Abstract

This study aims to measure the effect of application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) based module to critical thinking skill and student learning independence related to reaction rate material. PBL-based module is a module that can make students think actively in searching and finding answers from a problem. This type of research is an experiment. The research design used is posttest design and sampling technique using purposive sampling. The research instruments used were: cognitive test to measure students' critical thinking skill, questionnaire of learning independence, and questionnaire of student response to learning. Quantitative analysis result of experiment class score is 77,49 with 25 complete student from 28 students and control class has average 73,62 with 22 students complete from 29 students. Correlation test obtained correlation number of 0.37 and test the coefficient of determination obtained a number of 14.31%. Qualitative analysis found that overall showed that the experimental class was better than the control class. Thus it is concluded that the application of PBL-based module affect the improvement of critical thinking skills and student independence learning.

Abstract

This study aims to design a diagnostic test instrument misconceptions of Reduction and Oxidation reaction (redox) methods of Three-Tier Multiple Choice by developing Redox Diagnostic Test (RDT) software. The use of RDT can produce diagnostic test results of students' understanding immediately after the process of testing work. The understanding profiles experienced by the students in each class can be automatically captured so that the understanding of students' understanding time becomes shorter than the manual way. Although the testing work is done online, students cannot access the software outside the school computer lab so as to avoid the student dishonesty in the test. The research method used is Research and Development (R & D). The research model adopted in the Four-D development model with the research stage that is, define, design, develop, and dissemination. The result of content validation gets a score of 47 is on a very feasible criterion, so also media validation get score 28,5 is at very reasonable criteria. The results of the analysis of the level of understanding show that the test instrument using RDT software can diagnose understanding students well. Based on the small and large scale test set 19 item questions used in the test instrument. The result of instruments reliability test on the large-scale test by using KR-21 formula is 0,72 which belongs to a good category.

Abstract

Science learning aims to help students to be able to master the knowledge of scientific order. Science learning will be more meaningful for students, if students have good literacy skills. Someone has scientific literacy skills that can both understand and communicate science, and applying science knowledge in solving problems, and can make decisions based on scientific considerations. The results of international research show that the literacy rate of Indonesian students is in the low category. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of SETS learning to improve students' scientific literacy skills. The design of this study used quasi experimental with non-equivalent control group design. In general, the results of the study show that the effectiveness of SETS learning can be seen based on student learning outcomes in the experimental class showing better than control class students and increasing scientific literacy skills in each of the relatively high categories. Science literacy skills in the interaction of science, technology, and society experienced the highest increase in ability compared to other scientific literacy categories.

Abstract

The background of this research is less optimal learning of science grade IV of elementary school in Tugu subdistrict semester I of academic year 2017/2018. Students have not shown a good scientific attitude so that science learning achievement is not optimal yet. The classical passing grade of science is still less than 85%. For the same case, other researchers have applied a quantum teaching model with multiple intelligences to improve learning outcomes. The aim of this research is to know the impact of multiple intelligences approach through quantum teaching model to scientific attitude and science learning outcomes in the  fourth grade student on plant part structure material. This research was conducted at the SDN Tugurejo 01 and the SDN Tugurejo 03 Semarang academic year 2016/2017. This research method is true experimental design with pretest-posttest control group design model. The sampling technique chosen is probability sampling with simple random sampling model. The result on scientific attitude of experimental class is 78,4% belongs to a good category while the passing grade of science learning is 87,9% with average score 81. Result on scientific attitude of control class 70,97% belongs to medium category while passing grade of science learning 81.3% with an average of 76. The conclusion of this study is learning by multiple intelligences approach through quantum teaching model more effective to improve scientific attitudes and science learning outcomes than learning by quantum teaching model.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility, validity and effectiveness of science learning materials based on discovery learning to improve learning outcomes and student curiosity. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study. The model used in this study is the 4D model consists of four stages of development, namely Define (defining), Design (design), Develop (development), and Disseminate (spread). The method used in this research is observation, questionnaire, test, and documentation. The feasibility of teaching materials is obtained from the response of students and teachers to teaching materials. The validity of teaching materials is obtained from the validation of media and material experts. Effectiveness is measured by student learning outcomes and increased curiosity. The results of the study showed that discovery learning based science materials were developed appropriate, valid and effective to improve learning outcomes and students' curiosity. The N-Gain results were 0.71 with a high level of achievement, and the percentage of students' increasing curiosity attitudes was 70.12%, 79.69% and 82.03%. The results of the study concluded that science learning materials based on discovery learning were developed effectively to improve learning outcomes and students' curiosity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of science process skills towards grade IV elementary school student science learning using a socio-cultural inquiry model. This research type is Quasy Experimental Design with the form of non-equivalent control group design. The sampling technique used is the type of Cluster Random Sampling. The result of n-gain analysis shows that the Inquiry in the observing, classifying, communicating, and inferring aspect control class gets 0.10; 0.07; 0.09, and -0.08. All aspects of the science process skills are in the low category, while using the socio-cultural Inquiry class observing aspects get 0.61 medium category, classifying get 0.45 as medium category, communicating get 0.26 as low category, and inferring to get 0.30 as low category. The results of the t-test show the difference in the average results of the science process skills on the observing with the result of Sig. (2-tailed)  of 0.004 < 0.05 and tvalue of 2.94 > ttable = 2.04. Aspect classifying Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.015 < 0.05 and tvalue of 2.49 > ttable = 2.04. Inferring aspects Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.042 < 0.05 and tvalue of 2.07 > ttable = 2.04. But in the aspect of communicating there is no difference in the average learning outcomes of science process skills between the experimental group and the control group with the results of Sig.  (2-tailed) of 0.321 > 0.05 and tvalue 1.000 < ttable = 2.04. The conclusions of this study are the results of the science process skills of the experimental group are higher than the results of the control process of science process skills.

