Abstract

This research is motivated by the competence of the Mathematics teacher of Dumai Junior High School which is below the national average value. This study aims to analyze how much influence of achievement motivation, teacher participation, and teacher participation in MGMP together on teacher competence. To achieve this goal, this paper used a survey research type with a quantitative approach. The research population was all Mathematics teachers of Dumai for Middle School who had participated in the 2015 UKG, totaling 88 people. With the total sampling technique, the entire population was determined as a sample. The data analysis used is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The results showed that there was a positive and significant influence of achievement motivation on the competence of Mathematics teachers by 26.3%. There is a positive and significant effect of teacher participation in the MGMP on the competence of Junior High School Mathematics teacher by 22.5%. There is a jointly significant effect of 30.8% achievement motivation and teacher participation. The achievement motivation variable has a greater influence than the teacher participation variable. This means that the high and low competence of junior high school mathematics teachers in Dumai can be influenced by achievement motivation and teacher participation in MGMP.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to repair the mathematic learning process of Initial Value Matter and Boundary Requirement (IVMBR) course. The variables which have been examined (1) the activities of lecturer and students in learning process, (2) the development of student grades, and (3) the completeness of student result in studying of IVBVP. These actions have been done in three cycles based on data’s analysis, we get the result (1) the lecturer and students activities in learning process have been improved, (2) the development of student grades is rather the same in three of the cycles, and (3) the student who could reach the studying completely. After first cycle, these students get A or B increasing to 62,50,`4%, and after second cycle, the completeness of study has increased to 66,67%, and after third cycle, the completeness of studying have increased to 75,00%. Based on these informations, the constrctivism learning is good to use in learing of IVMBR course.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran interaktif materi segiempat dan segitiga berbasis model discovery learning yang valid dan praktis untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan pemahaman matematis (KPM) siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah design research tipe development studies, yang terdiri dari dua tahap yaitu prelimininary evaluation dan formative evaluation. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan meliputi validasi media pembelajaran, angket respon siswa, observasi, dan wawancara. Penelitian ini melibatkan siswa kelas VIII MTsN 1 Kuansing yang terdiri dari tiga siswa kelas VIII.2 sebagai subjek uji coba one to one dan dua belas siswa kelas VIII.1 sebagai subjek uji coba small group. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan komentar ahli pada tahapan expert review, media interaktif dinyatakan sangat valid, baik dari aspek bahasa, tampilan, isi dan KPM. Dari hasil one to one diperoleh bahwa media pembelajaran interaktif secara umum sudah baik dan bisa diuji cobakan untuk tahap small group. Selanjutnya, implementasi media interaktif pada tahap small group menunjukkan kepraktisan media interaktif dengan kriteria sangat praktis. Hal ini terlihat dari media interaktif yang mudah digunakan oleh siswa, mudah dibaca, serta siswa dapat dengan mudah mengakses media interaktif dimana dan kapan saja, sehingga media tersebut dapat digunakan untuk memfasilitasi KPM siswa.

Abstract

Kemampuan penalaran matematis (KPM) diperlukan dan menjadi dasar dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan KPM, karena penalaran matematis dan pembelajaran matematika adalah dua hal yang berkaitan. Menyelesaikan suatu masalah matematis dibutuhkan penalaran dan kemampuan penalaran dapat dipelajari dari belajar matematika. Rendahnya KPM dapat dilihat dalam materi geometri sehingga dibutuhkan sebuah inovasi untuk mengembangkan KPM peserta didik. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dapat membantu KPM semakin berkembang salah satunya ialah menggunakan LKPD berbasis metode SQ3R yang merupakan singkatan dari lima langkah yaitu survey, question, read, recite, dan review. Penelitian yang digunakan berjenis penelitian pengembangan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE. Model ini merupakan singkatan dari tahapan-tahapannya, yaitu tahap Analysis (Analisis), Design (Perancangan), Development (Pengembangan), Implementation (Implementasi), Evaluation (Evaluasi). Pada tahap Implementation dilakukan ujicoba produk berupa ujicoba satu-satu dan ujicoba kelompok kecil. Penelitian yang diterapkan kepada subjek ujicoba, yaitu peserta didik di MTs Negeri 2 Kuantan Singingi. Analisis data dilakukan ada dua yaitu analisis data secara kuantitatif dan juga kualitatif. Hasil dari penelitian yang diperoleh menyatakan jika LKPD materi garis dan sudut berbasis SQ3R untuk memfasilitasi KPM mendapat kategori sangat valid dengan nilai rata-rata akhir sebesar 90,5% dan mendapat kategori sangat praktis dengan nilai rata-rata akhir sebesar 93,45%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKPD materi garis dan sudut untuk memfasilitasi KPM telah memperoleh kategori valid dan praktis untuk diterapkan

