Abstract

The ontology of pesantren education is to build the lives of the student with Islamic values because the contents of pesantren education are Islamic doctrine. The epistemology of pesantren education is a method/approach to develop education in pesantren, so that in its axiological aspect can creating individuals who are noble, removes the paradigm of the dichotomy of science, changes indoctrination into participatory, builds a theoretical approach towards an applicative approach, combining a harmonious relationship between reason and revelation, useful knowledge, scientific charity, piety, and noble. The education of pesantren in the modern era needs to prepare learning media to support the achievement of educational goals. In the perspective of Islam, the universe is a medium of learning, included in this category is the media of technology. It’s just that the role of the teacher needs to be prioritized so there is no dehumanization in education.

Abstract

Coastal communities frequently encounter complex and interrelated challenges, including limited religious literacy that may shape socio-religious practices in ways that are not fully aligned with normative Islamic legal principles. In the Lebuk Coastal Region, insufficient understanding of family fiqh has contributed to socio-religious practices that potentially diverge from established sharia provisions. Addressing this gap, this community service program aimed to strengthen community literacy in family fiqh through a structured, systematic, and sustainable mentoring framework. The program was implemented using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) design, encompassing iterative phases of preparation, action, and evaluation. This approach ensured meaningful community participation at every stage of the intervention, enabling collaborative problem identification, context-sensitive learning, and continuous improvement of the mentoring process. Empirical findings indicate a statistically significant enhancement in participants’ understanding, as reflected in the significance level below 0.05 calculated using IBM SPSS Statistics 26. These results substantiate the effectiveness of the staged mentoring model. The fundamental, progressive, and intensive mentoring framework grounded in PAR, therefore, demonstrates strong practical efficacy and offers a transferable model for communities with comparable socio-religious characteristics.

Abstract

Derasnya arus globalisasi dan tantangan modernitas yang seringkali memunculkan dikotomi antara ilmu agama dan ilmu sains, dunia pendidikan Islam dituntut untuk menghadirkan paradigma baru yang mampu menyatukan keduanya dalam kerangka epistemologis yang utuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis paradigma Integrasi Keilmuan Twin Towers UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya sebagai model konseptual yang menggabungkan ilmu agama (naqliyah) dan ilmu sains (aqliyah) dalam satu kesatuan epistemologis dalam perspektif al-Ghazali dan Syed Naquib al-Attas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan kajian literatur serta wawancara dengan pengelola program studi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa simbol dua menara kembar yang dihubungkan dengan jembatan epistemologis tidak hanya bersifat arsitektural, melainkan menjadi kerangka konseptual pendidikan Islam yang menegaskan keterpaduan antara sains dan agama. Paradigma ini selaras dengan pemikiran klasik Imam al-Ghazali yang menekankan keseimbangan intelektual, moral, dan spiritual, serta pemikiran kontemporer Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas mengenai pentingnya adab dalam ilmu pengetahuan. Implementasi paradigma ini terlihat pada kurikulum, pengajaran, riset interdisipliner, hingga pengabdian masyarakat. Kesimpulannya, model Twin Towers merupakan inovasi strategis dalam menjawab dikotomi ilmu sekaligus tantangan global modernitas, serta berkontribusi pada lahirnya lulusan yang beradab, religius, dan progresif.
