Abstract

Chikungunya is a disease caused by the Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) which is characterized by symptoms of high fever and very severe joint pain. The first Chikungunya case that occurred in Indonesia was in Samarinda City in 1973 and was recorded as an Extraordinary Event (KLB), then the case disappeared for approximately 20 years after which it began to appear again in 2001 in Sumatra where it was also recorded as an Extraordinary Event. (KLB). Recorded Chikungunya cases in 2001-2003 reached 3,918 total cases without deaths. This counseling aims to find out how high the death rate is caused by the Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) and find out how to prevent and treat the Chikungunya virus. The method used is outreach which is expected to increase public knowledge regarding Chikungunya disease such as symptoms, prevention and treatment methods.

Abstract

Obesity is still a very serious problem in Indonesia, one of which is in children's lives, many children experience limited movement, inhibiting physical motor development so that physical motor development in children will be disrupted. Improper eating patterns are one of the main factors that cause nutritional problems in children. By looking at the facts that are happening now, many Indonesian people prefer fast food or fast food and foods and drinks that contain high amounts of processed sugar. Therefore, the author conducted outreach and distributed posters to prevent obesity in teenagers at the Tahfidz Islamic Center Siak Science High School. The aim of this community service is to increase teenagers' knowledge about obesity prevention and increase knowledge of the dangers of obesity. This community service activity was carried out in the Tahfidz Islamic Center Siak Science High School classes. The results of this counseling or outreach can increase knowledge for young students at the Tahfidz Islamic Center Siak Science High School about the prevention and impacts of obesity.

Abstract

Back pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal disorders faced by office workers, primarily caused by poor ergonomic posture and prolonged sitting. This community service project aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of office workers in preventing back pain through counseling and simple physiotherapy exercises. The intervention included interactive lectures, demonstrations of stretching and muscle-strengthening exercises, and Q&A sessions. Results showed a significant improvement in participants' understanding of proper posture and their ability to perform exercises independently. Following the program, 85% of participants reported feeling more comfortable during work, and 65% experienced a reduction in back pain. The program was well-received and is expected to help reduce the incidence of back pain, improve productivity, and promote a healthy workplace culture. The company also expressed interest in incorporating these practices into regular employee training. This project highlights the importance of ergonomic education and physical activity in preventing musculoskeletal disorders and improving employee well-being in the workplace.

Abstract

Children with disabilities have the potential to grow optimally when supported with appropriate stimulation and care. This community service activity aimed to enhance the understanding of teachers and parents at SLB Cendana Rumbai regarding their crucial role in supporting the development of children with disabilities. The methods included interactive counseling sessions, training on developmental stimulation strategies, and experience-sharing discussions. The results showed improved awareness among participants about appropriate approaches in guiding children with disabilities, along with increased motivation to engage actively in their developmental process. This initiative is expected to be a starting point in creating a more inclusive and supportive educational environment.

Abstract

Low back pain (LBP) is a common complaint among pregnant women, often caused by postural changes, weight gain, and hormonal fluctuations during pregnancy. This condition can significantly affect quality of life and daily functioning, yet community-based educational interventions remain limited. This community service program aimed to provide physiotherapy education to prevent and manage pregnancy-related LBP, particularly in local health post settings. The program was conducted at Posyandu Teratai, Bambu Kuning Subdistrict, under the Rejosari Health Center, in Pekanbaru City. The methods included educational sessions, practical stretching demonstrations, pre-test and post-test evaluations, and the distribution of digital materials for home-based practice. The results showed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge, with test scores improving from 60% to 85%. Participants showed strong enthusiasm during the practical sessions and reported that the techniques were helpful and easy to apply. Feedback included requests for broader content and more varied methods such as tutorial videos. As a follow-up, participants were encouraged to form peer support groups and continue practicing independently using the provided materials. In conclusion, this educational program effectively improved pregnant women’s knowledge and skills in managing LBP and made a positive contribution to maternal health through a structured, community-based approach.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sistematika pengelolaan pelayanan kesehatan yang terakreditasi di UPTD Puskesmas Teluk Dalam Tenggarong Seberang guna mengembangkan metode agar pelayanan kesehatan tidak menurun. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara dengan pembimbing lapangan, serta pembagian kuesioner terkait kepuasan pasien. Selain itu, digunakan analisis data dengan diagram Fishbone dan metode matriks Reinke.   Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan pelayanan kesehatan yang terakreditasi di UPTD Puskesmas Teluk Dalam Tenggarong Seberang telah dilaksanakan dengan baik. Namun, masih terdapat beberapa kelemahan dalam sistematika pengelolaan, seperti kurangnya pengawasan dalam mengelola kebutuhan yang memadai. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan perbaikan dan pengembangan dalam sistematika pengelolaan pelayanan kesehatan yang terakreditasi di puskesmas tersebut.

Abstract

Health centers are government agencies in public health development services. It is difficult to find the highest disease in several health centers in the city of Pekanbaru. Many health centers still use manual records and systems that are not well integrated. This application is designed to provide accurate and up-to-date information about the highest disease in the region. With this application, it can make it easier for people to get information quickly and up to date. The search for the highest disease is integrated with technology, making it easier for people to access this service. Methods Community service activities by socializing the use of the highest disease application to community groups in Pekanbaru City. The results of this counseling are to provide information to the community and how to use the application inputted by the puskesmas on the website about the highest disease in the working area of the Pekanbaru City Health Office.

Abstract

The waiting time for radiology services is the grace period from the patient in the photo to receiving the results that have been experienced by the radiologist. One that affects the waiting time for radiology services is the use of PACS in radiology. PACS is a system that functions to receive, store, display and distribute radiological medical images. Since 2022, the Radiology service at one of Hospital in Pekanbaru has carried out a digital system, namely the use of PACS on all computers. The use of PACS at one of Hospital in Pekanbaru does not always run efficiently, not infrequently there are several examinations that get the results of doctor expertise/doctor's reading results that are long enough, even exceeding the minimum service standards. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) on the waiting time for Radiology services. This research is a type of descriptive quantitative research through document studies. This research was conducted at the Radiology Installation one of Hospital in Pekanbaru by taking samples of 300 data for 2021 and 300 data for 2023. From the results of this study, it was found that there was an influence of the use of PACS on Radiology service time seen from the tcount of 4.688 which was greater than the ttable of 1.6474 with a large influence of 4%.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between physical activity and stress management among physiotherapy students at Universitas Awal Bros. As students face various academic pressures and challenges, stress levels can significantly impact their overall well-being and academic performance. Physical activity has been recognized as an effective strategy for reducing stress and enhancing mental health. This research employs an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach, involving a sample of 20 physiotherapy students who completed questionnaires assessing their physical activity levels and stress management strategies. The International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) was used to measure physical activity, while the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) assessed stress levels. Preliminary results indicate that a significant portion of students engages in regular physical activity, which correlates with lower stress levels. Statistical analysis reveals a meaningful relationship between the frequency and intensity of physical activity and the effectiveness of stress management techniques among students. These findings suggest that promoting physical activity could be a valuable component in stress management programs for physiotherapy students, ultimately contributing to improved mental health and academic success
