Abstract

Berbuka puasa dengan tinggi karbohidrat, lipid, dan rendah serat maupun aktifitas fisik masih banyak terlihat di masyarakat yang menjalankannya. Efek yang ditimbulkannya adalah pembentukan dislipidemia yang berhubungan dengan gangguan jantung, hipertensi dan stroke. Puasa yang dilakukan dengan gizi seimbang dapat sebagai terapi untuk menjaga kesehatan. Tujuan Pengabdian Masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan dengan menjaga kesehatan selama puasa dengan gizi seimbang pada Ibu-ibu Kader Posyandu Dasawisma Rt 04 Tanjung Barat Jakarta. Metode pelaksanaan dengan mitra sebanyak 32 orang, memberikan penyuluhan pemberian pengetahuan menjaga kesehatan dengan gizi seimbang selama puasa dan pengisian quesionare sebelum dan sesudah pelaksanaan dan mengukur indeks massa tubuh (IMT),. Hasil menunjukkan IMT normal 31,25 % , kegemukan 46,88 % dan obesitas 21,87 %, dan  terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan tentang menjaga kesehatan selama puasa dengan gizi seimbang. Pemberian gizi seimbang pada saat puasa dapat meningkatkan kesehatan tubuh.

Abstract

Dental caries is a major disease in problems in the oral cavity especially in the teeth. The main cause of dental caries is the bacterium Streptococcus mutans which is a normal inhabitant of the oral cavity. Dental caries can be overcome using a mouthwash preparation containing antibacterial substances. Pineapple skin (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr) is one of the plants that contains substances that have antibacterial activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the physical quality and stability, and activity antibacterial of mouthwash pineapple skin extract. Pineapple skin extract was made in three mouthwash formulations using various concentrations of glycerin 5%, 10%, and 15%. Mouthwash were tested for physical quality and stability. Antibacterial activity test against Streptococcus mutans ATCC 25175 using the well method. The data obtained are presented in the form of tables and graphs processed with SPSS ver22 with the Paired T-Test method for testing viscosity and testing pH and ANOVA for measuring the diameter of the inhibition zone. The results showed that mouthwash preparations in all formulas with organoleptic physical qualities, viscosity, and stability produced good preparations, while in testing the physical quality of the pH did not meet the pH requirements of mouthwash preparations because of the influence of pineapple skin extract (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr). In testing the antibacterial activity of mouthwash, the diameter of the inhibition zone was obtained the base 0 mm; F1 11.08 mm; F2 13.08 mm; F3 15.08 mm; and control positive 16,75 mm.

Abstract

Paracetamol gummy candy is a chewy candy that is composed of a mixture of sweeteners and hydrocolloid components containing paracetamol and is designed to crumble and melt on the tongue. This study aims to see the effect of variations in the concentration of gelatin and glycerin on the physical quality of paracetamol gummy candy preparations, and to determine the best concentration of gelatin and glycerin to obtain paracetamol gummy candy preparations with optimum physical properties. Preparation of the preparation using the casting method and using 8 formula designs from Design Expert Simplex Lattice Design with a ratio of gelatin and glycerin concentrations. The results of the physical quality test with the critical parameters of elasticity and moisture content were analyzed using the Simplex Lattice Design method. This method can be used to optimize the dosage formula in various variations in the amount of material composition, so as to produce the optimum formula with the expected physical characteristics. The results showed that gelatin had more effect on elasticity and glycerin had more effect on the water content of paracetamol gummy candy. The proportions of gelatin 998,723 mg and glycerin 51.277 mg resulted in the optimum formula with the best elasticity and water content of gummy candy paracetamol.

Abstract

The active compounds contained in the rhizome of kencur (Kaempferia galanga Linn.) include alkaloids, flavonoids, and tannins which are used as antifungals. This study aims to determine the effect of variations of stearic acid and triethanolamine on the physical quality and stability of cream preparations and their activity against Candida albicans ATCC 10231 and cream formulation formulas with the best physical quality and have antifungal activity. Kencur rhizome extract was obtained by maceration using 70% ethanol and formulated with an extract concentration of 12% and variations of stearic acid and triethanolamine with a ratio of (10:7, 13:5, 16:3). The formulation of the cream preparation was carried out by mixing the oil phase and the water phase and then physical quality was carried out including organoleptic tests, homogeneity, spreadability, adhesion, pH, viscosity, and Cycling test. This study used the disc diffusion method to determine antifungal activity and one way ANOVA for statistical analysis. The results showed that the diameter of the extract inhibition zone was 13.17 mm. Variations of stearic acid and triethanolamine affect the physical quality and antifungal activity of cream preparations. Cream preparations have antifungal activity against Candida albicans ATCC 10231. The best formula is formula 1 with variations of stearic acid : triethanolamine (10:7) which has the best physical quality, with an inhibition zone diameter of 13.00 mm which is strong in inhibiting fungal growth.

Abstract

The dosage form of paracetamol gummy candy has several advantages compared to other paracetamol preparations circulating in Indonesia, including fast onset, high bioavailability, pleasant taste, practical to use, easy to serve, acceptable to children, so can increase the impact of taking the drug. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of varying concentrations of gelatin and carrageenan on the elasticity, pH and air content of paracetamol gummy candy preparations and to determine the proportion of gelatin and carrageenan in the optimum formula using the Simplex Lattice Design method. The paracetamol gummy candy formula design from Design Expert SLD produced 8 runs with varying concentrations of gelatin and carrageenan. Critical parameters in determining the optimum formula include elasticity, pH and air content. Validation of the analytical method for testing the uniformity of paracetamol content of gummy candy using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer includes the parameters of accuracy, precision, specificity, linearity, LOD and LOQ. The researchers discovered that the amount of gelatin and carrageenan in paracetamol gummy candy preparations affected the elasticity, pH, and water content. Carrageenan has a dominant influence on boosting pH and water content, while gelatin has a dominant effect on improving flexibility. The best formula had 599,226 mg of gelatin and 400,774 mg of carrageenan.

