Abstract

This study is prompted by the issue of bullying, particularly the presence of students who are subjected to such behavior. The objective of this research is twofold: 1) To depict the characteristics of students who are victims of bullying, and 2) To devise a plan for implementing individual counseling services grounded in a behavioral approach utilizing Assertive Training techniques for students who are victims of bullying. The research methodology employed in this study is descriptive analysis. The study population consists of 3 students from SMA N 8 Padang who have experienced bullying. Sampling was conducted using the Total Sampling technique, wherein all members of the population were included as samples, totaling 3 individuals. Data was collected through a questionnaire and subsequently analyzed using percentage classification. The findings of the research indicate that: 1) The portrayal of students who are victims of bullying falls within the fairly high category, and 2) The framework for executing individual counseling services based on a behavioral approach utilizing Assertive Training techniques, focusing on addressing physical and verbal bullying, has been developed based on the identified issues and findings from bullying theory. Based on the outcomes of this study, it is suggested that BK teachers implement individual counseling services employing Assertive Training techniques for students at SMA N 8 Padang to address the challenges faced by students who are victims of bullying, as outlined in this research.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of obstacles to students' learning motivation at school. The purpose of the research is to identify: 1) Internal factors, 2) External factors that influence students' learning motivation, 3) Behavioral counseling service plans with self-management techniques to overcome obstacles to learning motivation. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Key informants in this study were ZNC, additional informants were, (EW) homeroom teacher, (HR) BK teacher and (NAP) peers. The instrument used an interview format. For data analysis techniques using data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show: 1) Internal factors that influence students' learning motivation are physical conditions such as frequent daydreaming and lack of focus that interfere with learning concentration, interest in learning only arises when the teacher uses interesting media, positive perceptions of the importance of learning are not applied when learning, lack of acceptance from peers reduces self-confidence and motivation. 2) External factors that influence learning motivation are the lack of support from parents who are busy working, indifference from friends, and less than optimal attention from teachers, 3) Behavioral counseling service plans with self-management techniques are compiled from problem identification to help students regulate behavior independently and form adaptive responses in facing less supportive conditions. The results of this study are recommended to guidance and counseling teachers to be able to provide counseling services, especially self-management techniques with the following technical strategies: 1) self-monitoring, 2) stimulus control, 3) self-reward.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the various problems faced by children with special needs (ABK), particularly those with intellectual disabilities and autism, at the Autism Foundation Mitra Ananda Special Needs School (SLB), which include learning difficulties and barriers to social interaction. Initial observations indicated concentration problems, writing difficulties, poor conceptual understanding, and aggressive and isolating behavior. The focus of this research is to describe the learning and social problems experienced by ABK and to analyze the role of Guidance and Counseling (BK) services in addressing these issues. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with teachers and parents and direct observation of students. Data analysis utilized data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results indicate that ABK experience learning problems such as difficulty concentrating, slow writing, and poor mathematics comprehension. Socially, children with intellectual disabilities exhibit delayed responses but still desire to play, while children with autism tend to be solitary. The main findings revealed that although professional guidance and counseling services were not yet available, the role of guidance and counseling teachers was effectively carried out through praise, educational games, and decision-making guidance. It was concluded that the implementation of these non-professional guidance and counseling services was proven to help increase the independence, self-confidence, and social engagement of children with special needs at school. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya berbagai problematika yang dihadapi Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus (ABK), khususnya tunagrahita dan autis, di SLB Yayasan Autis Mitra Ananda, yang mencakup kesulitan belajar dan hambatan interaksi sosial. Observasi awal menunjukkan adanya masalah konsentrasi, kesulitan menulis, pemahaman konsep yang rendah, serta perilaku agresif dan isolasi diri. Fokus penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan problematika belajar dan sosial yang dialami ABK, serta menganalisis peran pelayanan Bimbingan Konseling (BK) dalam mengatasi masalah tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan guru dan orang tua serta observasi langsung terhadap siswa. Analisis data menggunakan teknik reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ABK mengalami problematika belajar seperti sulit konsentrasi, lambat menulis, dan rendahnya pemahaman matematika. Secara sosial, anak tunagrahita menunjukkan respons lambat namun masih berkeinginan bermain, sedangkan anak autis cenderung menyendiri. Temuan utama mengungkap bahwa meskipun layanan BK profesional belum tersedia, perannya telah dijalankan secara efektif oleh guru pendamping melalui pemberian pujian, permainan edukatif, dan bimbingan keputusan. Disimpulkan bahwa implementasi layanan BK non-profesional ini terbukti membantu meningkatkan kemandirian, kepercayaan diri, dan keterlibatan sosial ABK di sekolah.

Abstract

The phenomenon of parental divorce is one of the events that can have a significant psychological impact on adolescents, especially high school students. This condition often causes feelings of depression, decreased motivation to learn, and difficulties in adapting to the school environment. This study aims to: (1) Describe how students of SMA N 2 Lubuk Sikaping face the impact of parental divorce, (2) Determine the application of individual counseling in students of SMA N 2 Lubuk Sikaping, and (3) Examine the effectiveness of the application of individual counseling for students who experience the impact of parental divorce. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive data. The key informants in the study were one of the students (AJ), as well as three additional informants, namely homeroom teachers (NA), BK teachers (AF), and other students (AZ). Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. Data analysis is carried out through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that individual counseling plays an important role in helping students affected by parental divorce. BK teachers and homeroom teachers have worked together to provide emotional support and problem-solving strategies. This effort makes students more enthusiastic about learning, able to adapt, and motivated to achieve educational success

