The background of this research is motivated by the shy students comprehension of mathematical concept class VIII SMPN 1 Bayang academic year 2013/2014. This study aims to determine whether students math concept comprehension by applying Active Learning types of Learning Starts With a Question better than student math concept comprehension with conventional learning. This type of research is experimental with the population of grade VIII SMPN1 Bayang academic year 2013/2014. Technique of random sampling, with VIII.1 as experimental class and VIII.3 as control class . Instrument used in this study is a test of  math concept comprehension in the form of essays with a reliability test R11 = 0,75 , data analysis technique used is the one party t test with the help of software MINITAB. Based on the analysis of data obtained by the average post-test experimental class students is 76.26 higher than the control class it is 63.65 and the classes is normally distributed samples at significance level (α) = 0,05. From the results obtained hypothesis test p-value = 0,005 , then the hypothesis in this study received , so it can be concluded that the students  math concept comprehension by learning the type of Active Learning types of Learning Starts With a Question better than the students math concept comprehension with conventional learning in class VIII SMPN1 Bayang academic year 2013/2014.

This research is motivated by the students understanding of mathematical concepts are still low and less active students in learning activities. This study aims to determine the activity of student learning and understanding of mathematical concepts students ability to apply active learning strategy College Ball better type of student understanding of mathematical concepts that apply conventional learning in class VIII MTsN Pekan Selasa. This type of research is experimental research, the design of randomized trials on the subject. The population in this study were eighth grade students MTsN Pekan Selasa consists of three classes. Technique of random sampling, the sample is selected as the class as a class ,  as experimental and control classes. The instrument used in this study was the observation sheet and forms used test is the essay. Data analysis techniques are used to test the hypothesis is not a party with the help of MINITAB software. Based on the analysis of the data found that the two classes are normally distributed and homogeneous samples, then the hypothesis in this study received . Based on the observation that the analysis sheet from one meeting to meeting four activity increased student learning. It can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts that apply learning to use active learning strategies College Ball type better understanding of the mathematical concepts that students applying conventional learning in class VIII MTsN Pekan Selasa.

The research is based on by less unusually students discuss and construct knowledge received during the learning process, and students low of comprehension of mathematical concept. The research aims to determine students comprehension of mathematical concept by applying cooperative learning Think-Pair-Square better than the students comprehension of mathematical concepts with conventional teaching 8th grade students of State Junior High School 11 Padang. This type of research is experimental research on the subject with a random design. The population is 8th grade students of State Junior High School 11 Padang academic year 2012/2013. Class selected sample is VIII.G class as the experimental class and the control class VIII.B class. The research instrument was the final test in the form of essay test reliability is 0.79084. Hypothesis testing using one side of t-test. Based on the analysis of data obtained thitung=2,83 is less than ttable=1,64, so it can be concluded that the students comprehension of mathematical concept that apply cooperative learning model Think-Pair-Square is better than students comprehension of mathematical concept that apply conventional learning model in class VIII SMP 11 Padang.

The research based on the math grade VII SMPN 5 Padang that still low because it does not focus on learning and the learning atmosphere was not conducive and teachers rarely provide a conclusion at the end of the study. This research aims to find out if the results of the study of mathematics student with implementing strategi Genius Learning better than on the results of learning math students that apply to conventional learning at Class VII SMPN 5 Padang.A kind of this research is research experiments, population in this research is all the student Class VII SMPN 5 Padang academic year 2011/2012 as many as six local. The sample in this research is grade VII.7 as class experiments and student VII.8 as the class of the control. Instrument in research is written in the form of essay test with reliability = 0.76. data analysis techniques used are test-t party.Analysis of data performed with the help of software MINITAB, obnaited P-value = 0,007 smaller than standard α = 0,05.When.So inferred result learned mathematics student by applying strategy Genius Learning is better than learning the math student who apply learning conventional on class VII SMPN 5 Padang.

The research was motivated by the studentâs comprehension of math concept and  interes to ask orally are still low at SMPN 27 of Padang. This research aims to determine the studentâs comprehension of math concept that apply active learning strategies Learning Starts With a Question (LSQ) type better than studentâs comprehension of math concept that apply conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 27  of Padang. The type of research is experimental by using Randomized Control Group Only Design. The instrumen was used is end test by comprehension of math. The data analysis technique used is T-Test one part. The result of hypothesis test obtained T-Value is 2,12, it is bigger than T-table that is 1,645, then the hypothesis in this research received. In conclusion, studentsâs comprehension of math concept that apply active learning strategies Learning Starts With a Question (LSQ) type better than studentâs comprehension of math concept that apply conventional learning at class VIII SMPN 27 of Padang.

