Abstract

Learning concentration is a critical factor influencing the success of the educational process. Without optimal concentration, students tend to absorb information poorly, negatively impacting their comprehension and academic achievement. Various factors can affect concentration, such as fatigue or tension due to the difficulty of learning materials. Therefore, an interactive and collaborative approach that meets students’ individual needs is essential in accounting education. This research explores the use of a combined approach using the Jigsaw method and Differentiated Instruction to enhance student concentration in learning. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) employed a qualitative approach and was conducted in two cycles. The results showed a 20% improvement in the cognitive domain - rising from 60% in cycle I to 80% in cycle II. Affective and psychomotor indicators also improved by 20% - from 50% in cycle I to 70% in cycle II. These findings indicate that combining the Jigsaw method with Differentiated Instruction can effectively enhance student concentration in accounting learning.

Abstract

Changes in blood pressure during hemodialysis is an important point that must be a concern. The occurrence of hypotension and intradialytic hypertension can have an impact on reducing the adequacy of dialysis, decreasing kidney function, and can even affect the patient's quality of life. Among the non-pharmacological interventions that are considered safe and effective in the management of intradialytic blood pressure control are intradialytic exercises, one of which is range of motion exercises for the extremities. To determine the effect of extremity joint range of motion exercises on intradialytic blood pressure control in hemodialysis patients. This research used a quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test control group design using cluster sampling with a purposive sampling technique with a sample size of 46 respondents (23 intervention and 23 control group respondents) with Wilcoxon test data analysis. in the intervention group the average systolic blood pressure before and after intradialytic exercise was -6.42mmHg, the diastolic blood pressure difference was -2.38mmHg with p value of systolic and diastolic blood pressure p=<0.05, In the control group systolic blood pressure p= 0.024 with a difference of 2.4, independent t test results mean systolic blood pressure 2.88mmHg and diastolic blood pressure mean 1.12mmHg with p value both P>0.05. Extremity joint range of motion exercises can affect blood pressure in the intervention group.

Abstract

Thalassemia major is a hematological single gene disorder that is inherited and can cause anemia in affected children, the impact of which in the world is a major public concern in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia. Indonesia is one of the countries in the thalassemia belt. In Indonesia, thalassemia major is more common and a serious health problem; about 3 – 10% of people carry the thalassemia gene due to abnormal hemoglobin production. More frequent visits to the hospital have a negative impact on children's lives in terms of physical burden, psychological burden and scholastic performance. The method used in this study is Literature review, method journal search using PICOT description and journal selection using Prism Diagram. Results of literature study in this study, the outcome as measured by PedsQL was quality of life. Questions were categorized into 4 domains: physical health, emotional health, family function and support and school and career functioning. In this study, we found that the HRQoL scores of TDT patients were higher in all dimensions compared to scores of similar studies. According to the results of several studies conducted, using the PedQL 4.0 instrument in pediatric and adolescent patients, either by distributing the instrument or by good interview technique. to patients and parents resulted in patients having a higher HRQoL in the psychosocial domain and the lowest in the education domain. This low value can be related to frequent visits to the hospital for blood transfusions or iron chelation therapy treatment so that children cannot go to school because of their perceived weakness and do not have sufficient energy to participate in school activities. So that children who do not go to school experience cognitive decline which has a negative impact on their quality of life.

Abstract

Installation of intravenous access in pediatric patients is a challenge. The DIVA scale is one of the predictive tools for determining difficult intravenous access. The purpose of this literature review is to analyze research articles on the application of the DIVA scale to determine difficult intravenous access in the installation of intravascular access in pediatric patients. This literature search was carried out on electronic databases such as Pubmed, Proquest and Google Scholar. Articles were selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Inclusion criteria are articles published in 2016 – 2021, articles can be accessed in full text with the subject of the DIVA scale in pediatrics. Based on a literature review of 3 articles, it was found that the DIVA scale can be used to detect difficult veins in the installation of intravenous access in pediatric patients. Implementing the DIVA scale is beneficial in reducing the amount of effort required for the installation of intravenous access. The conclusion from this literature study is that the DIVA scale can be modified and validated according to where the DIVA scale is used. DIVA score 4 increases failure of intravenous access in the first trial in pediatric patients.