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon aggressive behavior in students from broken homes, which can interfere with their social and emotional development. The study aims to describe aggressive behavior before and after Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) counseling with cognitive disputing techniques, as well as test its effectiveness in reducing aggressive behavior. The research used an experimental method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. Samples were determined through purposive sampling techniques with a population of 14 people and a sample of 2 people, instruments in the form of questionnaires, and data analysis was carried out with percentage intervals and t- tests. The results showed that before counseling, aggressive behavior of students was in the high category, while after counseling with cognitive disputing techniques, aggressive behavior was in the low category. The results of the t-test showed a significant difference between before and after the intervention, proving the effectiveness of REBT counseling. This study recommends BK teachers to apply REBT counseling with cognitive disputing techniques as a strategy to reduce the aggressive behavior of broken home students at SMK Negeri 2 Bukittinggi.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of transactional analysis counseling using the empty chair technique to measure the level of assertiveness of students who are victims of bullying. However, some students who are victims of bullying at SMAN 1 Gunung Talang have low assertive behavior. This quantitative research with an experimental approach uses a one group pretest-posttest design. The sample is students who are victims of bullying with a low level of assertiveness. Measurements were carried out using questionnaire instruments and by conducting individual counseling with two treatment sessions or treatment with individual counseling using the empty chair technique. The research results showed a significant increase in the assertive behavior of students who were victims of bullying, with the average score increasing from 118 in the pretest to 178 in the posttest and a t-count of 0.0285 with a degree of freedom of 2. The t-test value was used to determine each independent variable against the dependent variable. If the t count ˃ t table or the significance value of the t test is 0.05 then it can be concluded that individually the independent variable has a significant effect on the dependent variable, then the explanation obtained is the sig value. (2-failed) = 0.0285 ˂ 0.05 means that this test is significant or that there is a difference in the average assertive behavior before and after carrying out transactional analysis counseling using the empty chair technique. This means that there is a significant difference from transactional analysis counseling using the empty chair technique to increase the assertive behavior of students who are victims of bullying

Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of several students who experience obstacles in their interest in participating in individual counseling. In addition, students do not understand the impact caused if obstacles to interest in participating in individual counseling are allowed, so that the learning process in the classroom does not run effectively and students become less focused because they harbor the problems they have. The purpose of this study is to find out the factors that affect students' interest in participating in individual counseling services, both from internal and external factors. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method. The research population was 323 students in class VIII, with purposive sampling techniques of 50 people, namely students who had participated in individual counseling. The instrument used was in the form of a questionnaire, and data analysis was carried out using percentages. The results showed that 1) internal factors that affect students' interest are in the category of quite high, and 2) external factors that affect students' interest in utilizing individual counseling are in the category of quite high (78%). This study recommends that BK teachers can increase students' interest in utilizing individual counseling services.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of students feeling shunned, lack of student participation in learning. The study aims to describe: student learning problems in the aspects of 1) personal, 2) social, 3) learning, 4) career, 5) design a service program based on identification of student problems at SMAN 1 Linggo Sari Baganti. As well as designing a program based on the analysis of problems faced by students. The type of research is descriptive quantitative. The population of this study were 355 students of SMAN 1 Linggo Sari Baganti. The sampling technique used a simple random sampling technique of 35 people. The instrument used was a questionnaire. Data analysis used a percentage technique. Based on the results of the study revealed that student problems in the fields of: 1) personal are in the moderate criteria 2) social are in the moderate criteria 3) learning are in the many criteria 4) career are in the many criteria 5) design of Guidance and Counseling Service Program. This information service focuses on time discipline and personal responsibility, wisely managing desires and finances, increasing motivation and enthusiasm for learning, and independence in decision-making. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that guidance and counseling teachers implement the program designed through this research.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the fact that students are unaware of their potential in terms of further study options. The objectives of this study are: 1) to identify the factors that influence students in making decisions about further study options from internal factors, 2) from external factors that influence students in making decisions about further study options. The type of research used is a quantitative descriptive method. The study population consists of 320 students. The sample was selected using simple random sampling, resulting in 92 respondents. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire with interval data analysis. Based on the research results, it was found that 1) Internal factors influencing students in making decisions about further education are numerous, including intelligence, knowledge, special talents, interests, and life values. 2) External factors influencing students in making decisions about further education are numerous, including family socioeconomic status, education, community, peers, and extended family influence. Based on the research findings, it is recommended that guidance counselors develop comprehensive and responsive counseling services tailored to students' needs. Guidance counselors should provide structured information about educational pathways and career prospects, as well as implement career counseling services based on interests and talents.

Abstract

This research is based on the suboptimal collaboration between guidance and counseling teachers (BK) and teachers of the subject of Helping Students in Having Learning Difficulties. The purpose of this study is to describe the collaboration between BK teachers and subject teachers in Helping Students with Learning Difficulties, which is reviewed from: Forms of collaboration, and Challenges of collaboration. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive data. The key informants in this study were BK teachers (VAP) and subject teachers (SEM), as well as 2 additional informants, namely student representatives (DP), and homeroom teachers (RD). The data collection technique is carried out through interviews and observations, while the data analysis technique uses the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out on the collaboration of BK teachers and subject teachers in helping students with learning difficulties at SMP Negeri 30 Padang, it shows that the form of collaboration between BK teachers and subject teachers in helping students with learning difficulties is communication, namely communication including informal and formal communication, providing information to each other and exchanging information, both short discussions after class hours, or via WhatsApp. The challenge of collaboration between BK teachers and subject teachers in helping students with learning difficulties is differences in views, lack of communication and time constraints. Collaboration also has an impact on improving teacher professionalism and the overall quality of the learning environment. BK teachers are expected to help students with learning difficulties. Subject teachers are expected to proactively coordinate with BK teachers and integrate the values of learning difficulties problems in learning. The school is expected to provide facility and training support, as well as students who are active in learning difficulties.
