Abstract

Instagram has been present in all aspects of society's life without exception, this also happens to regional organizations originating from Massenrempulu, Enrekang Regency, the Massenrempulu Student Association (HPMM) UIN Alauddin Makassar Commissariat. Where the existence of Instagram as an information center can facilitate the performance of the HPMM Kom Management. UINAlauddin Makassar in publishing information and also as a medium to improve the organization's image. This research aims to find out and describe how Instagram is used and what the advantages and disadvantages are of using Instagram among HPMM Kom Management. UIN Alauddin Makassar as a source of information. Using Instagram is very helpful and beneficial for users because with Instagram we can find out about events or events that occur in society. Several advantages, specifically allowing HPMM Kom administrators. UIN Alauddin Makassar to be successful in publicizing activities via Instagram social media includes having good mastery of information technology. The ability to operate the Instagram platform and understand the various features and tools provided is a strong basis for compiling and presenting interesting content. The first inhibiting factor is the very limited facilities and equipment that are expected to support publication activities and the second is the classic problem related to the budget.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a comic creation guide specifically designed for art and design students to enhance their creative and technical skills. Comics, as a medium of expression integrating visual and narrative elements, offer significant potential for dynamically conveying ideas. However, students often face challenges in creating structured and communicative comics due to the lack of guides relevant to academic needs. This research employs a research and development (R&D) method with a project-based approach. The guide is designed to encompass the stages of pre-production, production, and post-production, integrating theory and practice. Product validation shows that 85% of students found the guide helpful in understanding the comic creation process comprehensively, while 90% stated that the visualizations in the guide facilitated their understanding of the material. The research output, a Comic Creation Guidebook, is expected to serve as an effective reference for art and design education and contribute to the literature on visual arts education.

Abstract

Data from the Central Statistics Agency (Badan Pusat Statistik) records that until 2020, there were 130,743 companies providing construction services in Indonesia. This large number results in tight competition in attracting clients. Competition became more complex during the Covid-19 pandemic which resulted in companies providing construction services experiencing difficulties, one of which was the Artekindo Group which was founded in the city of Jayapura, Papua province. This research aims to find out and describe strategiesMarketing Public Relations which is used in forming or building the Artekindo Group company image so that it can survive amidst the intense competition that is currently occurring. The object of this research is strategyMarketing Public Relations in forming or building a company image. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with data collection methods in the form of interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique consists of three flows, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. This research shows the results that strategyMarketing Public Relations What Artekindo Group applies in forming its image is:pull strategy, push strategy, andpower strategy. The three strategies implemented have proven successful in making Artekindo Group survive and able to gain clients even in difficult conditions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi persepsi masyarakat melalui edukasi berupa poster tentang aturan penataan alat peraga kampanye, serta meningkatkan kesadaran mengenai dampak lingkungan perkotaan dari sampah visual yang dihasilkan oleh media promosi luar ruangan, seperti spanduk yang dipasang tanpa izin pada pemilu 2024. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan melakukan wawancara kepada masyarakat di Kota Makassar dan Kabupaten Gowa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Pemasangan baliho yang berlebihan dan tidak teratur sepanjang jalan menyebabkan masalah sampah visual; (2) Banyak baliho yang dipasang tidak mematuhi aturan yang telah ditetapkan; (3) Persepsi masyarakat menunjukkan bahwa baliho dan spanduk yang dipasang menjelang pemilihan tidak hanya mengganggu estetika kota, tetapi juga berbahaya karena menghalangi beberapa fungsi jalan dan rambu lalu lintas. Penelitian ini menyarankan solusi berupa metode pemasangan baliho dan promosi yang lebih ramah lingkungan melalui poster edukasi, guna meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat dan mengurangi dampak sampah visual. Dengan demikian, diharapkan dapat meminimalisir dampak negatif dan memberikan solusi untuk masalah yang terus berlanjut menjelang kontestasi politik di Indonesia. Kata Kunci: Persepsi Masyarakat, Sampah Visual, Media Promosi Luar Ruangan, Pemilu, Lingkungan.