Abstract

Paradigma pembelajaran abad 21 menuntut peserta didik untuk dapat berpikir kritis, namun fakta menunjukkan kemampuan bepikir kritis matematis (KBKM) peserta didik masih rendah terutama pada materi perbandingan. Salah satu upaya untuk mengatasi hal tersebut dengan menggunakan LKPD Elektronik (LKPD-el) berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan permasalahan berkonteks Budaya Melayu. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan dan menghasilkan LKPD-el yang berkualitas baik. Adapun metode penelitian ialah design research yang meliputi dua tahapan preliminary research dan formative evaluation. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKPD-el yang dikembangkan sudah memenuhi kriteria valid dari aspek isi (content), bahasa, tampilan, dan dari potensi umtuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis. Kemudian berdasarkan angket respon peserta didik, LKPD-el yang dikembangkan juga sudah memenuhi kriteria praktis. Akhirnya dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKPD-el yang dikembangkan sudah sangat baik. Dengan kata lain LKPD-el layak dan praktis digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran dan berpotensi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis peserta didik.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) determine the effect of computer knowledge on the effectiveness of teachers' work, (2) innovative attitudes affect the effectiveness of teachers' work, (3) computer knowledge and innovative attitudes jointly affect the effectiveness of teachers' work. Research respondents were teachers of SMPN Langgam Subdistrict, Pelalawan Regency, totaling 100 people with a sample of 89. The data was collected through the distribution of questionnaires. The data analysis used is descriptive analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The instrument reliability coefficient was calculated using the Cronbach alpha formula. The results showed that there was a positive and significant effect of computer knowledge on teacher work effectiveness of 0.558, and there was a positive and significant influence of innovative attitudes on teacher work effectiveness of 0.525. Meanwhile, together there is the effect of computer knowledge and work motivation on the effectiveness of the teacher's work of 0.677.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop an E-Module on Line and Angle material with learning videos to facilitate the mathematical understanding ability of seventh-grade junior high school students that meets the aspects of validity and practicality requirements. This study was a research and development method with a 4D development model consisting of the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The small group trial subjects were nine students of grade VII at a Junior High School in  Pekanbaru. The data collection instrument in this study consisted of a validity instrument in the form of a validation sheet and a practical instrument in the form of a student response questionnaire sheet. Based on the analysis of the validation sheet data and student response questionnaire sheets, the average E-Module validation was 3.6 with a very valid category, and the E-Module practicality average was 3.3 with a very practical category. Thus, it can be concluded that the developed E-Module is valid and practical.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate student errors based on Newman's Theory when solving SPLDV questions. Newman's Theory classifies errors into five types: reading errors, understanding errors, transformation errors, process skill errors, and final answer errors. The qualitative descriptive method was used in this study. The research subjects were twenty-four students from class IX at SMPN 2 Kampar. Tests and interviews were used as data collection techniques. The instrument used was in the form of five test questions with proven validity. The data analysis technique of this research used data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The analysis of student errors when answering SPLDV questions revealed that 6.92% of students made reading mistakes, 11.84% made understanding mistakes, 17.16% made a transformation error, 32% made a process skill error, and 31.62% made a final answer writing error. The most common mistake students made was a process skill error of 32%.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of students' mathematical critical thinking skills and the limited learning tools with problem-based learning models to facilitate students' mathematical critical thinking skills used by teachers (Syllabus, RPP, and LAS) as a means of supporting learning in the 2013 Curriculum and fostering the ability to think mathematical critical. This research aims to produce a learning device based on the Model of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on the probability material that is valid and practical to grow students' mathematical critical thinking skills. The model of development used is the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The subjects of one-to-one evaluation in this study were three 9th-grade SMP IT Aufia Global Islamic Boarding School and six heterogeneous students as small group evaluation subjects. The data analysis technique that will be carried out in this study is descriptive analysis technique. The Instruments used include (1) Syllabus, lesson plans, and student activity sheet validation sheets; and (2) a Questionnaire for student response to Student activity sheets. The learning tools that have been compiled are then validated by three validators and revised according to suggestions from the validators. The learning device is said to be valid if the level of validity achieved is at a value The validation results from three validators show that the syllabus, lesson plans, and student activity sheet are very valid, with the average score in a row 3.82, 3.74, and 3.55. Student activity sheet practicality shows an average percentage of 92,06% with efficient criteria. The results of this study indicate that the learning based on Model Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on the probability material is very valid and significantly grows students' mathematical critical thinking skills.
