Abstract

This study investigates the semantic translation strategies employed in the meaning shifts of Charles Perrault’s fairy tale Les Souhaits Ridicules, translated into Indonesian. Utilizing a qualitative approach and Chesterman’s 1997 translation strategy theory, the research identified and classified semantic techniques including synonymy, paraphrasing, antonymy, converses, emphasis, distribution, and hyponymy shifts. Analysis of 92 data points conclusively revealed  that paraphrasing (43.48%) and synonymy (27.17%) were the most prevalent strategies, with emphasis shifts also significantly present (17.39%). These findings indicate that meaning shifts are executed functionally and adaptively, aiming to preserve acceptability and readability for young Indonesian readers without compromising the story’s moral message or narrative essence. By comparing these results with prior studies, this research offers a substantial contribution to the exploration of semantic strategies in children’s literature translation, underscoring the importance of translator flexibility and cultural sensitivity. The study’s limitations, particularly its scope and singular focus on semantic strategies, provide clear directions for future research into cross-linguistic and cross-cultural translation within the fairy tale genre.

Abstract

Dalam pembelajaran era 4.0, pendidik harus meningkatkan kemampuannya dalam memilih bahan ajar dan media agar pembelajaran efektif dan sesuai dengan perkembangannya. Salah satu media yang berkembang di era digital ini adalah bahan ajar elektronik. Selain itu, bahan ajar tersebut dapat dikembangkan menjadi komik elektronik yang berbentuk flipbook. Berdasarkan observasi yang dilakukan, pendidik belum mengenal proses digitaliasi bahan ajar dan mengembangkan media pembelajaran dalam bentuk komik elektronik yang dapat meningkatkan keterpahaman dan minat belajar peserta didik terhadap materi yang dipelajari. Tujuan dari program Pengabdian pada Masyarakat (PPM) ini adalah meningkatkan kemampuan pendidik SMP dalam memanfaatkan dan mengembangkan bahan ajar komik elektronik dengan aplikasi flipbook. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan PPM ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Adapun langkah-langkah pelaksanaan PPM ini adalah melaksanakan observasi; merencanakan tindakan; dan pelaksanaan pelatihan pembuatan bahan ajar, komik pembelajaran, dan melakukan simulasi digitalisasi bahan ajar melalui aplikasi flipbook. Hasil dari kegiatan ini terlihat bahwa pelatihan pemanfaatan dan pengembangan bahan ajar komik elektronik berbentuk flipbook kepada pendidik-pendidik SMP Mekarwangi ini sangat bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan kompetensi literasi teknologi pendidik dalam menghadapi tantangan sistem pembelajaran pascapandemi Covid-19.

Abstract

Meningkatnya kebutuhan energi listrik, sehingga pembangkit dituntut untuk memproduksi energi listrik secara terus-menerus yang menimbulkan resiko penurunan kinerja bahkan terjadinya kerusakan atau kegagalan. Keandalan kinerja unit pembangkit sangat besar perannya untuk memenuhi suplai energi listrik kepada pelanggan. Kondisi yang ada di lapangan menunjukkan beberapa gangguan mulai dari yang kecil hingga menyebabkan pembangkit harus keluar dari jaringan yang menyebabkan nilai indeks akan mengalami penurunan. Maka dengan ini diperlukan evaluasi kinerja pembangkit listrik sesuai dengan Protap Deklarasi Kondisi Pembangkit dan Indeks Kinerja Pembangkit. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji ataupun menganalisis pengaruh gangguan terhadap nilai indeks kinerja unit pembangkit di PLTA Lamajan Pangalengan pada tahun 2020 sampai dengan tahun 2022 dan memberikan solusi alternatif untuk meningkatkan nilai indeks kinerja pembangkit. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah dengan pendekatan secara deskriptif dan komparatif. Variabel-variabel yang akan dianalisis berupa Equivalent Availablity Factor (EAF) dan Net Capacity Factor (NCF) sebagai indeks kinerja pembangkit. Hasil temuan penelitian yang diperoleh di PLTA Lamajan Pangalengan menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata EAF tahun 2020 sebesar 38,17%, tahun 2021 sebesar 59,08%, dan tahun 2022 sebesar 59,84%. Menurut standar SPLN (80-85%) dan NERC (86,36%) untuk nilai EAF PLTA termasuk tidak handal. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata NCF tahun 2020 sebesar 43,91%, tahun 2021 sebesar 42,41% dan tahun 2022 sebesar 41,41%. Walaupun mengalami penurunan tetapi masih memenuhi standar SPLN (30-50%) dan NERC (38%). Faktor gangguan yang mempengaruhi kinerja unit pembangkit diantaranya adalah debit air yang tidak konstan sehingga berdampak kepada an penurunan pembangkit. Beberapa solusi untuk mengatasi gangguan tersebut, pihak terkait dapat melakukan normalisasi sungai, pergantian spare part komponen, dan maintenance routine.