ABSTRACT This research was conducted due to the studentsâ low understanding on mathematics concept in class XI IPA of SMAN 13 Padang. This was intended to reveal whether the use of Quick on the Draw technique could improve the studentsâ understanding on mathematics concept better than that of the conventional learning. This was an experimental class. The population of the research was all of students in class XI IPA of SMAN 13 Padang registered in Academic Year 2013/2014. The data was collected by administering a test whose reliability was 0,858. The result of hypothesis test indicated that P-value = 0,014 < α (0,05) meaning that the hypothesis was accepted. At last, it was concluded that the use of Quick on the Draw technique could improve the studentsâ understanding on mathematics concept better than that of the conventional learning.

ABSTRACT The background from this research is a low comprehension students mathematic concept at SMPN 2 Bayang. This is caused by system of student learning over memorization so students are easier to forget about the materials provided. This research aims to description the development of math students activity and to know that students math concept comprehension by applying active learning strategies (GQGA) better than students math concept comprehension using conventional teaching class VIII SMPN 2 Bayang. This type of research was experiment. The instrument is acomprehension students mathematics test like essay with reliability test is 0,9186. Data analysis was performed using Minitab test the obtained P-value = 0.026 so the research hypothesis is accepted. so it can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts that use active learning strategy type (GQGA) better than conventional learning eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Bayang.

ABSTRACTThis research was motivated by the students understanding on mathematics concept that still low thus causing students mathematics learning outcomes also becomes low. This research was aimed at revealing whether the use of cooperative learning and asking questions circulate hat techniques better effect on the studentsâ understanding on mathematics concept than the conventional one in class VIII of SMPN 23 Padang. This was an experimental research which used random research design toward the subject. Population in this research is all class student of VIII SMPN 23 Padang. Technique intake of sampel conductedat random, choosen as class of sampel is VIII1 as experiment class and of VIII3 as control class. The instrument used in this research is a test in studentsâ understanding on mathematics concept with a reliability test r11 = 0.88 . The data  was analyzed by using t-test. . Based on the result of data analysis known that thitung = 5,37 and ttabel = 1,669 with α = 0.05. So thitung > ttabel it can be concluded that the application  of students understanding of mathematical concepts by implementing cooperative learning and asking questions circulate hat techniques are better effect on the studentsâ understanding on mathematics concept than a conventional one .

ABSTRACT This research were motivated by students comprehension of mathematical concept and studentsâ motivation to learn mathematics that still low. The purpose of this research were to determine whether studentsâ comprehension of mathematical concept by implementing course review horey methods was better than implementing conventional learning and to determine studentsâ motivation to learn mathematics after implementing course review horey methods in class VIII of SMP Negeri 14 Padang. This was an experimental research which used purposive sampling. The sample was VIII.6 as experiment class and VIII.4 as control class. The instrument used were final test and motivation questionnaire. The data  were analyzed by using t-test for final test and percentage techniques for motivation questionnaire. Based on the result of data analysis, it was revealed that sample has normally distributed and homogeneus. Hypothesis test results obtained that  was greater than  then  was rejected. Questionnaire analysis result obtained that score of all indicators with positive statement was increased. It can be conclude that studentsâ comprehension of mathematical concept by implementing course review horey methods was better than implementing conventional learning and studentâs motivation after implementing course review horey method was increased in class VIII.6 of SMP Negeri 14 Padang school year 2013/2014.

ABSTRACT The background of this research is the comprehension of the studentsâ mathematical concept that are still low. Not only that, but also the process of learning is still contred to the teacher it self. The purpose of this research  is to know about comprehension of the studentsâ mathematical concept by applaying Market technique toward comprehension of mathematical concept is better than studentsâ conventional learning at the eight grade SMPN 1 Sipora Kabupaten kep.Mentawai. The kind of this research is experiment reserch. The population of this research is the eighth grade students of SMPN 1 Sipora Kep. Mentawai who registered in 2012/2013 academic year. The sample classes that choosen are two  classes, where VIII.1class as class experimental class and the VIII.2 is control class. The instrument of this research is the concept comprehension test in essay that has reliability 0,8883. Based on the data analysis, mean of  experimental class was 80,61 and class control was 71,03. can  concluded that the comprehension of the studentsâ mathematical concept by applaying the market technique toward comprehension of  mathematical concept is better than conventional learning at the eight grade SMPN 1 Sipora Kabupaten Kepulauan Mentawai.