Abstract

This research was conducted with descriptive method to determine the results of assessment criteria for learning outcomes instrument in chemistry subject of class XI. The test include the analysis of the validity, difficulty index, level of matter, distractor effectiveness and reliability of the odd semester final examination in the academic year 2013/2014 chemistry subjects at a Public Senior High School of Ambarawa and a Public Islamic Senior High School of Suruh. Form of matter that is analyzed is multiple choice, with total 40 items. Based on the test results in Public Senior High School of Ambarawa, it is known that 27 items valid, by about C1/know up to C3/apply level. There are 3 tems was difficult, 12 items medium, and 25 items easy. Of the total 160 existing distractor items, 89 items classified distractor effective. Instruments classified as reliable because it has a reliability coefficient of 0.70. While the test results in Public Islamic Senior High School of Suruh, 28 items were classified as valid items by about C1/know up to C4/analyze level. There are 10 items was medium and 30 items easy. Effective distractor was 91 items. Instruments classified as reliable because it has a reliability coefficient of 0.81.Keywords: Assessment, Criteria, Instrument

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research and Development (R&D). Tahapan rancangan pengembangan media flash ini menggunakan langkah prosedural oleh Borg and Gall. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keefektifan pada ranah kognitif, afektif dan psikomotorik dalam penggunaan media flash berbasis pembelajaran inkuiri. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi, tes, angket dan dokumentasi. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Produk pengembangan dinyatakan valid dan layak apabila telah memenuhi kriteria baik atau sangat baik dari validator. Produk pengembangan teruji untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa yaitu diuji berdasarkan penggunaan media flash pada proses pembelajaran. Hasil pengembangan produk media flash berbasis pembelajaran inkuiri dinyatakan valid dengan kategori baik dan layak diterapkan berdasarkan uji kelayakan oleh ahli media dan ahli materi dengan skor rata-rata ahli media 73.5 dan ahli materi 37. Media flash dinyatakan efektif karena 36 siswa mencapai nilai KKM pada hasil tes, dengan nilai n-gain 0,71 dan pada aspek afektif dan psikomotorik termasuk dalam kategori baik, serta mendapat respon positif dari penggunanya dilihat dari angket tanggapan siswa, sehingga media flash efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. The research include in Research and Development (R&D). This step of flash media development uses procedural step by Borg and Gall. The purpose of this research is to know the effectiveness in the cognitive, afective, and psychomotoric domain in using flash media based on inquiry learning. Data accumulation in this research uses observation, test, questionaire and documentation methods. The result data of this research is analyzed by using quantitative descriptive analysis method. Development product is called valid and proper if it has fullfilled good or very good criteria from the validator. The development product proved to improve the learning outcome that is proved base on the using of flash media in learning process. The development result of flash media product based inquiry learning is called valid with good and proper category is implemented base on properness test by media and matery expert with average score of media expert is 73,5 and matery expert is 37. The flash media is called effective because 36 students gain minimum campetence criteria (KKM) score in test result, with n-gain score is 0,71 and afective and psychomotoric aspect include in good category, and also get a positive respond from user that can be seen by the students responds questionare, so flash media is effective to improve the students learning outcome.

Abstract

Pembelajaran  bermakna merupakan  suatu  proses  yang mengaitkan  informasi baru pada konsep relevan yang terdapat dalam struktur kognitif seseorang. Pembelajaran elaborasi merupakan  salah  satu  pembelajaran  bermakna  yang mengaktifkan  kognitif siswa sehingga memudahkan dalam memahami konsep-konsep baru. Untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran elaborasi dilakukan eksperimen dengan mengambil sampel dari kelas X secara cluster random sampling, sedangkan metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes, observasi dan angket. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, hasil belajar kelompok eksperimen  lebih  baik  dari  pada  kelompok  kontrol,  yang  berarti  pembelajaran  elaborasi berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar kimia pada materi hidrokarbon kelas X di SMA Negeri 11 Semarang. Besarnya pengaruh pembelajaran elaborasi 13,7465% dan tergolong rendah. Secara  keseluruhan,  hasil  belajar  afektif  dan  psikomotorik  kelompok  eksperimen  lebih baik dari hasil belajar kelompok kontrol, sedangkan hasil angket refl eksi siswa terhadap pembelajaran, siswa senang dengan pembelajaran elaborasi. Kata Kunci : pembelajaran elaborasi, hasil belajar

Abstract

Berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi yang sangat penting diajarkan kepada siswa.Inkuiridapatdijadikansebagaisalahsatupendekatan yang dapatmewadahipengembangankemampuanberpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar hidrolisis garam bermuatan karakter berbasis inkuiri terbimbing untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan desain one-group pre-test post-test design. Prosedur pengembangan yang digunakan meliputi (1) pendefinisian (define), (2) perencanaan (design), (3) pengembangan (develop). Subjekimplementasi pada penelitianiniadalahsiswakelas XI SMANegeri 1 Mandor (Kalimantan Barat)tahunpelajaran 2014/2015.Instrumen dalam penelitian ini meliputi: (1) instrumen lembar wawancara guru (analisis kebutuhan); (2) instrumen penilaian/uji ahli terhadap produk bahan ajar yang dikembangkan; (3) instrumen soal tes kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa materi hidrolisis garam; (4) instrumen lembar observasi afektif siswa; (6) instrumen lembar observasi psikomotor siswa; dan (7) instrumen lembar angket respon siswa.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar hidrolisis garam bermuatan karakter berbasis inkuiri terbimbing yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria valid dan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa secara signifikan, serta mendapat respon positif dari siswa.