Abstract

Mathematical ability is a core competence that students must master and develop in mathematics education. One instructional model considered effective for enhancing this competence is Problem-Based Learning (PBL), which positions students at the center of learning by engaging them in solving contextual and meaningful problems. Through these activities, students are encouraged to strengthen key mathematical skills, including conceptual understanding, reasoning, and problem-solving. This study aims to comprehensively analyze the impact of the PBL model on students’ mathematical abilities in Indonesia through a meta-analytic approach. A total of 30 studies were systematically reviewed following PRISMA guidelines. Data analysis was conducted using JASP to calculate the pooled effect size, the heterogeneity level, the forest plot, the funnel plot, and the potential publication bias. The meta-analysis produced a summary effect size of 1.132 (95% confidence interval: 0.873–1.390), indicating a large effect. The heterogeneity index (I²=83.26%) showed substantial differences across studies; therefore, a random-effects model was employed. Although the funnel plot showed slight asymmetry, the Fail-Safe N value of 9.29>1 indicated that publication bias did not substantially affect the results. Overall, the findings confirm that PBL has a significant and consistent positive effect on students’ mathematical abilities across various educational levels in Indonesia.

Abstract

Foreign language learning cannot be separated from cultural learning, as language reflects the values, norms, and social practices of its speakers. In French language learning in Indonesia, particularly in the Civilisation Française course, students often experience difficulties in understanding cultural materials that are complex and chronological, such as history, political systems, historical sites, and French traditions. These difficulties are also influenced by teacher-centered learning methods and the limited variety of instructional media, which results in low student interest and learning motivation. This study aims to develop a game-based learning medium in the form of a board game entitled “Bon Voyage!” as an alternative medium for learning French culture and to determine the validity and feasibility of the developed media. This study employs a Research and Development (R&D) method using the PPE (Planning, Production, and Evaluation) model. The Planning stage includes needs analysis and media design, the Production stage involves the development of the game board, culture cards, instruction manual, and supporting components, while the Evaluation stage is conducted through validation by subject-matter and media experts. The research instrument consists of validation sheets using a four-point Likert scale (1–4), and the data are analyzed quantitatively using percentage techniques. The results show that the “Bon Voyage!” board game achieved a feasibility percentage of 97.50% in the material aspect and 90.00% in the media aspect, both of which fall into the “very feasible” category. Therefore, the “Bon Voyage!” board game is considered valid and feasible for use as a learning medium in the Civilisation Française course.

Abstract

French literature education in Indonesian universities currently faces significant obstacles due to dependence on passive media (87.7%) and high linguistic barriers (77.2%) that make it difficult for students to understand the syntax and meaning of complex literary texts. This study aims to develop and test the feasibility of Francolittera, a web-based interactive learning medium designed to address these gaps. Using the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), this study involved 57 students in the needs analysis stage and 25 students in a limited operational trial. The evaluation instrument was developed by adapting the Learning Object Review Instrument (LORI) 2.0 framework. The result of the development is a web platform with a hierarchical material structure (period, author, work) that integrates asynchronous reflective review features with a curation system by administrators to maintain content and interaction quality. Based on the final evaluation on a scale of 1–5, the media was categorized as Very Suitable with an overall average score of 4.38, covering material expert validation (4.50), media expert validation (4.25), and user acceptability testing (4.40). These results indicate that Francolittera has the potential to support independent learning, as reflected in the level of user acceptance of the asynchronous reflective review feature, which facilitates interpretive understanding of literary works in the context of use without direct supervision.
