto approach . Data collection techniques using questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique used the SPSS For Windows Version 21 program. Based on the results of the study, it was found that organizational culture, motivation with discipline as an intervening variable had a positive and significant effect on employee performance at the Palembang city government service.

Abstract

This community service is intended to improve Indonesian society's Islamic banking and financial literacy. Community service is conducted through through hybrid Meetings (virtual and On-site) targeted at vocational high school students at Barokah Darurrohman Islamic Boarding School, Sukawangi, Bekasi. This community service is expected to increase the number of people who access and use Islamic financial and banking products through increasing Islamic financial and banking literacy so that, in the end, they can contribute to the growth and development of Indonesia's Islamic finance and banking industry. Based on the analysis that has been done, this community service activity can be declared to have been held successfully because the targets of material, activity objectives, and participants' mastery of the material have been successfully achieved.
