Abstract

Hydroponics is a method of farming that does not use soil as a growing medium, but only use water containing nutrients that plants need. One of the factors success of planting with this method is affected by how the owners do care for the plants. Primary the treatments are done to ensure the circulation of nutrients or watering is given a timely manner in sufficient quantities. There was a time hydroponic plant owners are not anywhere near the planting area so that is not directly taking care of the plants. In order for hydroponic plant owners will still be able to care for and monitor the environmental conditions of the plant although it is far from the planting site, the project in this paper provides an alternative solution to overcome these problems. Device made in this project combining the capabilities of arduino mega as a data acquisition system incorporating ethernet shield for data transmission through the Internet, DHT11 sensor to read the temperature and humidity, special applications android blynk as monitoring tools, and RTC for timing in realtime. Arduino Mega is also associated with ignition relay to set the sprinkler pumps or circulatory water. Based on testing conducted found that each module can work well according to its function. With the appropriate network quality testing (average delay to blynk server is 1242ms, obtained by the process of sending commands and execution watering and environmental data delivery takes about 1-2 minutes.

Abstract

In this post-era of Covid-19 there are many massive changes to the socio-economic happening around the world, especially when it comes with electronic or computer usage aspects. The lockdown laws and economic recession caused by the Covid-19 forces people to use their current electronic and/or computer for almost all of their lives aspects and because of that many of the personal data stored on their computers. Based on statistics that majority in 2022 still have an security ready computers, indicated by the lack of adoption or 55.6% did not upgrade the popular Computer OS Windows to Windows 11, which notoriously requires security ready equipped devices, and the cons of the lack of security specific feature on the hardware one of them is information sensitive is left unencrypted or user have to manually re-input the authentication that the user have for that information after every computer/electronic boot up. Which lead to this research of using computer identification from combination of hardware and software which creates a SHA512 hash fingerprint where it can be generated upon boot time and no need to persistently stored in an unencrypted form. As proof of concept the it is built on Linux system for easy understanding on how the system works, and tested to be successfully passed 7 out of 7 test points that is being tested. Abstract

This research aims to perform feature extraction on the dynamic characteristics on dynamic characteristic data on multisensor data. The training data consists of aroma recordings from 6 different species of mint at the Botanical Institute of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany, recorded using 12 different sensors. The dataset consists of 28,746 data points collected over a period of 175.52 minutes. The data underwent preprocessing to address spiking issues and standardize the data. Three testing stages were conducted, which are Performance testing of Feature Extraction using raw data, Performance testing of Feature Extraction using Piecewise Linear Regression (PLR) Data, and Performance testing of a Classification Model using the k-Nearest Neighbor (k-NN) algorithm. Feature Extraction was performed using the PCA technique to obtain Principal Component (PC) values of the reduced-dimensional data. For the Feature Extraction using raw data, PC1 had a value of 96.35% and PC2 had a value of 1.84%. Meanwhile, for the Feature Extraction using 12 PLR data, PC1 had a value of 95.95% and PC2 had a value of 1.88%. And for the Feature Extraction using 24 PLR data, PC1 had a value of 95.77% and PC2 had a value of 1.75%. The evaluation testing of the Feature Extraction results employed a machine learning model with the k-NN method. The training results showed that the k-NN model using raw data before PCA Feature Extraction achieved an Accuracy of 95.67% with a computation time of 0.3 seconds, and after PCA Feature Extraction, it achieved an Accuracy of 98.7% with a computation time of 0.19 seconds. In contrast, the k-NN model with 12 PLR Pre-processing before PCA Feature Extraction obtained an Accuracy of 56.67% with a computation time of 0.049 seconds, and after PCA Feature Extraction, it achieved an Accuracy of 85.83% with a computation time of 0.041seconds. Similarly, the k-NN model with 24 PLR Pre-processing before PCA Feature Extraction obtained an Accuracy of 61.67% with a computation time of 0.071 seconds, and after PCA Feature Extraction, it achieved an Accuracy of 90.21% with a computation time of 0.063 seconds. These results indicate that PCA Feature Extraction successfully improved the Accuracy of the prediction model, even when the data dimensions were reduced. Abstract

