Abstract

Databases play a crucial role in supporting the management of student data, educators, curriculum, finance, and educational evaluation in a structured and integrated manner. However, in practice, Islamic educational institutions still face several challenges, including limited digital literacy among human resources, suboptimal data management, and resistance to technological change. This discussion highlights that database management is not only related to technical aspects but is also strongly influenced by the quality of Islamic educational management, which includes planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. Therefore, strong managerial roles, effective leadership, and continuous support are required to optimize the use of information systems and databases in improving the quality of management and Islamic education.

Abstract

Manajemen informasi dan basis data merupakan aspek penting dalam tata kelola lembaga pendidikan Islam di era digital. Namun implementasinya menghadapi sejumlah permasalahan, baik dari segi teknis, sumber daya manusia, maupun aspek kebijakan. Penelitian dan pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa banyak lembaga pendidikan Islam masih menghadapi keterbatasan infrastruktur, rendahnya literasi digital tenaga pendidik dan kependidikan, hingga lemahnya sistem keamanan data. Permasalahan ini berdampak pada kualitas pengambilan keputusan dan efektivitas tata kelola lembaga. Tulisan ini membahas permasalahan utama dalam manajemen dan basis data serta menawarkan solusi berupa sistem digitalisasi, peningkatan kapasitas SDM, dan penguatan regulasi berbasis nilai-nilai Islam.

Abstract

Research in the field of education plays a crucial role in improving the quality of learning and supporting evidence-based decision-making. The selection of an appropriate research method greatly determines the accuracy of the findings, especially when the objective is to measure causal relationships between variables. In Islamic Religious Education (PAI), research is needed to assess the impact of learning approaches on students’ knowledge, attitudes, and religious behavior. This study examines the relevance of the causal comparative (ex post facto) method in PAI research through a literature review. This method enables researchers to evaluate differences in learning outcomes based on natural treatments that have occurred without manipulating the independent variables, making it suitable for religious education contexts. The findings indicate that the causal comparative method is effective in analyzing the influence of worship habituation, memorization, and role-modeling on religious outcomes, and serves as a strategic alternative when experimental designs are not feasible.