Abstract

The Communication Science Dictionary application was created to meet the independent learning needs of students studying the field of Communication Science. During the creation stage, the application was tested on a limited basis on students taking Communication Science courses in the Visual Communication Design study program, Makassar State University. The trial phase was continued by measuring the level of student satisfaction using the EUCS method (End User Computing Satisfaction), the results show that in terms of content, accuracy, form, ease of use, and timeliness, the application meets user satisfaction. The results of the trial and measuring the level of satisfaction became the basis for carrying out this socialization activity targeting Communication Science study program students at three other universities spread across three different provinces, namely at Muhammadiyah University of Papua, Muhammadiyah University of Buton, and Mbojo Bima University. Previously, the Communication Science Dictionary application had never been socialized and no similar application had ever been used at the three universities. The participatory method is the method applied in this service activity, where Communication Science study program students at the three universities are actively involved in using the application through smartphone each of them during the socialization activities. The result of this service is that students have independent learning media to understand various terms in the field of Communication Science.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi masyarakat melalui edukasi berupa poster yang menjelaskan tentang aturan penatan alat peraga kampanye. Serta memberikan kesadaran kepada masyarakat tentang dampak lingkungan perkotaan dari keberadaan sampah visual berupa media promosi luar ruangan, seperti spanduk-spanduk yang dipasang tanpa izin dari pemerintah pada pemilu tahun 2024. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif qualitatif dengan melakukan interview kepada masyarakat di Kota Makassar dan Kabupaten Gowa. Hasil peneltian menunjukan (1) pemasangan baliho secara berlebihan disepanjang jalan dan tidak teratur hingga menjadi sampah visual; (2) banyak baliho yang terpasang tidak mengikuti aturan yang ditetapkan; (3) persepsi Masyarakat terhadap baliho dan spanduk yang dipasang menjelang pemilihan tidak hanya mengganggu keindahan kota, tapi sudah berbahaya karena menghalangi beberapa fungsi jalan dan rambu lalu lintas. Penelitian ini memberikan gambaran dan solusi berupa metode pemasangan baliho atau promosi diri yang lebih ramah lingkungan, melalui poster poster edukasi masyarakat agar kesadaran masyarakat ikut meningkat dan mampu menjadi bagian dari perubahan. Sehingga dampak sampah bisa terminimalisir, dan menjadi solusi dari permaslahan yang terus berlanjut menjelang kontestasi politik di Tanah air.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has brought about significant changes in people's communication patterns, especially through social media. Unfortunately, this progress is not always accompanied by an adequate understanding of contemporary communication issues in the digital space. This community service activity aims to provide a broader understanding of contemporary communication issues to the general public, especially related to disability, gender, regulation, and fandom. Activities are carried out on an online platform by Google Meeting and organized by Rumah Baca Akkitanawa, Palopo, with participants from various backgrounds and domiciles, including from Eastern Indonesia such as Papua. The material was delivered through an interactive presentation followed by a reflective discussion session to explore the views and experiences of the participants. The results of the activity showed that many people still need further understanding regarding contemporary communication issues, especially in the realm of social media. As a solution, participants are equipped with critical thinking skills on these issues. Further service can be carried out in the form of practical training in the wise use of communication technology and the creation of educational modules for local communities, in order to strengthen sustainable digital awareness.

Abstract

Transformasi pendidikan di era digital menuntut guru untuk berperan sebagai fasilitator pembelajaran yang kreatif dan adaptif terhadap teknologi. Salah satu tantangan utama yang dihadapi adalah rendahnya literasi digital dan keterampilan dalam membuat media pembelajaran yang menarik, khususnya di daerah dengan akses teknologi terbatas. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan dalam bentuk kajian literatur sistematis terhadap tujuh artikel pengabdian yang membahas pelatihan penggunaan Canva sebagai sarana peningkatan kompetensi digital guru. Kajian ini menggunakan analisis isi tematik untuk menyusun sintesis manfaat, pendekatan pelaksanaan, dan tantangan dari pelatihan tersebut. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan Canva secara konsisten meningkatkan kepercayaan diri guru dalam penggunaan teknologi, kemampuan membuat media ajar visual yang menarik, serta kreativitas dalam proses pembelajaran. Selain itu, pelatihan ini juga memberikan dampak positif tidak langsung terhadap keterlibatan siswa dan kualitas pembelajaran. Di wilayah 3T, Canva menjadi sarana pemberdayaan guru yang efektif dan inklusif. Temuan ini memberikan dasar konseptual dan panduan praktis bagi institusi pendidikan dalam merancang pelatihan serupa yang berkelanjutan dan aplikatif.

Abstract

Understanding student motivation is essential for promoting engagement, persistence, and academic success. Motivation influences how students approach learning tasks, manage challenges, and sustain their efforts over time. This study employed a quantitative descriptive method, utilizing a survey with an 18-item online questionnaire on a five-point Likert Scale as the primary data collection instrument. The respondents were 169 higher education students in Rengat town, selected using simple random sampling. Data were analyzed descriptively, including frequency counts, percentages, mean scores, and standard deviation. The main findings indicated that most of the students’ overall motivation was categorized into "good". Sub-factors rated as "excellent" included students’ passion and desire to succeed, students’ encouragement and need for learning, students’ hopes and aspirations for the future, and students’ appreciation in learning. Sub-factors categorized as "good" were students’ interesting activities in learning and students’ conducive learning environment. The study found that most higher education students demonstrated good motivation, with several key motivational sub-factors showing excellent levels. This research offers valuable insights for educators aiming to enhance student engagement and academic success in higher education.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) aims to translate religious knowledge into consistent practice, with prayer (salat) as a key outcome. However, a significant value-action gap often persists. This study investigated the mechanisms through which PAI learning influences Dhuhr prayer performance among Grade VII students at SMP Negeri 4 Rengat, Indonesia. A sequential explanatory mixed-methods design was employed, framing the analysis through the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). Quantitative data from all 52 students revealed that while the direct effect of PAI learning on prayer was weak, a model incorporating TPB constructs was highly significant, explaining 51.2% of the variance. Perceived Behavioral Control (PBC) was the strongest predictor (β = .59, p < .001), followed by Subjective Norms. Attitude was not a significant unique predictor. Qualitative interviews and observations with a sub-sample clarified that PBC was undermined by practical barriers like lack of confidence in prayer movements and social distractions, while norms operated through peer influence. The findings demonstrate that the PAI-prayer relationship is not direct but is critically mediated by students' perceived control and social environment. This necessitates a pedagogical shift beyond knowledge delivery towards interventions that build practical competency, scaffold habit formation, and cultivate supportive peer networks to bridge the gap between religious learning and lived practice.