This research aims to develop a method for identifying gas types based on multisensor data using Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) in the context of Electronic Nose (E-Nose) application. The method utilizes Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) sensors that respond to changes in oscillation frequency to detect gases. The data used in this study were obtained from QCM sensor measurements on six species of mint at the Botanical Institute of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany, recorded by Shalih Okur. Through the training process using RNN models with ReLU and LeakyReLU activation functions, training accuracies of 98.84% with a computation time of 326 seconds (ReLU) and 97.78% with a computation time of 267 seconds (LeakyReLU) were achieved. Furthermore, in the identification phase, the RNN model achieved accuracies of 79% with a computation time of 10 seconds (ReLU) and 85% with a computation time of 4 seconds (LeakyReLU). These findings indicate the potential of the RNN method for gas type identification based on multisensor data, with a focus on QCM sensor usage. Thus, the results of this study demonstrate the effectiveness of the RNN method in identifying gas types based on multisensor data, particularly when utilizing QCM sensors. Abstract

Bacteria and viruses are rapidly spreading around the world with a significant mortality rate of 7.8 per cent. The spread and transmission of bacteria and viruses in closed environments is generally riskier than in open environments. To reduce this, technology was needed that technology that can overcome these problems through the innovation of an IoT-integrated air sterilizer to show air conditions in real time that can be accessed via a smartphone. This technology adopts 3 stages of filtration The latest filtration stages are HEPA Filter, UV-C, and ozone. ozone can destroy viruses and bacteria to cause damage to the DNA and RNA of the virus. DNA and RNA through the destruction of spike proteins and the lipid layer. One method to produce ozone uses the high voltage plasma method. Ozone administration with a concentration of 0.06 ppm-0.1 ppm can reduce viral andbacterial activity up to 3-log reduction. However, the use of ozone above 0.08 ppm can cause health problems in humans. In addition, it was found that O2 with a movement speed of 1.25 m/s with a voltage of 4.5-5 kV will produce ozone with a concentration of 0.061 ppm which is effective and safe for humans. In addition to the use of ozone, the use of UV-C light is able to break down RNA and DNA in the SARS-CoV-2 virus with a minimum energy of 5.92x1011 eV per second in a unit area of cm2. To produce this amount of photon energy, UV-C light with a wavelength of 209 nm can be obtained. Therefore, this scientific paper discusses the analysis of ozone generation with high voltage plasma and the analysis of photon energy emission in UV-C light that is effective in inactivating viruses and bacteria. Abstract

The emergence of a new signal transmission protocol is a consideration in choosing the type of connectivity to be used, especially on a GPS Tracker. This study aims to develop a design of GPS Tracker testing stages using GSM and LoRa connectivity and determine the value of Packet loss in sending data using GSM and LoRa connectivity on a GPS Tracker. This research includes Research and Development research that uses experimental techniques. The results of the analysis of data communication and GPS Tracker LoRa signal reception resulted in an average packet loss value of 10%, RSSI of -116 dBm, and SNR of 0.2 dB. The analysis of data communication and GPS Tracker GSM signal reception results in an average packet loss value of 0%, RSSI of -65 dBm, and SNR of 23 dB. GSM connectivity has better quality in Non-Line of Sight (NLOS) test conditions in urban areas than LoRa connectivity. The performance and distance between the LoRa gateway transmitter and BTS with receiver (GPS Tracker) have a high influence on the quality of data communication and signal reception. The farther the transmitter is from the receiver, the worse the quality of data communication and signal reception, and vice versa. Keywords: Connectivity, GSM, LoRa, GPS Tracker

Abstract

Indonesia, as the fourth most populous country in the world, faces serious challenges related to the issue of plastic waste. With a total population reaching 273.8 million in 2021, Indonesia is declared as the world's second largest contributor to plastic waste after China. Every year, approximately 3.2 million tons of plastic waste are poorly managed, with much of it ending up in the ocean. This is exacerbated by the low percentage of plastic waste recycling in Indonesia, which is less than 5%. One of the most common types of plastic waste is plastic bottles, particularly those made of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET). It is estimated that over 580 billion PET bottles were produced and consumed worldwide in 2021. Recognizing this, plastic waste, especially PET bottles, becomes a promising recycling target. Therefore, a PET filament maker machine made from recycled bottles was designed. This research focuses on designing a temperature control system for the hotend of the filament maker machine using recycled bottles. In this study, a PID controller was used with parameter determination using the Ziegler-Nichols method, specifically the first method known as the reaction curve method. The test results indicate that the temperature control system can function effectively in maintaining the system response according to the desired setpoint values, with PID controller parameter values of Kp = 27.51, Ki = 1.06, and Kd = 178.8. The system response has a settling time of 2,350 seconds, a steady-state error of 0.2%, an overshoot of 12.74%, and a recovery time of 71 seconds when subjected to disturbances. Keywords: temperature control, filament maker, PET, PID controller, Ziegler-Nichols