Abstract

Spirulina platensis, a blue-green algae abundant in tropical regions, is rich in minerals, vitamins, fibers, and pigments, with low nucleic acid content. It has unique chromoproteins called phycobiliproteins, notably phycocyanin, used in various applications. This study aims to optimize phycocyanin extraction using different solvents (distilled water and sodium phosphate buffer pH 6.7) and methods (freeze-thaw and sonication). Spirulina platensis biomass was extracted in both solvents, then some of them was freeze for 24 and 48 hours followed by thawing overnight. The other was sonicated for 2.5 minutes, 50 Hz then soaked for 1, 2, and 3 hours. All of the samples were centrifuged at 6000 rpm for 10 minutes and the absorbance was measured using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at wavelengths of 280, 620, and 650 nm. with freeze-thawing for 48 hours yielded the highest phycocyanin concentration (0.55%), with a yield of 11.07 and purity of 0.21. Sonication improved phycocyanin concentration, yield, and purity significantly, yielding 1.108, 25.85, and 0.26, respectively.

Abstract

Penatalaksanaan non-farmakologi farmakologis dapat diatasidengan distraksi, posisition, lingkungan, massage, hipnotis,akupuntur. Secara farmakologis dengan menggunakan obat-obatananalgesik misalnya, skopalamin, narkotika, obat sedativa, mengatasidisminorea dengan cara lain yaitu mendengarkan musik.Mendengarkan musik di lingkunganyang cukup tenang dengan posisirileks diyakinidapat menurunkan keluhan dismenorea. Penelitian inibertujuan untuk untuk mengetahuai pengaruh musik klasik mozartterhadap tingkat nyeri dismenorea primer pada siswi kelas VIII SMPN 01 Klaten. Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian iniadalah quasi eksperiment dan rancangan penelitian one-group pretest post test design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semuasiswi kelas VIII yang mengalami disminorea di SMP N 01 Klaten.Jumlah sampel 7 siswi. teknik sampling purposive sampling dananalisa data menggunakan Wilcoxon. Karakteristik responden dalampenelitian ini adalah umur responden 12-14 tahun, sebagian besardari suku Jawa, lama dismenorea termasuk dalam kategori lama dandurasi dismenorea adalah jarang. Ada pengaruh musik klasik mozartterhadap tingkat nyeri dismenorea primer di SMP N 1 Klaten dengannilai p value = 0,000.

Abstract

Penyakit paru seperti penyakit paru obstruktif kronis (PPOK), tuberkulosis, dan gangguan restriktif masih menjadi masalah kesehatan masyarakat yang signifikan di Indonesia. Ibu rumah tangga merupakan kelompok yang rentan karena sering terpapar polusi udara dalam ruangan, termasuk asap dapur, asap rokok, dan pembakaran bahan bakar biomassa yang digunakan untuk memasak. Paparan jangka panjang terhadap faktor tersebut dapat menyebabkan penurunan fungsi paru yang sering kali tidak disadari karena gejalanya muncul secara perlahan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran, pengetahuan, serta kemampuan deteksi dini gangguan fungsi paru melalui edukasi kesehatan dan pemeriksaan spirometri pada ibu rumah tangga di Kelurahan Pondok Petir, Kota Depok. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) yang meliputi tahap perencanaan kegiatan, penyuluhan kesehatan tentang penyakit paru, demonstrasi penggunaan alat spirometri, pemeriksaan fungsi paru secara individual, serta evaluasi dan tindak lanjut hasil. Sebanyak sepuluh peserta mengikuti pemeriksaan spirometri, dengan hasil 50% mengalami restriksi ringan, 10% restriksi sedang, dan 40% tidak menunjukkan gangguan ventilasi paru. Hasil ini menunjukkan adanya indikasi awal penurunan fungsi paru yang memerlukan perhatian lebih lanjut. Kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta mengenai faktor risiko penyakit paru, pentingnya ventilasi rumah, serta kebiasaan hidup sehat. Program ini mendukung penguatan upaya promotif dan preventif kesehatan pernapasan sesuai dengan kebijakan nasional Program Indonesia Sehat dengan Pendekatan Keluarga (PIS-PK).

Abstract

Phycocyanin, a natural blue pigment from Spirulina platensis, exhibits strong antioxidant activity but is highly unstable under light, heat, and pH variations, limiting its practical applications. This experimental study addresses the lack of systematic optimization data on maltodextrin–soy protein isolate (SPI) wall matrices for phycocyanin microencapsulation via freeze-drying. Phycocyanin was extracted using phosphate buffer and encapsulated at different maltodextrin:SPI ratios (9:1, 8:2, and 7:3). Each formulation was analyzed in triplicate (n = 3) for encapsulation efficiency (EE), phycocyanin retention, moisture content, particle size, and antioxidant activity (DPPH assay). The 8:2 ratio exhibited the best performance with EE of 88.5%, phycocyanin content of 0.710 mg·mL⁻¹, and particle size of 70.2 µm. Moderate antioxidant activity was observed (IC₅₀ = 102.29 ppm). ANOVA confirmed that the polymer ratio significantly affected all parameters (p < 0.05). Overall, the optimized maltodextrin–SPI microcapsules enhanced the stability and antioxidant functionality of phycocyanin under laboratory conditions, supporting their potential application as bioactive ingredients in functional food and pharmaceutical formulations.
